Safety advice and warnings
- Read these instructions carefully
before switching on the appliance
and keep them for future referen-
ce. Failure to follow and observe
these instructions could lead to an
accident.
- Clean all the parts of the product
that will be in contact with food, as
indicated in the cleaning section,
before use.
Working environment:
- The appliance must be used and
placed on a flat, stable surface.
Electrical safety:
- Do not use the appliance if the
cable or plug is damaged.
- Ensure that the voltage indicated
on the rating label matches the
mains voltage before plugging in the
appliance.
- Connect the appliance to a base
with an earth socket withstanding a
minimum of 10 amperes.
- The appliance’s plug must fit
into the mains socket properly. Do
not alter the plug. Do not use plug
adaptors.
- Do not leave the appliance out in
the rain or exposed to moisture. If
water gets into the appliance, this will
increase the risk of electric shock.
- If any of the appliance casings
breaks, immediately disconnect the
appliance from the mains to prevent
the possibility of an electric shock.
- Do not use the appliance if it has
fallen on the floor, if there are visible
signs of damage or if it has a leak.
- Do not force the power cord. Never
use the power cord to lift up, carry or
unplug the appliance.
- Do not wrap the power cord around
the appliance.
- Do not allow the power cord to come
into contact with the appliance’s hot
surfaces.
- Check the state of the power cord.
Damaged or tangled cables increase
the risk of electric shock.
- Do not touch the plug with wet
hands.
Personal safety:
- Do not touch the heated parts of the
appliance, as it may cause serious
burns.
Use and care:
- Fully unroll the appliance’s power
cable before each use.
- Do not switch the appliance on
without water.
- Do not use the appliance if the on/
off switch does not work.
- Do not move the appliance while
in use.
- Respect the MAX (12 cups) and
MIN (4 cups) levels. (Fig.1)
- Disconnect the appliance from the
mains when not in use and before
undertaking any cleaning task.
- This appliance is for household use
only, not professional, industrial use.
- This appliance is only for domestic
use, not for industrial or professional
use. It is not intended to be used by
guests in hospitality environments
such as bed and breakfast, hotels,
motels, and other types of residential
environments, even in farm houses,
areas of the kitchen staff in shops,
offices and other work environments.
- This appliance is intended for adult
use. Ensure that this product is not
used by the disabled, children or
people unused to its handling.
- This appliance is not a toy. Children
should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
- This appliance should be stored
out of reach of children and/or the
disabled.
- Any misuse or failure to follow
the instructions for use renders the
guarantee and the manufacturer’s
liability null and void.
Instructions for use
Before use:
- Before making coffee for the first
time, it is advisable to use the coffee
maker twice with water only to clean
the system.
Filling with water:
- You must fill the water compartment
before turning on the appliance.
-Lift the lid
- Fill the compartment with cold
water.
- Fill the compartment with as many
cups of water as cups of coffee you
would like to make.
- Fill the deposit taking care to ob-
serve the MIN (4 cups) and MAX (12
cups) level (Fig.1).
- Close the lid.
Filling with Coffee:
- Open the lid of the filter holder.
- Remove the filter holder.
- Fill the removable filter with ground
coffee (use 6-7 grams of ground
coffee for each cup to be made).
- Check that the removable filter is
correctly placed in the filter holder.
- Replace the filter holder in the
appliance.
- The dispensing spoon can be used
to pour the coffee.
-Close the lid and place the jar on
the plate.
Use:
- Unroll the cable completely before
plugging it in.
- Connect the appliance to the mains.
- Turn the appliance on, by using the
on/off switch.
-The pilot indicator will light up.
- Follow the “filling with water” and
“filling with coffee” procedures.
-The jar can be removed while the
coffee is made. The anti- drip system
prevents coffee spills while the jar
is not in place. However, if the jar
is not put back in time, coffee may
spill over the upper part of the filter-
holder.
-If you wish to keep the coffee hot,
place the jar on the plate and do not
switch off the coffee maker.
Once you have finished using the
appliance:
- Turn the appliance off using the on/
off switch.
- Unplug the appliance from the
mains.
- Clean the appliance.
Cleaning
- Disconnect the appliance from the
mains and allow it to cool before
undertaking any cleaning task.
- Clean the equipment with a damp
cloth with a few drops of washing-up
liquid and then dry.
- Do not use solvents, or products
with an acid or base pH such as blea-
ch, or abrasive products, for cleaning
the appliance.
- Never submerge the appliance in
water or any other liquid or place it
under running water.
Anomalies and repair
- Take the appliance to an authorised
technical support service if product is
damaged or other problems arise. Do
not attempt to disassemble or repair
the appliance yourself as this may be
dangerous.
- If the connection to the mains has
been damaged, it must be replaced
and you should proceed as you would
in the case of damage.
For EU product versions and/or in
case that it is requested in your
country:
Ecology and recyclability of the product
- The materials of which the packa-
ging of this appliance consists are
included in a collection, classification
and recycling system. Should you
wish to dispose of them, use the
appropriate public recycling bins for
each type of material.
- The product does not contain
concentrations of substances that
could be considered harmful to the
environment.
- This appliance contains, or could
contain, oil. Remember that one
should abide by the regulations con-
cerning the elimination of this type of
contaminant.
This symbol means that in
case you wish to dispose of
the product once its working
life has ended, take it to an
authorised waste agent for
the selective collection of
Waste from Electric and Electronic
Equipment (WEEE).
