Beforeusingyour6100ETreadmill,werecommendthatyoufamiliarizeyourselfwith

ASSEMBLINGYOURTREADMILL
InstallationRequirements

Readthisowner'smanualandfollowtheinstructioncontainedherein.
Twopersonsarerecommendedtoassemblethetreadmill.Toavoidback
strain,andtoensuresafetytotheunitandyourself,wesuggestyouavoid
liftingtherunningbedassemblyfrombox.Instead,laythetreadmilldown,
dropthesidesoftheboxandslidethetreadmillfromthecontainerrather
thanliftingit.
Thepackingforthistreadmillwasdesignedtoprotectitduring
shipment,pleasestoretheoriginalpackaginginasafeplaceincase
youneedtoshiptheunitinthefuture.
Beforeassemblingyourtreadmill,makesurethatyouhaveallfollowingitems:

StepByStepInstructions
Whenyouremovethetreadmillfromitsbox,firstchecktomakesurealloftheparts
arepresent.Then,readthroughtheassemblyinstructionsbeforeyoubegin.
1.Laythetreadmillonitsside.Makesuretherunningbeltisinpositioninthetracks
oftheBeltAlignmentGuidesontheundersideofthemachine.(seeFig.1).
2.Insertthetwofrontpostsintotheirrespectivesocketsandsecurewithfourbolts
andwashersprovidedoneachside.(seeFig.2).

3.Assemblethewaterbottle/personalstereoholdertotherightfrontpostusingthe
screwsprovided.(seeFig.3).
Beforeusingthetreadmill,theleftedgeoftherunningbeltmustbe
completelyinthegreenportionoftheBELTALIGNMENTGAUGE,
locatedontheleftsideofthemotorshroud.Pleaserefertothe
"Maintainingyourtreadmill"section"Adjustingtherunningbelt"for
furtherinformation.(seeFig.4).

Ifthetreadmillisunsteadyonyourfloor,turnthefloorleveladjustmentontherear
feetofthetreadmill.Raiseorlowerthefloorleveladjustmenttosteadyyourtreadmill
(seeFig.5).

withyourfeetontherightandleftstagingplatforms.
Assoonasyouturnonthemachine,itwillgostraightintothe"MANUAL"mode.The
speedLEDwillflash,presstheSPEEDkeytostartthetreadmill,andtheINCLINE
keystoraiseorlowerthetreadmill.
SPEED:Usethespeedkeytoadjustyourdesiredspeed.Thespeed
rangeforthetreadmillisfrom0.1-12mph(0.2-20kph).Pressthe
speedkeytoincreasethespeedandpressthespeedkeyto
decreasethespeed.
INCLINE:UsetheINCLINEkeytoraiseorlowerthetreadmill.Theincline
rangeforthetreadmillisfrom0%-15%.
TIME:TherangeavailableinTIMEmodeis00:00-99:00minutes.UsetheTIME
tosetthedesiredtime.TheelectronicspackagewillBEEPfor10seconds
whenyourdesiredtimeisreached,thenwillstarttocountupifyouworkout
continues.Eachpressofthekeychangethetimeby1minute.
DISTANCE:Thedistanceofthetreadmillwillregistergoesfrom0-99.99milesor
0-99.00kilometers.Usethetosetthedesireddistance.
Eachpressofthebuttonchangethedistanceby0.1milesor0.1km.
CAL:Thisreadoutgivesyoutheamountofcaloriesburnedperminute.Therangeof
caloriesisfrom0-999.9CAL.

RUNNINGONTHETREADMILL
MAINTAININGYOURTREADMILL
Now,youhavebecomefamiliarwithyourtreadmill'soperationandarereadyto
exercise:
1.Plugthetreadmillintoastandardoutlet.Turnonthepowerswitchlocated
onthefrontofthemachine.
2.Straddlethebeltwithyourfeetontherightandleftstagingplatforms.
3.Selectyourcourseandfollowthescrolledmessages.YoumayalsoPRESSthe
SPEEDkeystobegin.
4.Pressspeed(keyuntilyoureach1.5-2.0mph/2.5-3.5kphoracomfortable
walkingspeed,keepbothhandsonthehandrails,andwalkforafewminutesto
getcomfortablewithyourtreadmill.
5.Afteryouarewalkinginaneasy,relaxed,andsteadyfashion,nowreleaseyour
griponthehandrails,andletyourarmsswingfreelyandnaturally.
6.Whenyoufeelcomfortablewalking,youmaywishtojog.Holdthehandrailwith
onehand,usetheotherhandtoincreasethespeedforjogging.
7.Remembertoholdthehandrailwhenusingthecontrolpanelontheelectronics
package,ortocatchyourbalancewhenslowingdownorstopping,andfor
dismounting.
8.Whenyouhavefinishedyourworkout,justpresstheSTOPkeylocatedonboth
sidesofthehandrail.Remembertocooldownbeforeyouend.
Yourtreadmillreliesonlowfrictionforpeakperformance.Thetreadmill'slowfriction
operationisdependentonkeepingtheunitascleanaspossible.See"Cleaningthe
Treadmill"forfurtherinformation.
Properbeltalignmentisalsoimportantforproperoperationofthetreadmill.

CAUTION:TurnofftheunitanddisconnecttheACcordbeforecleaning.
Regularcleaningisrecommendedtokeepyourtreadmillrunningatpeak

Tocleantheplasticparts,useamilddetergentandmakesuretheunitiscompletely
drybeforeoperating.Ontherunningsurface,useasoftnylonscrubbrush.Donot
usewatertocleanthebeltorrunningsurface,ortocleantheelectronicspackage.
Shouldwater,forsomereason,getontheelectronicspackage,immediatelyblowdry.
Itisrecommendedthatyoukeepallliquidsawayfromtheunitduringoperation.
Spillageofliquidsontoorintothemachinewillvoidthewarranty.
Your6100Ecomeswithabeltalignmentgaugelocatedontheleftsideofthemotor
cover.Theedgeoftherunningbeltshouldbeinthemiddleofthegreenportionof
thegauge.Ifthebeltedgeisinthegreenarea,thebeltdoesnotneedadjusting.If
theleftedgeisintheredportion,thebeltneedsadjustingimmediately(seeFig.6).
Thebeltisproperlyalignedatthefactory.However,duringshippingandhandlingor
byuseonanunevensurface,thebeltmaymoveoffcenter.Therefore,itisimportant
thatyoucheckthebelt'salignmentbeforeusingthetreadmill.
Thecorrectalignmentoftherunningbeltiscriticalforthesmoothoperationofthe
treadmill.
DONOTALLOWANYONETOWALKONRUNNINGBELTDURING
THISPROCEDURE.
Failuretorealignthebeltcouldresultintearingorfrayingofthebelt,whichisnot
coveredinthewarranty.Pleasefollowtheadjustmentprocedurelistedbelow:

1.Turnonthepowerswitchlocatedonthefrontofmachine.
2.PresstheSPEEDkeytoincreasethespeeduntilthespeedregisters2.0mph/
3.2kphonthedigitaldisplay.
3.Whiletheunitisrunningat2mph/3.2kph,determinewherethebeltisinrelation
tothebeltalignmentgauge.
4.Shouldyourbeltbeinthewrongcolorrange,followthestepsbelowtoreturnthe
belttothe"safetyzone":
5.Ifthebeltisintheleftredzone:Stopthemachine,turntheleftbeltadjustment
boltlocatedattherearofthetreadmillclockwise1/4turnatatime,usingthehex
Allenwrench.Thenturntherightbeltadjustmentboltcounterclockwise1/4turn.
Letthetreadmillrun30seconds,thencheckthepositionofthebeltinthecolor
gauge.Ifthebeltstillhasnotreturnedtothegreensafetyzone,repeatwith
another1/4turnuntilthebelthasreturnedtothemiddleofthegreenarea.Donot
turnadjustingboltmorethan1/4turnatatime.
Ifthebeltisontheedgeofthegreencolor,pleaseadjustitsoitisinthemiddleof
thegreencolor.Youmayturntheadjustmentboltlessthan1/4turnatatime.
6.Conversely,ifthebeltisintherightredzone,turntherightbeltadjustmentbolt
clockwise1/4turn,thenturntheleftadjustmentboltcounterclockwise1/4turn.
Thenletthetreadmillrunatleast30seconds,checkthepositionofthebeltinthe
colorgauge.Ifitstillhasnotreturnedtothegreensafetyzone,repeatwith
another1/4turnuntilthebelthasreturntothemiddleofthegreenarea.Donot
turnadjustingboltmorethan1/4turnatatime.
7.Whenthebeltisbackinthegreen"safetyzone",youcancontinueyourregular
useofthetreadmill.Slowlyincreasethespeedoftheunitto5.5MPH(9KPH),
andletitrunforatleast45seconds.

Periodicallymonitorthepositionofthebelttoensurepeakperformance:
Whenyouareusingthetreadmill,ifyoufeelapauseinthebeltwitheachfootplant
thebeltistooloose.Stopthemachine,checkthebelttension,lefttherunningbelt
offthedeckinthemiddle(see7&7-1).Thereshouldbeabout15m/m(5/8")or
3-5kgsof"give"inthebelt.Ifthereistoomuch(seeFig.7-2),thenadjustbothrear
rollerboltsclockwise1/2turnatatime(seeFig.7-3).
Toavoidinjury,specialcaremustbetakenwhenadjustingtherunning
belt.Turnoffthetreadmillwhileadjustingorworkingneartherearrollers.
Removeanylooseclothingorshoelacesandtiebackyourhair.Bevery
carefultokeepyourfingersoranyotherobjectsclearofthebeltand
rollers.Thetreadmillisdesignedtocarryspecificweightsatspecific
speeds.Thetreadmillwillnotstopimmediatelyifanyobjectbecomes
caughtinthebeltorrollers.
Overtighteningofthebeltcausesdamageandprematurefailureofthe
precisioningsinthefrontandrearrollers.

fromthetachometerwheel.Pleasecontactyourdealer.
ERR3-Theuserisrunningfasterthanthebelt.Pleaseturnoffthemachineandtry
normaluseagain.
ERR6-Theunit'sinclinesystemmaybedamaged,pleasecontactyourdealerfor
moreinformation.
ERR7-TheelectronicspackageisreceivingthesignalreflectedfromtheVR
incorrectly,whichmeanstheterminalwiresaredisconnected,ortheVRis

FuseFailureForElectronicsPackageAndMotor
CAUTION:
Ifnothingisdisplayedontheelectronicspackage,pleasecheckthePOWERswitch
locatedonthefrontofthetreadmill.Ifitisunlit,thenthefuseisdamagedandmust
bereplaced.
MAKESURETHETREADMILLPLUGISREMOVEDFROMOUTLET
BEFOREREPLACINGTHEFUSE.
Therearetwofuseholderslocatedatthefrontofthetreadmillframe,theright4amp
fuseholderisfortheINCLINESYSTEM,andtheleftfuseholder15amp/100-120
volts(or10amp/220-240volts)isfortheElectronicsPackageandMotor(seeFig.8),
pleasemakesuretocheckyourstandardvoltagepriortofusereplacement.
Toremovethefusefortheelectronicspackageandmotor,pushonthefuseholder
andthenturntheholdercounterclockwiseandthefuseholderwithfusewillprotrude.
Removethedamagedfuseandinsertanewfuse,pushingthefuseandholderin,
thenturningclockwisetosecurethefuseholder(seeFig.8-18-3).
Iftheunit'selectronicspackageormotorrefusestorespondafterchangingthefuse,
pleasecontactyourdealerformoreinformation.

The4ampfuseisfortheInclinesystem.Toremovetheinclinesystemfuse,pushon
thefuseholderandthenturntheholdercounterclockwiseandthefuseholderwith
fusewillprotrude.Removethedamagedfuseandinsertanewfuse,pushingthe
fuseandholderin,thenturningclockwisetosecurethefuseholder(seeFig.8-18-
3).
