Warning
To reduce the risk of fire or

The unit not disconnect form the mains
as long as it is connected to the AC
outlet, even if unit itself has been turned
off.

5) Do not use this apparatus near

7) Do not block any ventilation slit on
the backside. Install in accordance
with the manufacturer’s instructions.
8) Do not install near any heat sources

stoves, or other apparatus (including
amplifiers) that produce heat.
9) Do not defeat the safety purpose of
the polarized or grounding-type
plug. A polarized plug has two
blades with one wider than the
other. A grounding type plug has
two blades and a third grounding
prong. The wide blade or the third
prong are provided for your safety. If
the provided plug does not fit into
your outlet, consult an electrician for
replacement of the obsolete outlet.

walked on or pinched particularly at

Data transmission is always initiated by
software, which is the passed down
through the MAC, through the digital
and analog baseband, and finally to the
RF chip. Several special packets are
initiated by the MAC. These are the only
ways the digital baseband portion will
turn on the RF transmitter, which it then
turns off at the end of the packet.
Therefore, the transmitter will be on only
while one of the aforementioned
packets is being transmitted. In other
words, this device automatically
discontinues transmission in case of
either absence of information to
transmit or operational failure.

On safety
Should any solid object or liquid fall
into the subwoofer, unplug the
subwoofer and have it checked by
qualified personnel before operating
it any further.
Do not climb on the subwoofer, as you
may fall down and injure yourself, or
subwoofer damage may result.
Before operating the subwoofer, check
that the operating voltage is identical
to your local power supply.
If you are not going to use the
subwoofer for a long time, be sure to
disconnect the subwoofer from the
wall outlet (mains). To disconnect the
AC power cord (mains lead), grasp the
plug itself; never pull the cord.
AC power cord (mains lead) must be
changed only at the qualified service
shop.
On placement
Place the subwoofer in a location with
adequate ventilation to prevent heat
buildup and prolong the life of the
subwoofer.
Do not place the subwoofer near heat
sources, or in a place subject to direct
sunlight, excessive dust, or mechanical
shock.
Use caution when placing the
subwoofer on surfaces that have been
specially treated (with wax, oil, polish,
etc.) as staining or discoloration of the
surface may result.
Take care to avoid any possible injury
on the corners of the subwoofer.

Please keep the back panel (a side
with the switch) away from the wall
more than 5cm. Prevent something
like cloth from blocking up the
ventilation slit.

On operation
Before connecting other equipment, be
sure to turn off and unplug the
subwoofer.
On cleaning
Clean the subwoofer with a soft dry
cloth. Do not use any type of abrasive
pad, scouring powder or solvent such as
alcohol or benzine.
If you have any question or problem
concerning your subwoofer, please
consult your nearest Sony dealer.

with other terminals on TV physically,
depending on the position of USB
terminal you connected.
4 Connect the AC power

the subwoofer to the

It is recommended that the Subwoofer is
placed as close as possible to the TV.

Using the
subwoofer
About the power state
The subwoofer would be turned
on automatically when you turn
on the TV.
Then it would enter standby mode
and the / indicator lights in red,
when the TV is in standby mode.
You can also turn the subwoofer to
standby mode by TV’s menu,
during TV is turned on.
If you want to turn off the
subwoofer, you can operate by
/ button on the subwoofer. /
indicator would not light up during
the subwoofer is turned off.
About the sound
adjustment
You can adjust subwoofer level,
cut-off frequency and phase by
TV’s menu.
Refer to the TV’s instruction
manual.
Activating wireless
transmission
between specific
units
You can specify the wireless
connection to be used to link the
Wireless Transceiver to the
subwoofer using the Secure Link
function.
This function is useful when you
use multiple wireless products.

the Wireless
Transceiver (the LED
indicator lights and
flashes in amber).

3 Both LEDs light in solid

the subwoofer makes

To cancel this
operation, press the

Cancelling the
Secure Link
function
Press and hold SECURE
button on the Wireless
Transceiver for several
seconds until the LED
indicator turns off.

If the LED indicator on the Subwoofer
is still blinking amber, press and hold
SECURE button on the rear of the
subwoofer for several seconds until the
/ indicator turns green or flashes in
green.

Information
Troubleshooting
If you experience any of the
following difficulties while using
the system, use this
troubleshooting guide to help
remedy the problem before
requesting support. Should any
problem persist, consult your
nearest Sony dealer. When
bringing the system in for repairs,
be sure to bring in the entire
system. This product is a system
product, and the entire system is
needed to determine the part
requiring repair.
No TV sound is output from
the subwoofer.
Check the connection of the audio
cable that is connected to the
wireless transceiver and the TV.
Check the sound output of the TV.
When sound does not come out,
confirm the sound output settings
of the TV and the volume of the TV
speaker.
Check the status of / indicator on
the subwoofer:
Turns off.
- Check that the AC power cord
(mains lead) of the subwoofer is
securely connected.
- Turn the subwoofer on by
pressing / button on the
subwoofer.

Stays lit in red:
- Check the location of the
subwoofer.
- Do not place the TV and
subwoofer in a metal cabinet.
- Place the subwoofer close to the
TV in a room.
- Make sure that the wireless
transceiver is inserted correctly
into the TV.
- Please confirm that power
setting of Wireless Subwoofer of
TV is Auto.
Flashes in green or amber slowly
or turns red:
- Make the Secure Link setting
again.
- Sound transmission is poor.
Move the subwoofer so that the
power indicator turns green or
amber.
Flashes in red:
- Press power to turn off the
subwoofer, and check that
nothing is blocking the
ventilation slit of the subwoofer.
A protection function may act by
excessive input. Please lower TV
volume or the SW level.
Noise is heard from the
subwoofer or sound from the
subwoofer is intermittent.
Move the subwoofer closer to the
TV.
Do not install the TV and subwoofer
in a closed rack, on a metal rack, or
under a table.
Move the subwoofer away from
other wireless devices.
Avoid using any other wireless
devices.
The sound output from the
subwoofer is very low.
Check the subwoofer level in the
sound setting of the TV.
With some types of content such as
news there will not be a lot of bass
sound, this is normal.
