Setting Up An External Strobe
This housing is designed with Ikelite TTL Conversion Circuitry. The
Conversion Circuitry provides real Canon eTTL ash exposure when
used with compatible Ikelite DS series Strobes.
Once a DS-series strobe is attached to the camera housing, the
conversion circuitry is automatically powered after the strobe is turned
on. Once attached, turn the strobe on rst before turning on the
camera.
The housing and strobe communicate directly with the camera to
trigger the strobe and adjust its power for perfect exposure.
TTL Flash is NOT available when camera is in “M” Manual mode.
There is no TTL ash even with Canon’s own ash in the camera “M”
mode.
Manual power settings can be selected in the “Flash Control” section
of the camera menu. The strobe should still be left in TTL mode to
take advantage of this feature.
Strobe Compatibility
All Ikelite DS strobes are capable of providing TTL operation with this
system except:
• DS125 strobes below serial number 5000
• DS51 strobes below serial number 70000
