•Movementoftheupperbodymuscles(includingarms)producesanelectricalsignal(muscleartifact)thatcaninterferewithpulsedetection.Slighthandmovementwhile
incontactwiththesensorscanalsoproduceinterference.
•Callusesandhandlotionmayactasaninsulatinglayertoreducethesignalstrength.
•SomeElectrocardiogram(EKG)signalsgeneratedbyindividualsarenotstrongenoughtobedetectedbythesensors.

decreasingbyapproximatelyoneBPMforeachyear.Thereisnoindicationthattraininginfluencesthedecreaseinmaximumheartrate.Individualsofthesameagecould
havedifferentmaximumheartrates.Itismoreaccuratetofindthisvaluebygettingastresstestthanbyusinganagerelatedformula.

TheHeartRatetableisanestimateofwhatHeartRateZone(HRZ)iseffectivetoburnfatandbetteryourcardiovascularsystem.Physicalconditionsvary,therefore
yourindividualHRZcouldbeseveralbeatshigherorlowerthanwhatisshown.
Themostefficientproceduretoburnfatduringexerciseistostartataslowpaceandgraduallyincreaseyourintensityuntilyourheartratereachesbetween60–85%
ofyourmaximumheartrate.Continueatthatpace,keepingyourheartrateinthattargetzoneforover20minutes.Thelongeryoumaintainyourtargetheartrate,the
morefatyourbodywillburn.
