1. Insert the hitch cover lamp to your hitch receiver opening
(use standard pin to hold in place).
2. Wiring with existing trailer connector:
a. The connector can be applied to the most commonly used 4-way at
trailer connector. If you have this connector on your vehicle,
simply plug it in and it is ready for use.
b. If the connector from your vehicle does not match the one from this hitch
cover, cut off the connector on the lamp. Apply the white wire to the
ground wire of your vehicle’s connector; apply the green wire to the brake
lights and turn signal wire on your vehicle’s connector.
3. Wiring without existing trailer connector:
a. Use a test light to identify the power and the ground
wire to be connected.
NOTE: The most convenient location to access the brake light power and
ground wire is behind the brake light bulb. Remove the brake light lens
cover to access the wires if necessary.
b. Splice an extension wire (18 gauge) from both the power and
ground wires. Cut the extension wires to their proper length, connect
the power wire to the green wire on the hitch lamp, and the ground
wire to the white wire on the hitch lamp.
THE EXTENSION WIRES, SPLICE CONNECTORS AND BULLET PLUGS
ARE NOT INCLUDED.
