Before Beginning..
For safety issues, it is highly recommended that all users wear
gloves during installation. Also, if you have any questions during

Removing the front panel
The NZXT Zero 2 front panel needs to be removed when installing
the front fan. Please follow the steps below to remove the front
panel.
NOTE: CPU, RAM and any peripheral installation are not
included in this manual. Please refer to your motherboard manual
for related mountin

1. With the panel facing forward, use one hand to hold the case
in place.
2. Place the other hand on the opening at the bottom of the
front panel and pull to detach.
Power Supply Installation
Please refer to the case interior infrastructure and secure the power
supply at the back of the case by using the screws provided.
Installing the power supply
Motherboard Installation
The NZXT Zero 2 supports the following motherboard: ATX, FLEX
ATX, MINI ATX, and MICRO ATX. The Index for the standoff holes
are as follows. ( Imprinted on the motherboard tray are serial
numbers that match certain motherboards )
A1~A9 ATX
F1~F6 FLEX ATX
M1~M9 MINI ATX
U1~U9 MICRO ATX

In order to install your motherboard go through the following steps:
1. Lay your case down so you can see the drive cages and the
standoff holes on the motherboard tray.
2. Take your motherboard and match the standoff holes.
3. Remembering which standoff holes your motherboard
needs, go ahead and screw the brass standoffs onto the
motherboard tray. ( Note: If you find that some holes are
unused, this is normal, this case is made to support for many
motherboard sizes )
4. Place your motherboard on top of the brass standoffs and
attach it to the tray using screws provided.
LED, Speaker, Power and Reset Installation
Please refer first to your motherboard manual to find where your
power switch and reset pins are located. The colors following each
instruction designate the color of the wires.
1. Connect the reset switch (labeled RESET SW) by
connecting to your motherboard RESET connector. Make
sure you always attach the white wire to ground. (Blue/White
+/-)
2. Connect the power switch pin (labeled POWER SW) to the
PWR connector on the motherboard. (Orange/White +/-)
3. Connect the HDD LED (labeled H.D.D LED) to the
appropriate headers on your motherboard. The HDD LED
located on the front panel should flash green when there is
activity in the hard drive. (Green/White, +/-)
4. Connect the POWER LED (labeled P LED in Blue/White +/-)
to the appropriate headers on your motherboard. The
POWER LED located on the front panel should light up the
blue LED located on the front door upon system power up.
5. Connect the four pin Molex leading from the front panel to
activate the curved blue LED stripe at the bottom of the front
panel.
All White and Black Pin Connectors correspond to ground.

USB Installation
1. The USB connection is located of the top of your front panel
2. Refer to your motherboard manual and match the labels on
the USB port connectors with your motherboard in order to
install.
Audio Port Installation
1. Please first refer to your motherboard manual and match the
labels on the audio port connectors on the case with your
motherboard.
2. The green input is the speaker input and the pink input is the
microphone input, these inputs are located at the top of the
case.

5.25” & 3.5” Drive Installation
The NZXT Zero 2 uses a screwless rail system to install the 5.25”
and 3.5” devices. There are three types of rails for the hard drives,
3.5” external drives, and 5.25” external drives.
Please follow the directions below to install the 5.25 and 3.5”
devices:
1. Remove both the left and right side panels.
2. Remove the plastic bay cover
3. Attach the rails to the two sides of the device. If the rails do
not fit, use screws to manually attach the rails.

4. Slide the device into the drive bay where it will lock.

5. To remove all devices pull the two tabs and pull it out.
Removing a 3.5” internal device
Removable Filters
1. The Zero 2 case comes with two removable filters. The front
fan filter removal is covered under Fan installation. In the
following steps, the instruction will guide you on the removal
of the bottom filter.
Push down from the center of the four black pins to unlock the filter.

Zero 2 Fan Installation
Front Fan Installation
1. Begin the installation process by removing the front panel.
Complete this step by firmly pulling the opening at the
bottom of the front panel.
2. Unscrew the four screws on the fan and remove the filter
and fan.
3. Replace the fan and secure it back onto the case. Be sure to
screw on the filter simultaneously.
Unscrew the screws at the four sides of the filter to unlock the fan
and filter.
Top Fan Installation
1. Begin the installation process by removing the side panel.
2. Unscrew the four screws from the top of the case and
replace the fan. The location of the screws and fan is
displayed in the next figure.

1. Remove the side panel
2. Unscrew the four screws to detach the filter
3. Wash the filter and reinstall
Remove the four screws at the corners of the filter ( note: fans in the
photo are not included )
