TROJAN recommends that all equipment:

• Besetupinsideyourhomeawayfrommoistureanddust(theequipmentisnotdesignedforoutdooruse).

thatthereshouldbeatleast1mofspacearoundtheequipmentwhereaccessisrequiredtoexercise.

STEP 1: FRONT STABILISER ASSEMBLY
• AttachtheFrontStabiliser(06)tothefrontoftheMainFrame(01)andsecurewithtwoAllenScrews(19),twoSpring
Washers (35) and two Curved Washers (34).
• AttachtheRearStabiliser(07)totherearoftheMainFrame(01)andsecurewithtwoAllenScrews(19),twoSpring
Washers (35) and two Curved Washers (34).
STEP 2: PEDAL ASSEMBLY
• AttachtheLeftandRightPedalStrapstotheLeftandRight
Pedals (43/44).
Note: The end with the four adjustable holes must be set
outwards.
• AttachtheLeftandRightPedals(43/44)totheLeftandRight
CrankArms(09).
Note: ThePedalsandCrankArmsaremarkedwithR&L.The
RightPedal(R)shouldbethreadedinaclockwisedirectionand

• RemovethefourAllenBolts(20)andfourCurved
Washers (34) from the Main Frame.
• SlidetheFrontPost(02)throughtheFrontCover(52)
and connect the Middle Computer Wire (67) from the
Front Post (02) to the Lower Computer Wire (68).
• PulltheTensionConnectoroftheUpperTension
Cable (63) and slide it in-between the opening on
the Connector Holder on Lower Tension Cable (66).
Pull the Upper Tension Cable upward and slide the wire
throughtheslotontheBracket.LowertheUpper
Tension Cable so the tting sits rmly on top
ofthebracket.
• InserttheFrontPost(02)intotheMainFrame(01).
Secure using four Curved Washers (34) and four Allen
Screws (20). Move the Front Cover (52) down into
position.
STEP 4: HANDLEBAR ASSEMBLY
• AttachtheHandlebar(03)tothefrontoftheFront
Post (02).
• PulltheHandPulseWire(69)throughtheholeon
the Front Post (02) and out of the top of the Front
Post (02).
• SecuretheHandlebartotheFrontPost(02)with
the Clamp Cover (56), Spacer (12) and T Type
Knob (45).

Ensure that cables are not damaged
during assembly or when tightening bolts.

• PlacetheComputer(62)ontotheFrontPost
(02) and secure with one screw (28).
STEP 6: BOTTLE HOLDER AND
SEAT POST ASSEMBLY
• RemovetheScrews(27)fromtheFrontPost
(09). Attach the Bottle Holder (51) to the Front
Post (02), secure using two Phillips Screws (27).
• PullouttheQuickReleaseKnob(46)fromthe
Main Frame (01) and insert the Seat Post (04)
into the Main Frame (01). Line up the holes
andsecuretheSeatinpositionwiththeQuick
Release Knob (46).
STEP 7: SEAT ASSEMBLY
• LoosentheNutontheSeat(64)usingthe
Crossing Wrench (30).
• AttachtheSeat(64)totheSeatPost(04)and
secure the Seat (64) using the Crossing Wrench
(30). Tighten both sides.
• PlaceBottle(50)intotheBottleHolder(51).
CAUTION:
Ensure that cables are not damaged
during assembly or when tightening bolts.

1. Insert2AA1.5Vbatteriesintotherearoftheconsol.AbuzzerwillsoundandtheLCDdisplaysallfunctionsforabout
2 seconds.
2. After powering up, the upper (big) window displays TEMPERATURE and the lower (small) window displays the calendar.
• TherstdataashedisHOUR,pressSETtoincreasefrom00to23;thenpressMODEtosetminutes.
• PressSETtoincreasefrom00to59;thenpressMODEtosetyear.
• PressSETtoincreasefrom2003to2099;thenpressMODEtosetmonth.
• PressSETtoincreasefrom01to12;thenpressMODEtosetdate.
• PressSETtoincreasefrom01to31.
• PressRESETtochangeallcurrentsettingstotheoriginaldata.
Note: The calendar can only be adjusted when batteries are installed or re-install, it can’t be adjusted after exercise has
started.
3. SCAN: The consol will display the metric values in the following rotating order, every 6 seconds:
TIME
DISTANCE CALORIE PULSE SPEED/RPM.
Inthescanmode,pressMODEtoexitSCAN,tolockcurrentmode,thentosetit.
Inthelockmode,pressMODEtodisplayandlockthenextmode,thentosetit.
4.TIME: Measuresthetimefromwhenyoustarttoexercisetowhenyoustopexercising.Calculationcommences
on detection of a speed signal input. If no speed signal input is detected in 4 seconds, the TIME stops and
consol displays “P”.
Setting scope: 0: 00-99: 00 minutes, each time you press SET, the minutes advance 1minute at a time. If you
pressandholdfor3secondsyoucanfasttrackthetimetothedesiredtimeyouwanted.
The consol will sounds 3 beeps when the time reaches the scheduled time.
5. SPEED: Measures current speed from 0.0 -99.9. If no signal is detected in 4 seconds, SPEED displays 0.0.
6. RPM: Measures current RPM from 0-999. If no signal is detected in 4 seconds, RPM displays 0.0.
7. DISTANCE: Measures distance from when you start to when you stop from 0-99.99.
Settingscopeof0.00-99.50eachtimeyoupresstheSETkey,thedistanceincreasesby0.5km.Ifyoupress
andholdfor3secondsyoucanfasttrackthedistancetothedesireddistanceyouwant.
The consol will sounds 3 beeps when the distance reaches the scheduled distance.
8. CALORIE: Measures heat consumption from when you start to stop from 0-9999.
EachtimewhenyoupresstheSETkey,theCALORIESincreaseby10.Ifyoupressandholdfor3seconds
youcanfasttracktheCALORIEStothedesiredlevelyouwant.
The consol will sounds 3 beeps when the CALORIES reaches the scheduled CALORIES.

9. PULSE: Sensors measure your pulse every minute through the hand-held pulse sensor. When a pulse signal
isreceived,theconsoldisplaysyourcurrentpulserateafter1–2seconds.ThePULSEsymbolashes
when receiving a pulse signal. If no signal is detected, it displays 0.
Settingscope:0-72-240beats/minute.ThersttimeyoupressSETkey:itshows72,eachtimeyoupress
theSETkeythereafter,thePULSEincreasesby1.Ifyoupressandholdfor3secondsyoucanfasttrackthe
heart rate to the desired level you want.
The consol will sounds 3 beeps when the HEART BEAT reaches the scheduled HEART BEAT.
10. Standby: If no signal is detected for 4 seconds, TIME stops then the consol enters the Standby Mode.
11. Sleep: If no signal is detected for 4 minutes, the consol enters Sleep Mode and the LCD displays TEMPERATURE
and DATE.
12.Wakeup/ Theconsolwillre-activate(wakeup)automaticallywhenaspeedsignalisdetectedorakeyis
re - activate: pressed.
13.MODE: EachtimewhenyoupressMODE,theconsolchangestothenextsettingmodeTIME-DISTANCE-
CALORIE - PULSE -
SPEED/RPM.
Pressthesetkeyfor3secondstosettheparameter,pressMODEkey
for 2 seconds to Reset.
14. SET: Set TIME, DISTANCE, CALORIE, PULSE.
15. RESET: Clears all current parameter when setting.
16.RECOVERY: RECOVERYworkswhenahand-heldorwirelesssignalisdetected.PressRECOVERYandtheLCD
displays 00:60. It will countdown and enter the RECOVERY function for measurement. The display displays
RECOVERY level.
F1:Thebestcondition:pulserecoverstonormalvaluemostquickly

7. CONDITIONING GUIDELINES
Howyoubeginyourexerciseprogramdependsonyourphysicalcondition.Ifyouhavebeeninactiveorareseverely
overweight,youmuststartslowlyandincreaseyourtimeontheequipment;afewminutesperworkout.Initially,youmay
beabletoexerciseonlyforafewminutesinyourtargetzone,however,youraerobictnesswillimproveoverthenextsix
toeightweeks.Don’tbediscouragedifittakeslonger.It’simportanttoworkatyourownpace.Ultimately,you’llbeable
toexercisecontinuouslyfor30minutes.Thebetteryouraerobictness,theharderyouwillhavetoworktostayinyour
targetzone.Pleaseremembertheseessentials:
•Haveyourdoctorreviewyourtraininganddietprogramstoadviseyouofaworkoutroutineyoushouldadopt.
•Beginyourtrainingprogramslowlywithrealisticgoalsthathavebeensetbyyouandyourdoctor.
•Monitoryourpulsefrequently.Establishyourtargetheartratebasedonyourageandcondition.
EXERCISE INTENSITY
Tomaximizethebenetsofexercising,itisimportanttoexercisewiththe
proper intensity. The proper intensity level can be found by using your heart
rateasaguide.Foreffectiveaerobicexercise,yourheartrateshouldbe
maintainedatalevelbetween65%and85%ofyourmaximumheartrate
asyouexercise.Thisisknownasyourtargetzone.Youcanndyourtarget
zoneinthetablebelow.
Duringtherstfewmonthsofyourexerciseprogram,keepyourheartratenearthelowendofyourtargetzoneasyou
exercise.Afterafewmonths,yourheartratecanbeincreasedgraduallyuntilitisnearthemiddleofyourtargetzoneas
youexercise.
Tomeasureyourheartrate,stopexercisingbutcontinuemovingyourlegsorwalkingaroundandplacetwongerson
yourwrist.Takeasix-secondheartbeatcountandmultiplytheresultsby10tondyourheartrate.Forexample,ifyour
six-secondheartbeatcountis14,yourheartrateis140beatsperminute.(Asix-secondscountisusedbecauseyour
heartratewilldroprapidlywhenyoustopexercising.)
Adjusttheintensityofyourexerciseuntilyour
heart rate is at the proper level.

8. WARM-UP AND COOL-DOWN
WORKOUT GUIDELINES
Eachworkoutshouldincludethefollowingthreeparts:
•Awarm-up,consistingof5to10minutesofstretchingandlightexercise.Aproperwarm-upincreasesyourbody
temperature,heartrate,andcirculationinpreparationforexercise.
•Trainingzoneexercise,consistingof20to30minutesofexercisingwithyourheartrateinyourtrainingzone.
(Note:Duringtherstfewweeksofyourexerciseprogram,donotkeepyourheartrateinyourtrainingzonefor
longer than 20 minutes).
•Acool-down,with5to10minutesofstretching.Thiswillincreasetheexibilityofyourmusclesandwillhelpto
preventpost-exerciseproblems.
EXERCISE FREQUENCY
Tomaintainorimproveyourcondition,planthreeworkoutseachweek,withatleastonedayofrestbetweenworkouts.
Afterafewmonthsofregularexercise,youmaycompleteuptoveworkoutseachweek,ifdesired.Remember,thekey
tosuccessismakeexercisearegularandenjoyablepartofyoureverydaylife.
SUGGESTED STRETCHES
The correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you
stretch, never bounce.
1. Toe Touch Stretch
Standwithyourkneesbentslightlyandslowlybendforwardfromyourhips.Allow
yourbackandshoulderstorelaxasyoureachdowntowardyourtoesasfaras
possible.Holdfor15counts,thenrelax.Repeat3times.Stretches:Hamstrings,back
ofkneesandback.
2. Hamstring Stretch
Sitwithonelegextended.Bringthesoleoftheoppositefoottowardyouand
restitagainsttheinnerthighofyourextendedleg.Reachtowardyourtoesasfar
aspossible.Holdfor15counts,thenrelax.Repeat3timesforeachleg.Stretches:
Hamstrings,lowerbackandgroin.
3. Calf/Achilles Stretch
With one leg in front of the other, reach forward and place your hands against a wall.
Keepyourbacklegstraightandyourbackfootatontheoor.Bendyourfrontleg,
leanforwardandmoveyourhipstowardthewall.Holdfor15counts,thenrelax.
Repeat 3 times for each leg. To cause further stretching of the achilles tendons, bend
yourbacklegaswell.Stretches:Calves,achillestendonsandankles.
4. Quadriceps Stretch
Withonehandagainstawallforbalance,reachbackandgrasponefootwithyour
otherhand.Bringyourheelasclosetoyourbuttocksaspossible.Holdfor15counts,
thenrelax.Repeat3timesforeachleg.Stretches:Quadricepsandhipmuscles.
5. Inner Thigh Stretch
Sitwiththesolesofyourfeettogetherandyourkneesoutward.Pullyourfeet
towardyourgroinareaasfaraspossible.Holdfor15counts,thenrelax.Repeat3

12. TROJAN 1 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
The Manufacturer hereby provides a warranty to the original purchaser of this product (‘the Consumer’) that this product
willbefreeofmanufacturingdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipwhichundernormal,personal,familyorhouseholduse
(commercialuseexpresslyexcluded)manifestthemselveswithinthe1yearfromthedateofpurchase.
EXCLUSIONS
Thewarrantydoesnotincludeandwillnotbeconstruedtocoverproductsdamagedasaresultofdisaster;misuse;
commercialuse;usenotinaccordancewithinthewritteninstructionsincludedwiththeproduct;abuseand/oranynon-
authorised modication of the product, incorrect installation of the product or normal wear and tear.
WAIVER
The warranty and the obligations of the manufacturer provided herein are in lieu of, and the consumer, waives all other
warranties,guarantees,conditionsorliabilities,expressorimplied,arisingbylaworotherwise,includingwithoutlimitation,
any obligation of the manufacturer in respect of any injury, loss or damage (direct, indirect or consequential) arising out of
the use of, or inability to use this product and whether or not occasioned by the manufacturer’s negligence or any act or
omission on its part.
PROOF OF PURCHASE
Any claim in terms of the warranty must be supported by a proof of purchase or a warranty number. Warranty numbers can
be issued through contacting our call centre on 0861 876526 (0861 Trojan), or online at www.trojanhealth.co.za.
If such proof is not available, then notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, the service agent’s prevailing charges for
services/repairs including call-out and/or spares will be payable by the consumer upon collection or delivery of the repaired
product.
During the warranty period the product may only be serviced and/or repaired by the manufacturer’s duly authorised
agent(s).

13. TROJAN REPAIRS PROCEDURE
1. Procedure for repairs
ShouldyouexperienceanyfaultsorbreakdownsonyourTrojanequipment,pleaseadheretothefollowingprocedureto
have the fault rectied speedily and professionally.
• Donotreturntheproducttothestore*.
• Call0861 Trojan (0861 876526) to log the faulty product (under warranty or out of warranty).
• Theoperatorortechnicaladvisorwilltryidentifythefault,andwillbookaserviceteamcallout.
• Theserviceteamwillendeavourtoxtheprobleminyourhomeonanagreeddateandtime.
• Onlyifthefaultcannotberepairedintheconvenienceofyourhome,willtheserviceteamtakethe
faultyproductbacktotheservicecentre.
• Itemsrepairedinourservicecentrewillbereturnedtoyourhomeonanagreeddateandtime.
* Note:
Should you live in an outlying area, it may be necessary to return the product to the store nearest to you. Our service operator
will advise you of your repair procedure.
2. Cost of Repairs
