OPERATE YOUR SAW SAFELY
Do not operate with one hand. Sed-
ous injurytothe oparator,helpem, or
bystandem may resultfrom one-
handed operation. A chainsaw is in-
tended fortwo-handed use.
Do not operate saw from a ladder or
in a tree.
Make surethe chain will not make
contact withany object whilestarting
the saw. Never start the saw when the
guide bar isina cut.
Don'ttome chain saw. It willdo the job
better and safer at the rate forwhich it
was intended.
Do not putpressure on the saw, es-
pecially at the end of the cuL Doing

Stop the saw before setting itdown.
Hand carry sew only when motoris

the chain issuddenly stoppeclby being

stopping of the chain resultsin a rever-
sal of the chain force usedto cutwood
and causes the saw to move inthe op-

The Lockout Buttonis a controlfeature
designedto prevent the motorfrom be-
ing accidentlystarl.ed. When the mar
handle isgripped m a normalcutting

index finger to squeeze the rigger. Itis
not necessary to maintain pressureon

BUCKING USING A LOG OR
SUPPORT STAND
Remember yourfirst cut is always on
the compressionside of the log.

when cuttingsmallsize limbs.

sure. Avoid being struck by the
branch orthe saw when the tension in
the wood fibers is released.
PRUNING
