bytightening.Theconnectorandplugare

keyed.Makecertainthattheplugisinserted

correctly,donotinserttheplugincorrectly

andforceit.

2. Pressthe buttontoturntheuniton.

3. Inserttheprobeintothematerialtobe

 measuredandreadthedisplay.

4. Pressthe buttontoturntheunitoff.To

conservebatterylife,alwaysturntheunitoff

whennotinuse.

SELECTING °F OR °C

1. Pressthe buttontoturntheunitoff.

2. Pressandholdthe buttonfor8seconds.

3. Continuetopressthe buttonwhenthe

displayshowsareading.Thedisplaywill

alternatebetweenshowingthetemperature

in°Fand°C.

4. Releasethe buttononcethedesired

measurementunitisdisplayed.



PROBE USE

Theprobeissuppliedwithaholderandferrel.The

ferrelmaybetightenedsothatwhileusingwiththe

holdertheprobemaybesetatthedesireddepth.

Theprobeandcablearewaterproof;however,for

extendedmeasurementperiods,donotleavethe

probehandleandcablesubmersed.Utilizethe

holderandferrelforextendedmeasurement.

ALL OPERATIONAL DIFFICULTIES

Ifthisthermometerdoesnotfunctionproperlyfor

anyreason,replacethebatterieswithnewhigh

qualitybatteries(seethe"BatteryReplacement"

section).Lowbatterypowercanoccasionally

causeanynumberof"apparent"operational

difficulties.Replacingthebatterieswithnew

freshbatterieswillsolvemostdifficulties.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

Erraticreadings,afaintdisplay,nodisplayor

appearingonthedisplayareallindications

thatthebatteriesmustbereplaced.Removethe

batterycoverbyremovingthesixbatterycover

screws.Removetheexhaustedbatteriesand

replacethemwith4newAAAAlkalinebatteries.

Makecertaintoinstallthenewbatteriesinthe

directionsindicatedinthebatterycompartment

(improperbatteryplacementmaycausedamage

totheelectronics).Replacebatterycoverand

tightenthe6screwssecurely.
