Instructions for use and maintenance

IMPORTANT!
1. Please read the manual carefully prior to installation and operation of the appliance.
2. Cookers do not contain materials posing environmental hazards.
3. Packaging materials are fit for recycling.
4. Please keep the packaging elements away from children as they may be dangerous.
5. A used cooker should be brought to a condition making it unfit for reuse. The power cord
should be cut off and the appliance should be handed over to a company specialising in the
disposal of recyclable materials.
6. The appliance should be installed after letting it stand for 8 hours in a kitchen with good
ventilation.
7. The appliance is not flue-connectable. It should be installed in accordance with the regulations
in force and operated only in a kitchen with good ventilation. You should take care that air
grates are kept open or install a forced ventilation system (cooker hood).
8. Before the appliance is installed, make sure that the local gas distribution conditions (gas type
and pressure) match the settings. Gas distribution conditions and settings are shown on the
name-plate.
9. Cooker connection to the internal gas installation or to an LP gas cylinder and its regulation
must be performed by an approved gas fitter or a fitter working for an approved service centre
– this should be confirmed in the guarantee certificate. Lack of such a confirmation makes the
guarantee null and void.
10. The manufacturer shall not be liable for injury or damage arising from incorrect installation or
improper use of the appliance.
11. In the event of any appliance fault, especially one involving gas leakage, the appliance should
be switched off and an authorised service centre should be contacted without delay. Defective
cookers should not be used.
12. Repair work of any nature carried out by the purchaser will render the guarantee null and void.
13. The cooker should be placed in line with kitchen furniture not exceeding 850 mm in height
(measured from the floor).
14. Do not attempt to lift the oven using the oven door handle.
15. The manufacturer reserves the right to introduce changes in order to modernise the product
and continuously improve its quality, without prior intimation to the users. Such changes will
not, however, render the product difficult to use.

1.5 IMPORTANT TIPS
1. During operation the cooker gets hot. It is recommended to take care and avoid touching any hot
elements inside the oven and storage space. Please pay special attention to small children and keep
them away from the appliance.
2. During oven operation the cover should be open at all times.
3. Switch off all the burners and let them cool down prior to closing the cover.
4. All cables connecting any mechanical household appliances used while cooking must be kept at a
safe distance from all hot parts. Please ensure that they do not get caught in the hot oven door.
5. Protective gloves must be used when removing pots from the hob or moulds from the oven.
6. Overheated fats and oils can easily catch fire. Therefore all dishes fried in oil or fat should never be
left unattended.
7. Always take care that the surface of the cover is clean and dry before opening it.
8. Always check if individual burner elements are well positioned before using them.
9. Flammable objects must be kept away from the burners.
10. Never line the oven with aluminium foil or put baking tins directly on the oven floor.
11. Do not keep any temperature-sensitive or flammable objects in the oven or storage space.
12. Do not overload the oven door when it is open. Do not sit or stand on it. Special attention must be paid
to children.
13. The appliance is not meant for use as a room heater.
14. In the event of gas leakage:
−
shut off the valve on the gas pipes or gas tank and switch off all burners,

−
ventilate the kitchen thoroughly (open doors and windows),
−
do not switch on electric appliances (including lighting),
−
report the failure to an authorised service centre or call an authorised and qualified technician,
15. Users are strongly advised not to:
−
make unauthorised cooker modifications to use another gas type, modify cooker gas and electric
systems or relocate the cooker,
−
carry out independent repairs, apart from those indicated in the operation manual,
−
use the cooker in a kitchen with insufficient ventilation.
1.6 PREPARATION
1. Check the cooker for visible damage after unpacking it. Do not install the cooker in the event of any
transport damage.
2. Remove all advertising stickers from the appliance and wash all parts carefully to remove all sticker
adhesive.
3. Clean enamel and glass surfaces with a soft, damp cloth.
4. Remove the oven accessories and wash them in warm water and liquid detergents.
5. Check the correct position of all burner parts.
6. Close the oven door and switch on the oven for approx. 30 minutes, setting the oven burner knob to
“8”(CFF 1054GC) or “3” (CFF 1054GA and CFF 1054GF). Wash and dry the oven when it has cooled
down.
2 INITIAL INSTALLATION
2.1 COOKER POSITIONING
• Kitchen should be dry.
• The appliance should be installed in a manner
allowing easy access to all control elements.
• The wall against which the cooker stands must be
made of non-inflammable material.
• Avoid installing the cooker between the door and
windows to avoid the impact of draughts on burner
operation.
• Adequate space should be provided above the
cooker, in order to permit kitchen vapours to escape.
It is advisable to fit an extractor hood above the
cooker for absorbing and removing any such
vapours. The headroom between the hood and the
gas hob should be at least 650 mm (fig. 4). No
kitchen units may be fitted immediately above the
cooker.
• Cooker accessories (inside the oven) include a
spacing sleeve.
• The cooker is fitted with two rear, adjustable feet for
levelling the device (it is best to use a spirit level).
Prior to the installation, the cooker should be levelled
by turning the feet accordingly.

After positioning, the cooker should be connected to the gas system or to an LP gas tank.

2.2 CONNECTION TO GAS SYSTEM
IMPORTANT!
Before connecting the cooker to a gas system make sure that the appliance is
compatible with the local gas distribution conditions (gas type and pressure). In the
event of incompatibility, replace the nozzles and adjust gas fittings.
•
The cooker is designed for use with gas type and pressure as given in the appliance name-plate.
•
The cooker is fitted with a G½” connector pipe. Connect the gas to the connection pipe using
appropriate fittings.
•
Check if the gas taps are closed before connecting.
2.2.1 NATURAL GAS CONNECTION
• The cooker can be connected to the household gas system with either rigid pipe or flexible hose in
metal sleeve, both complying with the local regulations.
• Gas system fixture line is provided with a stopcock. The stopcock should remain easily accessible
when the cooker is placed in line with other kitchen furniture.
2.2.2 LP GAS TANK CONNECTION
• The cooker can be adjusted for operation on LP gas. This requires nozzle replacement.
• If the purchaser intends to operate the cooker on LP gas, the cooker should not be installed in the
basement or any other area with the floor below the ground level as LP gas is heavier than air and
accumulates at the floor level.

Connection to LP gas tank should be with
a rubber tube complying with the local
regulations.
•
Length of the rubber tube must be in the
range of 1.2 m to 3 m. The hose must be
secured on both sides with hose clamps.
•
When connecting to LP gas tank, check if
the tank valve and reducer-tank
connections are leak-proof and fully
operational.
IMPORTANT!
1. Never check for leaks with an open flame (e.g. a match or a candle). This may
cause an explosion!
2. Perform periodic checks of the hose condition and connection tightness as
stipulated by local regulations.
3. Take care that the rubber hose does not touch the hot panel at the back of the
cooker.
4. Connection of the cooker to LP gas tank should be as shown in fig. 5. Connect the
cooker with a rigid metal pipe at least 500 mm long.

2.2.3 NOZZLE REPLACEMENT
Important!
Unplug the cooker from the mains prior to performing any nozzle replacement or
adjustment.
Nozzle replacement in surface burners
− shut the stopcock between the cooker and gas system/tank,
− close all cooker taps,
− remove all grids and burner lids/crowns (fig. 6),
− unscrew the existing nozzles with a spanner (fig. 7),
− mount new nozzles in accordance with Table 2; tighten the nozzles manually until home,
− place the spanner against the jet (fig. 7) and mark the spanner position with a line drawn in
pencil over the hotplate as shown in fig. 8,
− turn the spanner clockwise by its width, i.e. so that it moves to the other side of the line (fig. 8).
Important!
Turning the spanner any further may damage the appliance.
− Put the burner lids/crowns back in the drip tray.

1. remove the screws holding the rear panel and take the panel
off,
2. pull off the metal clip connecting the gas pipe to the oven
burner body,
3. remove the gasket and nozzle,
4. put in the new nozzle and re-insert the gasket,
5. pull the metal clip on the oven burner body and mount the rear
panel.

2.3 COOKER ADJUSTMENT

Do not completely remove the adjusting screw while adjusting the taps.

Adjustment of a surface burner tap consists of setting the minimum flame size.
Adjustment procedure:
− turn the tap to allow gas flow and switch on the burner
− put the tap in
position (economy) and take it off the pivot without changing the position,
− turn the adjustment screw “A” (fig. 12) and watch the flame; set the flame height so that it does not
get blown out with a slight draught or when quickly changing the tap position from full to economy
and back,
− adjustment is correct when the flame core is a greenish-blue cone of approx. 2-4mm,
− if gas pressure in the gas supply system varies visibly (changed flame size at full flow), the minimum
(economy) flame should be adjusted while the pressure is low in the system to avoid flame-outs
during normal operation,
− when the tap adjustment is complete, put the tap back on the pivot and turn the burner off.
Gas consumption at the economy setting is about 25% of full flow consumption.

2.3.2 OVEN BURNER TAP ADJUSTMENT
After change of the gas type (from natural to liquid), regulation screw ”B” (fig. 12) has to be turned to the
maximum right position.
After nozzle replacement, the taps of surface burners grill burner and the oven burner must be re-adjusted.
2.4 CONNECTION TO THE MAINS

When connecting the supply cable to the mains bear in mind the
following:
− yellow-green wire shall be connected to earth terminal identified
,
− blue wire is the neutral,
− brown, black and red wires shall be connected to live terminals,
− any lead must never touch hot surfaces over 75
0
C,
− if the cooker comes without mains cable, use cable type H05RR-F
or H05V2V2 sized as specified below.
3 GAS HOB
3.1 PRINCIPLES OF USE
• Do not open the stopcock on gas pipe/tank until you make sure that all cooker taps are closed.
• Do not put empty pots over the flame.
• Place pots centrally over burners and take care that their handles cannot get knocked easily or get
heated by the flames of adjacent burners.
• Turn the flame down or off before taking a pot off the hob.
• Do not remove grids to put the pots directly on the flame.
• Do not put deformed or unstable pots on the grid as they may get knocked over and flood the burners.
• Keep the burners and ignition clean and avoid food overspills and burner flooding as dirt has an
adverse impact on burner operation.
• Proper and economic use of burners is achieved by:
− setting a suitable flame size,
− appropriate choice of pots.

1. Gas flows for individual burners are opened/closed with tap knobs.
2. Before switching on a burner it is necessary to check whether the knob intended for use corresponds
to the given burner. Correspondence between the knobs and burners is illustrated in fig. 14.
3. The flame should not reach beyond the pot base but cover about 2/3 of the pot base area. Such
operation achieves gas economy and avoids blackening of the pot base by the flame.
4. Flame size depends on knob position (fig. 15). Setting the knob on
results in a large flame. This
flame should be used until the food starts boiling after which it should be set to small flame
.
5. Flame should be adjusted in the range between and .
3.2 SWITCHING BURNERS ON AND OFF
3.2.1 SWITCHING ON
The cooker is equipped with a flame failure safety device which cuts off the gas flow to the burner when
the flame is extinguished, e.g. by overflowing food.

−
turn the knob of the selected burner counter-clockwise,
press the knob all the way in and, while keeping it
pressed in, press the ignition button,
−
when the burner has ignited, keep the knob pressed in
for about 5 seconds to allow the flame failure device to
energise,
−
if the flame goes out, repeat all the steps, keeping the
knob pressed for about 5 seconds longer,
−
release the knob and set the desired size of the flame.

If the flame has accidentally extinguished, close the gas flow and wait for at least 1 minute before
attempting to reignite the burner.
3.2.2 SWITCHING OFF
Turn the burner knob clockwise to the “
0
” (zero) position.
3.2.3 OPERATING A COOKER USING LP GAS FROM A GAS TANK
Open the stopcock on the gas tank before switching on any burner and then follow the instructions given
above.
While switching off the gas flow, before switching off the last burner you should:
−
shut the stopcock on the gas tank,
−
switch off the tap of this burner if the flame goes out.
While the cooker is not in use, the stopcock should be kept shut.
3.3 CHOICE OF COOKWARE
• Pots should not be excessively high. The best proportion of pot height to its base diameter is 2:3.
• The base of the pot must always be clean and dry so that there is good heat conduction and retention.
• Pots should be covered during cooking to prevent excessive vapour from escaping into the kitchen.

In the gas oven, dishes are heated from below.
•
Open the oven door and ventilate the oven before switching it on.
•
The oven burner is protected from uncontrolled gas flow after flame-out, e.g. due to flooding (flame
failure protection).
•
When the oven burner is turned on, the temperature reaches steady state after approx. 5 minutes and
is maintained for the selected knob setting. The oven can reach the preset temperature only with
its door closed.

• The oven burner knob opens and closes the gas flow and enables the user to set a required
temperature in the oven. The required temperature in the oven can be achieved only with the
oven door closed.
• When opening the gas flow turn the knob in the direction indicated by the arrow and when closing the
flow – in the opposite direction. Settings from 1 to 3 are marked on the knob (fig. 19), corresponding
to temperatures indicated in table 3.

• The oven burner knob (fig. 20) enables you to open and close the gas inflow to the oven burner or gas
grill burner
• Opening the gas inflow:
1. Oven burner – turn the knob in counter-clockwise direction and set it somewhere within the “B”
range.
2. Grill burner – turn the knob in the “A” direction and set it to position
• Cutting the gas inflow to both burners – turn the knob in the direction opposite to the opening and set it
to the “0” position.
While using the oven burner, the temperature in the oven can be regulated in the “B” range, i.e. from 1
through 8 position (fig. 20). The positions roughly correspond to the temperatures given in table 4. The
temperature required in the oven only be achieved with the oven door closed.

3.5 SWITCHING OVEN BURNER ON AND OFF
Switch the oven burner on at the maximum gas flow and then turn the flame down.

open the oven door completely and light a match,
−
press the oven burner knob in as far as it goes, turn it anti-clockwise and apply a burning match to
the oven burner lighting port (fig. 21); when the gas has started burning, keep the knob
pressed for some 3s to activate the flame failure protection,
−
release the knob – the burner should continue to operate,
−
if the flame goes off, repeat the above operations, prolonging the knob press-in time by another
3s.

Turn the oven burner knob clockwise to the “0” (zero) position.
4.2 IGNITING THE GRILL BURNER
– open the oven door completely,
– light a match,
– press down the oven knob and turn it in the “A” direction to position
(fig. 22) and move the
burning match toward the grill burner openings; when the burner has ignited, keep the knob
pressed down for another 10 seconds,
– release the knob,
– if the flame goes out, repeat the whole operation, keeping the knob pressed down about 5 seconds
longer.

WARNING !
The oven compartment becomes very hot while in use. Take great care and avoid touching hot
parts inside the oven.
3.6 BAKING CAKES
• For baking cakes, traditional metal cake tins may be used as well as Teflon, ceramic or glass cake
trays (fig. 23). Before first use, all metal cake tins must be baked in a well-heated oven. The tray
supplied by the manufacturer should not be used for baking cakes.
• Before putting a cake into the oven, pre-heat the oven for approx. 10 minutes with the oven door shut
to attain uniform temperature inside the oven.
• The pre-heating and baking temperatures and the baking time should be selected in line with the type
of cake or another dish cooked and as given in the recipe.
• Be careful when pre-heating the oven. Oven pre-heating is recommended for heavy or large cakes. If
you put a cake into an over-heated oven, the cake will not rise and may become slack.
• Cakes rise during the initial phase of baking. Fast-rising cakes should be baked at lower temperatures
so that the surface of the cake does not get brown too fast. In the final phase of baking, lower the
temperature so that the cake does not get too dry or the crust too thick.
• Cake tins should be filled with cake mixture up to 2/3 of the capacity, thus allowing ample room for
cakes to rise.

• Cake size and consistency must be taken into consideration when selecting the temperature and the
baking time.
• Dishes containing food should be placed in the centre of the gridiron, at any oven level. Observation
and experience help in choosing the best level for a particular dish.
• In order to check whether the cake is baked, it should be pierced with a thin wooden rod a few minutes
before switching off the oven. The cake is ready if it does not stick to the wooden rod. After baking the
cake should be kept in the oven for about 5 minutes.
• The following are recommended when using the oven:
− do not use the oven for storage purposes,
− cake tins, casseroles and dishes for roasting meat should be placed on the gridiron and not on
the tray (figures 25 and 26),
− when selecting cooking parameters, take the type of cookware to be used into consideration;
dishes have different levels of heat conduction depending on their material, wall thickness and
colour.

3.7 ROASTING MEAT
• Ceramic, glass, enamelled steel and cast-iron cookware with extremely heat-resistant handles may be
used (fig. 24) for meat. Cookware should be relatively low, as this increases heating efficiency. Meat
can also be grilled directly on the gridiron. In such a situation place a receptacle underneath to collect
the dripping fat.
• Place meat the fatty side upwards. The fat will spread over the meat.
• Roasting temperature should match the meat type and size. The larger the meat piece, the longer the
roasting time and the lower the temperature should be. Small pieces of meat require shorter roasting
time and higher temperatures.
• Check if the meat is ready by piercing it with a fork. If no juice comes out, the meat is roasted.

4 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Prior to cleaning the appliance, unplug it from the power supply.
4.1 GENERAL REMARKS
• The cooker should be kept clean. The following may not be used for cleaning: abrasive powder
cleaners, metal scouring pads, aggressive chemical agents or sharp objects.
• Knobs, dials and the control panel should be cleaned with mild liquid detergents containing no abrasive
agents.
• For enamelled parts use a soft brush or sponge moistened with warm water containing mild detergents,
avoiding excessive water. For heavily soiled surfaces use kitchen-cleaning agents.
• Burners and igniters must be kept clean and dry to ensure their trouble-free operation. They should be
cleaned periodically and after any food overspill to remove all tarnish and soiling.
• Take the dirty grids off the hotplates, soak them in warm water with detergent and then wash and dry
them.
• Immediately after use, trays and tins for baking and roasting should be soaked in warm water with
detergent and then washed and wiped dry.
• Oven door gasket should be kept clean.

Removing the cover:

remove both pins holding the cover,

Clean the cover with a sponge or soft cloth using a mild detergent, rinse, wipe dry and put away.

4.3 CLEANING THE GAS HOB AND BURNERS
• Before cleaning, take off the grid, burner lids and crowns.
• For the enamelled hob surface use a soft cloth or sponge moistened with warm water containing a mild
detergent.
• The hob surface around the burner should be kept clean at all times. This is important, since during
normal operation the dirt accumulating in the slit between the burner crown and hob affects the gas-
burning efficiency.

• Avoid excessive moisture when cleaning the hotplate, as water
could get into the drip tray and flood the burner nozzle (fig. 28). If
the nozzle is flooded, the burner will not ignite.
• Keep the burner nozzle clean at all times. Dirt may clog the
nozzle, which results in reduced gas flow or stoppage. The
nozzle should be cleaned with a small paintbrush dipped in a
solvent.
• Soak burner lids and crowns in warm water containing detergent
and then wash every part separately.
• Burner parts can be washed with a sponge or soft brush, and flame orifices can be cleaned with a steel
pin. Check the flame orifices for any obstructions after washing.
• Carefully dry all burner parts, as moisture can prevent gas burning or cause improper burning. Put the
burner crowns and lids when dry back in place, taking care not to damage the automatic ignition units.
4.4 CLEANING THE OVEN
IMPORTANT!
1. Never clean the oven with pressurised steam equipment.
2. Best clean the oven after every use to avoid baking food remnants and oil splashes.
• The oven chamber is coated with ceramic enamel. For enamel surfaces use kitchen-cleaning agents.
Avoid excessive moisture.
• For removing difficult baking stains, special oven cleaning agents are recommended. However, these
agents are caustic and therefore should be used in small quantities and with utmost care. Please follow
the manufacturer’s instructions carefully.
• Model CFF 1054GC is equipped with side catalytic shields, which have self-cleaning properties l.
During normal usage the interior of the oven becomes heated to high temperatures, in this way the
catalytic enamel can easier absorb emitted vapours.
• In the models CFF 1054GC periodically, particularly after roasting very fat meals, it is recommended to
make a self-cleaning cycle. Switch the oven on for an hour and select the maximum temperature
(250
0
C). During that time the oven door should be closed. During self-cleaning process dirt from the
catalytic shields will oxidize and evaporate.
• After some time the catalytic shields lose their self-cleaning features, and their surface becomes
shining, then you should exchange them.

5 TROUBLESHOOTING
IMPORTANT!
Prior to any attempt at defect removal, unplug the cooker from the power supply to
avoid electric shock.

During the warranty period, any repairs except those listed below should be carried out only by an
authorised service centre.
•
After the warranty period, the user should have an authorised and qualified technician perform periodic
checks of the appliance.
•
If there are any problems while using the appliance, read the instructions below to check whether you
can rectify the fault on your own.
Gas does not start burning
•
Dirty burner nozzle or flame orifices. Turn off the burner taps, clean and carefully dry individual burner
parts, removing any obstruction with a piece of thin copper wire. Do not use steel wire and do not ream
the orifice.
Ignition does not operate (no spark)
• Broken electrical installation circuit. Check if the cooker plug is connected to the mains socket. Check
the household fuse system and replace any fuses that are blown.
• Dirt has got lodged between the ignition and the burner. Clean and carefully dry individual burner parts
and automatic ignition units.
Broken feeder cable
• A broken feeder cable should be replaced only by the manufacturer, an authorised service centre or a
qualified electrician to avoid hazards.
When the appliance reaches the end of its service life, you should not dispose of it with the
general domestic waste.
It can be taken free of charge to the local administrations' specific selective collection
centres, or to distributors who provide this service.
Separating a domestic appliance before disposing of it means you will prevent possible
negative consequences for the environment and health which may be given rise to by
incorrect disposal, and it means the materials making it up can be treated and recycled,
obtaining important savings on energy and resources.
To remind you that you must collaborate with a selective collection scheme,
there is a symbol on the product warning you not to dispose of it in
traditional refuse containers.
