OPERATING MANUAL
Preface This operating manual should make it easier to get to know the machine and make use of
its intended applications.
The operating manual contains important information on how to operate the machine
safely, properly and economically. Your close attention helps avoid risk, repair costs and
downtime, and increase the reliability and lifetime of the machine.
The operating manual is to be supplemented by directives for accident prevention and
environmental protection, according to applicable national requirements.
The operating manual is to be kept permanently available at the machine location.
The operating manual must be read and used by each person assigned to work with the
machine, e.g.:
Operating, including tooling, troubleshooting during operating, correction of
production rejects, service, disposal of operating and auxiliary materials
Maintenance (service, inspection, repair) and/or
Transport
Along with the operating manual and the valid legal regulations for accident prevention in
the country of use and the place of use, also recognized technical regulations for safety
and proper work are to be observed.
Required tool In order for the core drill motor to be operated, a tool - in the form of a diamond drill bit - is
required. These tools can be purchased from LISSMAC Maschinenbau GmbH.
Changes and reservations We attempt for this operating manual to be correct and up-to-date. To maintain our

FEATURES & BENEFITS
With their compact, lightweight, ergonomic design, the CDM 20 P provides simple, user-friendly wet or dry drilling
every day on the construction site. The clamping collar ensures convenient control of the core drill using a clamping
handle for hand-guided drilling as well as easy mounting on core drilling stand for guided core drilling.
Three gear levels permit optimum speed selection adapted to the specific core drill diameter
Safety is ensured by high-performance switch off electronics and integrated PRCD switch

1.1. Basics of intended use
The warranty obligation of the manufacturer and supplier is voided for improper or non-intended use.
Any change to the machine which is not carried out by the manufacturer is prohibited. Changes,
removal or addition of parts only with the written approval of the manufacturer.
The machine is constructed according to the state of the art and recognized technical safety rules.
However, danger to life and limb of the user or third parties, and/or damage to the machine or other
property may still arise from its use.
Only use the machine in technically faultless condition and for intended use, aware of safety and
danger complying with the operating manual. You should particularly handle malfunctions which can
compromise safety immediately, or have them addressed by experts.
Intended use The LISSMAC core drill motor CDM 20 is a wet and dry core drill machine and belongs to the device
class of core drilling equipment. The core drill is used in combination with a diamond core drill, to drill
round holes in stone, concrete and composite materials.
The machine can be used for dry and wet core drilling. When drilling without water a suitable and
authorized dust extraction must be used.
This machine can be used as a manual drill or in a drill stand.
Intended use also includes compliance with the operating manual and observance of inspection and
maintenance manual.
Non-intended use Foreseeable misuse / non-intended use:
The following materials may not be drilled: Wood, plastics, metal and glass etc.
(except for reinforcement in concrete)
Drilling without dust extraction (when drilling without water)
Drilling in areas with explosion hazard
Drilling upwards with water
Building changes, which alter the safety or the core drill motor design type.
ATTENTION! Read the following instructions slowly and carefully before operating the core drill
motor. Non-compliance with these instructions can lead to serious injuries and accidents.

1.2. Organisational measures
The operating manual must be easily accessible for each person at the location of the core drill motor.
Supplements to the operating manual and all generally valid legal and otherwise binding regulations
for accident prevention and environmental protection must be followed.
Such obligations may also apply, for example, to the handling of hazardous materials or the wearing
of personal protective gear or traffic regulations.
Personnel assigned to activities on the core drill motor must have read and understood the operating
manual, particularly the Safety Instructions chapter, before starting work. This particularly applies to
personnel only occasionally involved, e.g. tooling and service.
Regularly perform checks for safe and hazard awareness work by operators in compliance with the
operating manual.
Follow all setup, maintenance, and inspection activities and schedules prescribed by the operating
manual, including all information about the replacement of parts / assemblies! These activities may
only be carried out by technical personnel.
Inform operating personnel before beginning special and maintenance work. Name a supervisor.
If the machine is turned off during maintenance and repair work, it must be secured against
unexpected application of power.
During service and repair work, always tighten loose bolt joints.
If dismantling is required for fitting, servicing and repair, the safety fittings must be remounted and
checked immediately following the service and repair work.
Keep all safety instructions and danger warnings on the core drill motor and in legible condition!
Replace safety and danger instructions that are damaged or illegible.
For safety-related changes to the machine or its running behavior, stop the machine immediately and
mark it accordingly. Report the problem to the responsible post/person.
No changes, removal or addition of parts without the written approval of the manufacturer.
The instructions of the tool manufacturer must be followed.
Only use tested original replacement parts from the manufacturer.
Observe required or prescribed deadlines given in the operating manual for inspection.
Workshop equipment suitable for the work is necessary for performing maintenance actions.

1.3. Personnel choice and personnel qualification; basic responsibilities
Only qualified personnel 18 years of age or older may operate the core drill motor independently. All
personnel must be trained in the operation and be explicitly, in writing, authorized by the company to
operate the core drill motor.
This machine is intended for use by an experienced construction worker in construction zones. Any
other use of the machine than described in the operating manual is considered improper use and is
prohibited.
Establish responsibilities of the personnel for operating, changeover, servicing, and repairing the
machine.
Make sure that only authorized personnel works at the machine.
The operator must wear personal safety equipment according to the safety regulations, such as safety
shoes, safety gloves and safety glasses.
Remaining in the working area of the core drill motor unnecessarily is prohibited. Direct any other
personnel, away from the work area. Block off the working area, if necessary.
During all movement of the core drill motor, operating personnel must ensure that they and other
people are not endangered. All obstacles which may hinder the operation or repositioning of the
machine at the location of use must be removed.
Work on the electrical equipment of the machine may only be carried out by qualified electricians or
trained personnel under the management and supervision of a qualified electrician, and in accordance
with the rules of electronics.
Working with the core drill motor is prohibited if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Always keep your main focus on the equipment when using it. If you cannot concentrate on the
drilling work, do not operate the device.
Any personnel training, learning, being instructed, or currently involved in general education may only
work with the machine under the continual supervision of an experienced person.
1.4. Safety instructions for operation phases
1.4.1. Transport, assembly and installation
Transport, assembly and installation at/on the core drill motor may only be done when the diamond
drill bit is removed, the motor is switched off and the mains plug is pulled out.
The transport may only be done, as long as all machine parts are tightened on the machine and
individual parts cannot fall off. The tool may not rotate any more.
Never carry the Machine by the power cord or at the handle with the switch pressed.

1.4.2. Commissioning
When inserting the tool, protect hands against sharp edges.
Ensure that the floor on which cuts are to be made fulfils load carrying capacities. All obstacles must
be cleared away from the cutting area and the work area must have sufficient lighting.
Visual inspection of the whole core drill motor for damages and defects. Special check of the safety
equipment.
No rotating tools which have a maximum rotation speed smaller than the nominal speed of the
machine can be used.
Defective or broken tools must be replaced immediately.
1.5. Safety instructions for drilling
Change the gear setting only after the spindle has stopped completely.
Do not forget to turn off the core drill motor before connecting to the power supply.
Check the core drill motor for water leaks before use.
No upwards wet-drilling.
Make sure that the water is pumped away from the cutting location.
Avoid skin contact with the cutting slurry.
The operator must be present at all times when the core drill motor is being used.
Keep hands, Kable and hoses away from moving parts.
Be sure to stand firmly with both feet on the ground during drilling.
Wear a face protection mask that filters the dust particles in the air.
Tools may only be used for their intended purpose.
Visually inspect the core drill motor before use for signs of possible problems.
During use, vibrations are generated around the entire machine.
Before beginning work, check that all external fastening elements are properly tightened.
Pay attention to standing securely and balanced when working with the machine. Make sure that you
maintain a firm grip on both handles.
Advance the drillbit slowly and in steps to avoid slipping or jerking movements . Avoid any contact
with the running tool.
For all drill work, the core drill and the core drill motor become extremely hot. Be careful when close
to metal surfaces as these surfaces can cause burns. Do not touch these surfaces.
Never switch off the drilling machine by pulling on the power plug. This causes the machine to run
automatically when it is reconnected to the power supply.

1.5.1. Danger for the operator by the machine
Before leaving the operating position on the machine, the drive motor must be shut down and the tool
must no longer rotate.
The drive motor of the machine must only be put in drilling for intended use.
Always practice necessary caution and ensure sufficient lighting at the workplace.
Electrical tools must not be used near flammable liquids and gasses or in rain or snow.
This machine must only be used in dry surroundings.
Keep a safe distance from earthed objects e.g. water and heating pipes.
Make sure that there are no electrical wires laid there where you want to drill.
Before connecting the machine to mains, check that it is switched off.
Clothing worn at the workplace must be close-fitting so that it cannot be caught by moving parts.
Remove all loose objects. If you have long hair, tie it back or use a hairnet.
The machine produces a very high torque. The auxiliary handle must be installed for all manually
guided drilling operations. The machine has built-in security devices. Even though the machine can
produce a kick-back if it gets stuck, resulting in hazardous impact to the users joints. We recommend
the use of a drill-stand whenever possible.
Never work alone. Another person must be at hand to help or to assist in case of an accident.
1.5.2. Electric power
The device may only be used for its intended purpose. The machine is only to be used within the
intended scope of use to prevent hazardous defects.
In case of malfunctions, turn off the machine immediately. Electrical work may only be carried out by
technical and qualified personnel.
The machine's electrical equipment must be inspected/checked regularly. Faults such as loose
connections or damaged cables must be corrected immediately. The machine must be labelled so that
it cannot be started by others.
Only use extension cords that are intended for use outside. Check the extension cord for exposed
wires before connecting. Completely unroll the cord to avoid unnecessary heat build-up. Use cable
with a wire cross-section that is suitable for the respective electrical load.
Electrical devices must be disconnected from the power supply when not being used, during
maintenance and when in a condition that is not ready for operation.

1.5.3. Dust
When working in close quarters, follow any applicable national guidelines.
Working with the core drill motor is a grinding process that generates very fine respirable mineral
dust. This may cause lung damage known as silicosis. For dry-cutting processes, the machine may only
be used together with a mounted extraction pipe and a suitable dust extraction system.
1.5.4. Protective equipment
Wear a hardhat, safety gloves, hearing protection and safety glasses.
A half-face respirator with N95 /APF 10 class filter (filter class P2 or P3 as per DIN EN 149:2001) or
better has to be worn by the operator and people in direct vicinity. Do not breathe in unfiltered
masonry particles, since these particles are hazardous to your health.
1.5.5. Maintenance and repair work
Always inspect tools and working materials for wear. Maintain the service intervals indicated in the
respective operating manuals. Do not use any working materials that are not capable of functioning
completely, or their on/off switch is defective. Repairs may only be done by appropriately authorized
technicians.
1.5.6. Spare Parts and Accessories
Only use original spare parts and accessories supplied from the factory. Non-compliance with these
instructions can lead to premature failures or compatibility problems. Devices with loose individual
parts must not be used.
1.6. Packaging and Storage
To ensure sufficient protection during shipping and transport, the machine and its components are
carefully packaged. When receiving the machine, the machine should be checked for damage. The
packaging of the device consists of materials which can be recycled. Put these by type into the
relevant recycling containers, so that they can be recycled properly.
In the case of damage, the machine must not be put into operation. Even damaged cable and plugs
represent a safety risk and must not be used. In this case, please contact the manufacturer.
If the machine is not immediately put into operation after unpacking, it must be protected from
moisture and dirt.
1.7. Environmental protection
Packaging material, cleaning agents, used or residual operating materials, as well as removed wear
parts, such as drive belts or motor oils must be taken to recycling corresponding to the valid
regulations for environmental protection at the place of use.

1.8. Disposal
Dispose of the device according to the valid regulations for environmental protection of your country.
Electrical waste may not be disposed of in household waste. Take the used device to a central rubbish
collection center.
