OVERVIEW
BikeCam is versatile, lightweight video camera designed for use by cyclists. Once securely mounted on either your
helmet or your handlebars, BikeCam will capture video footage and sound as you cycle. Perfect if you’re concerned
about safety on your commute to work, or for enthusiasts who want to share their favourite routes or tricks on the
Internet.
BikeCam also incorporates a set of bright LED lights so it doubles as your bike’s front light, for use when riding at
night. No need for separate mountings or to carry around extra accessories when you leave your bike unattended.
A quick-release mechanism also ensures that BikeCam can quickly and easily be removed and reattached.

CHARGE THE BATTERY
The Bike Camera has a built-in rechargeable lithium battery. Before first use, it is advised to charge the battery fully
to preserve its life. There are two methods for charging the battery:
1. Connect it to a mains electrical outlet using the supplied adapter.
2. Connect it to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
While charging, the power LED will flash red.
When charging is complete, the LED will stay solid red.
NOTE
Charging the battery via computer USB port will take much longer than charging from a mains outlet.

4.1 FUNCTIONALITY OVERVIEW
It is important to become familiar with the Bike Cam and its key functionality.
NOTE
In the unlikely event that the camera “locks up” or freezes, it can be restored by pushing the “Reset
button with a thin object such as a pin.

4.2 INSERT A MICRO SD CARD
The camera records video and photo files to Micro SD card. Micro SD cards with up to 16GB capacity are
compatible. A 4GB card is included for your convenience. To insert a Micro SD card:
1. Unscrew the Port Cover (anti-clockwise).
2. Push the Micro SD card into the slot until it clicks in place.
To remove the Micro SD card, push it gently until it clicks,
then release, and it will eject.
3. Replace the Port Cover (screw it on clockwise).
4.3 USE THE TORCH
To turn the LED torch on:
Press the button.
To turn the LED torch off:
Press the button again.
NOTE
If the torch does not switch on, the battery needs charging. Please refer to section Charge The Battery
(page 5) for instructions on how to recharge.
4.4 RECORD VIDEO
To record video using the built-in camera:
1. Press the button to turn the camera on.
2. Press the button again. The button will
flash slowly to indicate recording is in progress.
To stop recording:
1. Press the button. The button will flash blue quickly.
2. Press and hold the button to switch the camera off.
NOTE
Video recordings are automatically saved as separate files every 5 minutes. Once the Micro SD card is full,
older recordings will be over-written.

4.5 CAPTURE A PHOTO
1. Press the button to turn the camera on.
2. Press the button to capture a photograph.
Each time this button is pressed, another photo
will be captured.
3. Press and hold the button to switch the
camera off.
CONNECTING TO A COMPUTER
If your computer has a built-in Micro SD card reader, you can simply remove the Micro SD card from the Bike Cam
and insert it into the reader. The video and photo files will be available from within “My Computer” as usual.
If you do not have a built-in Micro SD card reader, you can actually use the Bike Cam as a card reader by connecting
it to your computer, using the supplied USB cable.
1. Unscrew the Port Cover (anti-clockwise).
2. Connect the mini USB plug to the mini USB socket under the Port Cover.
3. Connect the full-size USB plug into a spare USB socket on your computer. The camera will appear as a new
drive letter in “My Computer”. Browse this drive to view your recorded video and photographs.
