The camera provides high-quality image using a Sony Wide Dynamic 1/3 Super-HADII
PS 960H (Effio) CCD and digital signal processing LSIs.

1) External Day/Night Control: To select Day/Night mode using external equipment,
connect control lines to the appropriate terminals.
DAY & NIGHT OUTPUT (Black / White)
This function allows the switching on of an external device such as lights, when
the camera switches to its night time mode. The Day/Night mode in the OSD
menus must be set to “AUTO”
DAY & NIGHT EXTERNAL INPUT (Grey)
This function allows the cameras Day/Night Switching to be controlled by an
external switch such as a Photo Cell. The Day/Night mode in the OSD menu
must be set to “External”
2) Alarm out (5vTTL)
Event detection signals are output through this port. (YELLOW AND GND)

INSTALLATION
1. Loosen the four torx screws located midway up the front of the housing leave the
screws loose in the front portion. (Fig. 1)
2. Drill the mounting location, using the bottom of the housing as a Drilling guide label.
(Fig. 3)
3. Attach the housing to the ceiling using suitable fasteners, M6x35 tapping screws are
supplied only use if they are suitable. (Fig. 3)
4. Close the housing using the loosen torx screws. (Fig. 2)

Local setup of the camera can be achieved by connecting a portable monitor to the set up video
out put (No.6 in the image above).
The OSD menu can be accessed by pressing button No. 1. Navigation of the menus is achieved by
using the other buttons as detailed above.

CAMERA ADJUSTMENT
White Balance
1) Auto(Auto White Balance) : AWB mode (1800ºK ~10500ºK)
2) Push/Hold: Push & Hold Mode.
To find the Optimal setting for the current environment, place a sheet of white
paper in front of the camera, select Hold and press the Enter button.
3) CRS Mode (Colour Rolling Suppression): Function is not used on this camera.
4) Outdoor: Sets the colour temperature to outdoor (6300ºK)
5) Indoor: Sets the colour temperature to indoor (3200ºK)
6) FL (Fluorescent Light): Sets the colour temperature for fluorescent lighting
conditions.
7) User (User Set White Balance): Adjust red or blue gain.
R(R-GAIN):Adjust R-GAIN value (0-255)
B(B-GAIN):Adjust B-GAIN value (0-255)
Auto Exposure
1) SHT(s)(Electronic Shutter) : Select Shutter mode.
Auto (1/50 ~ 1/100,000) Auto run, Manual 8 step from (1/50 ~1/10,000).
2) FLC (Flicker-less): Flicker-less On/Off.
3) AGC(Auto Gain Control) : AGC Gain(Off, Low, Middle, High)
4) Sense-Up (Slow Shutter): Maximum Slow-Shutter select. (x2-x32 and Off)
5) Offset Add: Forces the picture to turn up in a low luminance environment.
BLC/WDR
1) Normal AE: BLC/WDR function off.
2) WDR (Wide Dynamic Range): Wide Dynamic Range mode on.
3) EHLC (Excessive High Light Compensation): EHLC mode on.
The brightest part of the picture is blacked out to allow the other areas to be
viewed.
4) Auto (Auto Weighting BLC): Auto weighting BLC on.

5) Spot (User Setting BLC area): Spot metering mode on.
Posi: OSD mode to adjust the position of the spot metering area.
Size: OSD mode to adjust the size of the spot metering area.
6) Zone (Preset BLC area): Fixed metering area mode. (1-9).
Mask
1) Mask: Selects mask area to be set (1-15).
2) Func: Selects mask function (Privacy, BLM, Both, Off).
Privacy: Area to be blanked out on the display.
BLM: Back Light Mask.
Select the are of the screen that will have excessive back light
illumination- when activated this helps to over come the problem of the
lens shutting down due to the bright areas of the pictures, so allowing the
other areas to be viewed in detail
Both: Privacy function and BLM function on.
Off: Function off.
3) Edit: Edit Mask area.
Edit mode only available when FUNC set to ON
Size: adjust the size of the Privacy and BLM mask area.
Posi: adjust the position of the Privacy and BLM mask area.
Tilt: adjust tilting of Privacy and BLM mask area.
Colour: Select Privacy and BLM mask colour (0-14).
Transparency: Select Privacy mask transparency (Default 3/0-3).
Mosaic: Select Privacy and BLM mask mosaic On/Off
Adj. Mosaic: Adjust Privacy and BLM mask mosaic level (0-31).
Detection (Analytics)
1) Func: Select Detection function.
Note: Only one type of detection can be used at anytime
Zone: Area motion detection mode.
Zone: Select Motion detection zone (Zone1-4).
Func: Select Motion detection on/off.
Size: Press Enter button followed by the U/D/L and R buttons to adjust
the size of the Motion detection area.
Posi: Press Enter button followed by the U/D/L and R buttons to adjust
the position of the Motion detection area.
Link Zoom: When set to ON the image will digitally zoom in when motion
is detected

Motion Trace: When selected it will „box the moving objects.
Tracks an object through a scene and generates an alarm.
Face Trace: Face Trace mode on.
Tracks a face through a scene and generates an alarm.
Sens Down: Lowering the value allows for wider judgment on facial
recognition. (0~127)
Min Size: Minimum face size configuration (If this is set to 0 then no faces
will be detected).
Please be aware the facial recognition function is not 100% accurate and can produce
false alarms or miss faces being captured. Not recommended for as a primary alarm
source.
Mine: Up to 4 areas of interest can be set. If motion occurs an alarm can be
generated
Set Mine: Press the Enter button to Set Mine mode.
< >: Move the Mine Zone move using the Left and Right buttons.
UP: Sets the min in the required position.
DN: Clears the position of the mine
ENT: Press Enter to leave the Set mode.
Clr All: Press the Enter button to clear all mine positions.
Display: Select Mine Display On/Off. To show cross hairs of mine position
Absent: Selecting the absent mode will produce alarms ands on screen displays
when an static object is removed from the scene or is placed in the scene
Sens Down: The lower the number the more sensitive the function is.
Alarms time out after a set period
In low luminance environment, the accuracy is reduced.
If the object is too big, the accuracy is reduced.
Cross: This will count the number of movements from one zone to another in one
direction.
Zone: Use the right arrow to select either Zone 1 or 2, the relevant zone
will flash for a short period.
Size: Adjust the size of the selected zone.
Posi: Adjust the position of the selected zone.
Direction : Select Crossing direction 1>2 or 2>1
Alarm Cnt: Set alarm out cross count. The alarm will be activated after
this number of counts.
Reset Cnt: Manually resets the count to Zero. The count will
automatically reset after the Alarm count is reached

If an object is passing too fast through the two detection areas, the counting may fail to
operate. Then in this case, increase the space between the two zones or decrease the
size of the zones.
If the passing object is too long, counting results can be inaccurate. Then in this case,
increase the space between the two zones or decrease the size of the zones.
If two objects pass across the area in the same time, then results can be inaccurate.
Entrance: Entrance counting mode. The object move in through the entrance,
counting number increases
Size: Adjust the size of the entrance.
Posi: Adjust the position of the entrance
Alarm Cnt: Sets the number of entrance activations required to activate
an alarm
Reset Cnt: Manually resets the count to Zero. The count will
automatically reset after the Alarm count is reached
1. Crossing objects are ignored
2. Multiple objects will not be detected.
3. If the distance is to long from the camera to entrance, the results can be
inaccurate.
2) Sens Down: Adjusts the Detection Sensitivity using left/right (L/R) Buttons. The lower
the figure the more sensitive the function is.

1) Sharpness: Adjusts the sharpness of outlines (0~15)
2) Resolution: Selects resolution mode (Low/Mid/High)
3) 2D-NR: Select 2D noise reduction level (0~6)
2D-NR : Noise reduction on a frame
4) 3D-NR: Select 3D noise reduction level (0~31)
3D-NR : Noise reduction through the several frame
5) DNR Demo: Select DNR Demo Display On/Off using the Left and Right Buttons

Func: Press the Enter button to turn digital zoom on/off.
Zoom: Use the Left and Right buttons adjust to digital zoom (0-255).
Pan&Tilt: Press the Enter button to access the Pan&Tilt (needs to be zoomed in
to operate).
Use the Left and Right buttons adjust to digital pan
Use the Up and Down buttons adjust to digital tilt
Press the Enter button to exit.
PT Reset (Pan & Tilt Reset): Press the Enter button to reset digital pan and tilt.
4) Freeze: This freezes the image on/off

5) Frame Control: Select term of refresh rate for output video. This function is useful to
reduce the recording to data storage.
Func: Select frame control mode to ON/OFF, and Auto.
Auto mode: When motion is not detected, the video output is being
refreshed in the programmed interval. When the motion is detected,
output video is switched to real time video.
ON: Always refresh in configured interval.
OFF: Always real time video.
Renewal (sec): Selects the interval between two frames.
Note: It may take a short time from motion being detected to switching to real time video
6) ScnChg/Unfoc: Select Scene Change/Unfocus detection On/Off.
If the image that the camera is viewing changes, e.g. goes out of focus or moves.
(This could be caused by tampering or spraying with paint. An On Screen
message will be displayed.
This function is linked with the alarm out
In low light environments, the accuracy will be reduced.
In very low light environments, the function will not operate.
The function ignores moving objects.

1) Cam Info: Camera information display
Cam ID/Baud rate/Protocol/Firmware Ver./CCD Type/Lens Type
2) General Setup
System Lock: Configuration Lock.
When system lock is set to Lock, User must to input 4-character
password to enter OSD menu.
Default password is 0000.
Change PID : Change the administrators password
Move cursor with OSD Key and Press Enter to input the character.
Comm (RS485 Communication): Press the Enter button to access the Comm.
Cam ID: Select the camera ID (001 - 255).
Baud Rate: Select serial communication speed (2400/4800/9600/19200).
Protocol: RS-485 protocol. (COMMAND / VISTA / FASTRAX / PELCO-D /
PELCO-P) ( Set to COMMAND when using hand held set up tool)
Title: Edit camera title.
Display: Selects the items to be displayed on screen.
Cam ID: Camera ID display On/Off.
Title: Title display On/Off.

Alarm : The alarm output (Yellow and Black pair) can be activated by the
Detection or Scene change functions is configured as follows:
Period: Alarm out period (5sec/10sec/20sec/30sec/1min/5min/Cont.)
Snooze: Alarm out snooze(Off/5sec/10sec/20sec/30sec/1min/5min)
(This is the period of time before the alarm will become armed again after
an alarm has cleared)
Active pol: Alarm output active state configuration. (Low, High)
(Low N.O. High N.C.)
System Init
Cancel: Back to General Setup Menu.
Confirm: Initialize all data. (Factory Default)
3) Lens
Iris : DC, Video, Manual Lens selected Iris : adjust AE Speed
DC lens and video lens can adjust AE Speed
Normal AE Ref (Auto Exposure Reference Level) : Press the Enter button to
access the AE Ref.
Ref Lvl: Adjust AE base reference level.
WDR Ref: Press the Enter button to access the WDR Ref.
Ref Lvl: Adjust the WDR long-time control Base Reference Level.
4) LLC (Line Lock Control) : Press the Enter button to access the Line Lock mode.
Func: Select Line Lock function On/Off using the Left and Right buttons.
Phase: Adjust Line Lock sync phase using the Left and Right buttons. (0~100)
The LLC function is only available if the camera is powered by and AC source.

5) White Pixel
Det Exe: Press Enter button to start the White Pixel Compensation mode.
ENT to Adj: Press Enter button to start White Pixel Compensation mode.
Proc: Process is running finding the white pixels. ( Please wait)
Done: Process ended
Det Count: Results of white pixel detection.( the number of white pixels)
Func: Select erasing white pixel function On/Off using the Left and Right buttons.
Det Level : Select the judgment level of white pixel using the Left and Right
buttons (1~16)
Det View: Set to on will display detected white pixels.
6) Day/Night
Mode: Select D&N mode.
Auto: Filter operates automatically relative to AGC level.
Day: The camera outputs the video image in colour only.
Night: The camera outputs the video image in black and white only.
Ext: The camera switches from Colour to mono on the input from an
external switch such as a Photo-cell. (Grey and Black)
Night Mode : Select B/W Burst On/Off
Delay(s): Adjust the delay before switching when D&N mode is Auto (1-60 sec).
D>N Level: Select switching level Day to Night when D&N mode is Auto (0-15).
(The lower the number the darker the image before switching)
N>D Level: Select switching level Night to Colour when D&N mode is Auto (0-15).
(The higher the number the brighter the picture before switching)
<Bottom Line Menus>
When user entered in main menu and sub-menus, following menus will be appeared.
I. Main Manu (menu in bottom lines)
A. Exit: Save & Exit.
B. Load: Load Default Value.
II. Sub Menu (menu in bottom lines)
A. Return: Return to previous menu.
B. Exit : Save & Exit
1) Exit Menu
Save & Exit: Save the current settings.
Exit: Exits without saving any changes.
2) Load Default Setup
Yes: Loads the factory default settings.
No: No operation, and return to previous menu.
