Use & Care - Important:
Please read all instructions before using your French Press.
• Before Àrst use, pull and unscrew the steel plunger unit apart,
wash the lid, mesh Àlter, Àlter holder, plunger stem, handle
and ceramic carafe with hot soapy water, rinse and dry.
DO NOT use on stove. Boil water in a teakettle
or electric water kettle.
• Always use an oven mitt when handling hot carafe or plunger.
DO NOT plunge with force. Hot liquid may shoot out of carafe.
DO NOT place stainless steel parts in the microwave. Only the
stoneware carafe is microwave and dishwasher safe.
• Any marks created by the plunging action of steel against the
ceramic interior surface may be removed with Chantal ceramic
cleaner or other brand cleaners recommended on our web site.
• The coiled spring and mesh screen Àlter will need to
be replaced periodically. Parts available through

Step-by-Step Instructions:
French Press is a simple & practical way to
elegantly brew & serve fresh, full bodied coffee.
This process gives you control over the strength
& Áavor by adjusting brew time, grind type
& water temperature.
Items Needed:

• Coffee beans - medium to
coarse coffee grounds
• Fresh Àltered water
• Chantal’s Mia Ekettle

Step 6
After 3-5 minutes, GENTLY
press the plunger down as
the screen will push
the grinds to
the bottom.
Serve while
fresh & hot.*
*It is normal
to have some
grounds in the
bottom of
your cup.

Allow coffee
to brew
3-5 minutes.
Note: Finer
grounds will
leave more
sediment in
your cup!

Preheat the
French Press
carafe with
boiling water
for at least
1 minute
for best
temperature
retention.
Step 4
After 30 seconds,
add more hot
water up to the
ring line & then
gently place
the lid &
plunger
on top to
hold heat
inside.*
*DO NOT
press the
plunger, yet.
Step 3
Slowly Àll carafe
halfway with hot
water at 205°F*.
Then gently
stir in a
circular
motion to
release the
bitter acidic
gases. Wait
for about
30 seconds.

tablespoons
(30 gram)
of coffee
grounds for
each 8 oz.
of water.
Add coffee
grounds
to empty
carafe.
