Mountfield Empress 16 is a domestic lawnmower suitable for average lawns where the roller will make it easy to mow over lawn edges and leave a ‘banded’ finish. It is fitted with an air-cooled four-stroke engine, which drives the rotary cutter. The height of the casing above the ground is adjusted by the handwheel on the left. Turning the handwheel anti-clockwise raises the machine from the lowest cut of about 1.5 centimeters to the high cutting position of about 6 centimeters. One turn raises the machine 10 mm.
