Novojunta® 3
Novojunta® 3 is a prole for expansion joints made of PVC. It is a
combination of rigid and exible material which allows to absorb
small variations of movement and offer a good resistance, avoiding
pathologies. This prole can be installed both in outdoors and
indoors areas. It is specially designed for thick oorings. This model
is available in several nishes as white, grey, beige, brown and black
color.

Novojunta® 3 is a solution for expansion joints whose main function is absorbing expansions and
contractions in tiled oorings or walls to avoid the apparition of pathologies. It can be installed vertically
or horizontally both in oorings as in walls.

Materials
PVC
Novojunta® 3 is a prole made by coextrusion of PVC-P (rigid PVC) and PVC-U (exible PVC). PVC-U
allow the prole to absorb expansion and contraction movements from oor and wall tiling where is
installed and PVC-P is suitable, due to its rigidity, to the support of the tile.
El PVC (polyvinyl chloride), is a polar amorphous thermoplastic polymer highly resistant to abrasion,
corrosion and a wide range of chemical products. Has a good resistance to impact, low water absorption,
low electrical conductivity and is dimensionally stable.
Tips of installation
According to our experiencie and our collaboration with specialized companies, we recommend the
following:
- Outdoors: it is recommendable to close areas between 107,6-269 ft
2
(10-25 m

) maximum and a
distance between expansion joints not exceeding 16,4 ft (5 l.m.)
- Indoors: it is recommendable to close area up to 430,4 ft
2
(40 m
2
) max. with a distance between
expansion joints not exceeding 26,2 ft (8 l.m.). If the ooring is dark and is under direct insolation, it will
be recommendable to apply the same tips than in outdoor oorings.
You will also need to take into account about the critical points of the installation:
- Take into account the structural joints.
- Install expansion joints:
- Between different materials (orientation, color, etc.)
- In different kinds of supports.
- In joints with constructive elements, narrowing or height changes.
- In perimeters when areas are bigger than 75,3 ft

1. Spread a big amount of gripping material on the surface where the pavement will be installed.
2. Then, place the prole and press it to allow the gripping material pass through the mechanized holes
on the xing wing.
3. Place a tile on the xing wing of the prole and press to an optimal contact with the gripping material.
4. Repeat the previous step placing tiles along the prole until the installation is nished.
5. Before curing, tap with a rubber hammer to align the prole with the pavement.
6. Finally clean the remaining material and let dry.
* If you planned polishing the soil, install the prole slightly below the tile to avoid possible damages.

Cleaning and maintenance
You can daily clean the prole with water and common detergents. The correct use of bleach, does not
affect it. It is resistant to the most common acids except in concentrated status.
It is not recommended the use of organic solvents such as acetate, acetone or toluene.
Thanks to its high resistance to many of the chemical products, the PVC products are ideal to be
installed in industries with saline environment, oils, etc.
