thetextnotrelevanttoyourparticularmodel.Readtheinstructionsforyourmountalongwiththis
manualifyoupurchasedthetelescopeasacompletepackage.
WARNING!
Neverlookdirectlyatthesunwiththetelescopeoritsfinderorguidescope.
Permanentandirreversibleeyedamagemayresult.
CAUTION
Donotleavetheopticaltubeuncappedinthedaytime.Sunlightpassingthroughthe
telescopeorfinderscopemaycauseafire.

Blowoffdustonlensesusingacommerciallyavailableblowerbrush.Donotuse
compressedair.
Forstorage,keeptheproductinadryplaceanddonotexposetodirectsunlight.
SETTING UP THE TELESCOPE-Refertoyourmountinstructionsalongwiththismanual.
ATTACHING THE TELESCOPE TO THE MOUNT(GP2mountandA80Mfopticaltube
shownhere)
Loosenboththedovetailplatelockscrewand
safetyscrewuntilthetipsofthesescrewsno
longerextendedintotheinnerpartofthedovetail
block.
Slidethedovetailmountedscopeintothedovetail
mountingblockasshowninthefigure.Tightenthe
dovetaillockscrew(centeredonthenotch)onto
thedovetailtubeplateuntilsnug.
Firsttightenthedovetaillockscrew,andthentightenthesmallchromesafetyscrewontothedovetailmountingblockuntil
snug.

ATTACHING THE FINDER SCOPE
(1)Back out the adjustment screw on
the finder bracket to allow passage of
the finder scope. (Make sure the
adjustment screws do not fall off the
bracket.)
(2)SidetherubberOringontotheeyepieceend
ofthefinder.Therearetwogroovesonthefinder
tube.PositiontheOringonthenarrowgrooveat
themiddleofthefindertube.
(3)Pullupthefixedstudon
the bracket ring and pull it
so that the finder tube
slides into the bracket ring
fromitseyepieceend.
Releasethefixedstudso
thewidegrooveonthe
findertubeisunderneath
thestud.
(4)Tightenthetwoadjustmentscrewssothat
the
finderscopeis
alignedasshown
inthefigure.
Loosenthefinderbracketlockthumbscrewonthe
telescope.
Attachthefinderbracketasshowninthe
figure,tightenthefinderbracketlock
thumbscrewsecurely.
ALIGNING THE FINDER SCOPE – Besuretoalignthefinderscopebeforeyoubegin
observing.
(1) Chooseaconspicuoustargetinthedistanceandplacethetargetin
thecenterofthefieldofviewofthetelescope.(Intheillustration,a
distanttower isbrought intothe centerofthe fieldof viewofthe
telescope.)
(2) Next,lookthroughthefinderscope.Youshouldprobablyfindthe
same target somewhere within the finder’s field of view.(The
finderscopehascrosshairs.)
(3) Aligntheopticalaxis(fieldofview)ofthefinderscopewiththe
opticalaxis(fieldofview)ofthetelescope.Adjustthefinderscope
bylooseningortighteningtheadjustmentscrewsAandB(InFigure
#4Above)untilthetargetisinthesameposition,inthecenterof
thecrosshairs.(Intheillustration,thetopofthetowerisinthe
centerofthecrosshairs.)
