Manitowoc Ice 7628973 Stacking Relay Kit

Installation Instructions
This relay kit is used to stop the operation of both stacked ice machines, when the bottom ice machine is turned off or in an
auto-shutdown mode (full bin of ice). It can only be utilized with 230 volt, 50/60 Hz., 1 phase ice machines.
STEP 1. Disconnect power.
STEP 2. Drill 1/2 inch (.50) hole in the back corner
posts of both ice machines in area indicated.
Install two plastic black bushings into drilled
holes.
STEP 3. Route wire harness through bushings from top
electrical box to bottom electrical box.
STEP 4. Using double-face tape, mount relay in bottom
ice machine electrical box.
STEP 5. Wire the stacking kit relay according to wire diagram on reverse side.
A. Relay coil
connects to the terminal board in the bottom ice machine.
B. Relay Contact
is wired in series with the bin switch in the top ice machine.
1) Disconnect the wire of the bin switch, connected to ground,
in the top ice machine.
2) Using new connector supplied, connect the wire disconnected from the ground to the new wire harness
connected to the relay contacts.
3) Connect the other lead of wire harness to cabinet ground in the top ice machine (same ground that the bin switch
wire used to be connected to).
