Connection to the mains supply
Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds
with the voltage marked on the rating label of
the adaptor.
Charging process
Before using the appliance for the fi rst time the
battery must be fully charged, which will take
about 12 hours. The appliance can remain on
charge for a longer period without damage or
danger, but this should generally be avoided.
With a fully charged battery, the appliance can be
operated for around 30 minutes.
If you experience a considerable decrease in
trimming performance, switch off the appliance
and recharge the battery. The appliance may
also be used with the adaptor connected
directly. In this case, however, the battery
must be briefl y charged for approximately 10
minutes. The charging process
starts only once
the unit is switched off.
– Insert the connecting plug of the adaptor
into the corresponding jack on the charging
base.
– Ensure that the unit is switched off and
place it in the charging base.
– Insert the adaptor into a suitable wall
socket. The charging process begins
automatically. The red charge indicator
remains lit throughout the charging process;
it only goes out once charging is complete.
– Once the charging process is complete,
always remove the adaptor from the wall
socket fi rst before disconnecting the jack
from the charging base.
– The battery can also be recharged by
inserting the connecting plug of the adaptor
directly into the corresponding jack on
the underside of the trimmer. The red
charge indicator lights up until charging is
complete.
– While charging, the transformer within the
adaptor will become warm. This is perfectly
normal and safe and does not indicate a
malfunction of any kind.
– If the appliance has not been used for a
long period, the capacity of the battery may
decrease by a certain amount. However,
full capacity will be restored after several
charge/discharge cycles.

Fitting the push-on combs
The push-on comb attachments allow for
cutting length adjustment from 3 to 12 mm.
The medium-size comb is suitable for cutting
lengths from 3 to 6 mm, the large-size comb
for lengths from 9 to 12 mm. These comb
attachments can only be used with the wider
hair trimming-head.
When fi tting a push-on comb, ensure that it is
safely locked by the two locking buttons on the

with the thumb.
For the narrow beard/contour trimming-head,
use the smallest push-on comb.

trimming-head from the top, ensuring that it
clicks into place. Using the locking buttons
on the sides of the trimming-head, the cutting
lengths of the comb can be adjusted to 3, 5
