Connecting Router
1. Hardware Installation
Before setting up the router, please follow these steps for proper connection.
1Use the network cable to connect the router LAN port and your computer
network card.

Please use the standard power adapter to the router.
3
Connect your broadband line (Telecom ADSL, Netcom ADSL, Great Wall
Broadband, Tianwei video, etc.) and the router WAN port.
Note: Use the included power adapter. Using different router power adapter
may cause damage.
2. Connect to the router
In order to quickly and correctly complete the router settings, please refer to
the following steps to set.
2.1 Correctly set up your computer network configuration
1、When you are using the desktop, right-click "My Network Places", in the
pop-up menu select "Properties"

2、In the following window opens, right click on the "local connection", select
"Properties"
3In the pop-up dialog box, select the "Internet Protocol (TCP / IP)", then
mouse click "Properties" button in the pop-up dialog box, select the "Internet
Protocol (TCP / IP)", then mouse click "Properties" button.

4、In the following window opened, you can choose "automatic IP address (0)"
or "Use the following IP address (S);

DNS ServersYou can fill out your local DNS server address (ask your ISP
provider) and also make the router as a DNS proxy server. After setup is
completed click "OK" to submit, then in Local Area Connection "Properties",
click "OK" to save settings.
2.2 Verify the network connection properly
1、Select "Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt"
2Right format at the input "ping 192.168.0.1" and press Enter, if shown to get
a response, your computer and the router properly.
In the IE browser,type "192.168.1.1" into the login screen.
Enter you username and password,the default username is "admin",and the default
password is "admin".

After your successful login, you can see the interface as follows:
You can configure and manage the router. There are seven main menus on the left of
the Site contents. Submenus will be available after you click one of the main menus.
The seven main menus are: Setup Wizard, Operation Mode, Wireless, TCP/IP Settings,
Firewall, Management, Reboot. To apply any settings you have altered on the page,
please click the Apply Change button.
3. Setup Wizard
The setup wizard will guide you to configure access point for first time. Please follow
the setup wizard step by step.

1.1 Operation Mode
You can setup different modes to LAN and WLAN interface for NAT and bridging
function.

Click the "cancel" button to cancel the setting.
Click the "Back" button to return to top-level directory.
Click the "Next" button to get into the next-level directory.
1.2 Time Zone Setting
You can maintain the system time by synchronizing with a public time server over the
Internet.

1.3 LAN Interface Setup
You can configure the parameters for local area network which connects to the LAN
port of your Access Point. Here you may change the setting for IP address, subnet
mask, DHCP, etc.
IP Address - Enter the IP address of your router in dotted-decimal notation (factory
default: 192.168.1.1).
Subnet Mask - An address code that determines the size of the network. Normally use

255.255.255.0 as the subnet mask.
Click the "cancel" button to cancel the setting.
Click the "Back" button to return to top-level directory.
Click the "Next" button to get into the next-level directory.
Note: If you change the IP Address of LAN, you must use the new IP Address to login
the router.
1.4 WAN Interface Setup
a. If you choose the DHCP Client, you must have another DHCP server within your
network or else you must manually configure the computer.
b. If you choose Static IP, you should have fixed IP Parameters specified by your ISP.
You should type the following parameters into the spaces provided:
IP Address - Enter the IP address in dotted-decimal notation provided by your
ISP.
Subnet Mask - Enter the subnet Mask in dotted-decimal notation provided by your
ISP, usually is 255.255.255.0.
Default Gateway - (Optional) Enter the gateway IP address in dotted-decimal
notation provided by your ISP.
MTU Size - The normal MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) value for most
Ethernet
Network is 1500 Bytes. For some ISPs you may need to modify the MTU. But this
is rarely required, and should not be done unless you are sure it is necessary for your
ISP connection.
DNS 1 - (Optional) Enter the DNS address in dotted-decimal nota tion provided by
your ISP.
DNS 2 - (Optional) Type another DNS address in dotted-decimal notation
provided

by your ISP if provided.
DNS 3 - (Optional) Type the third DNS address in dotted-decimal notation
provided
by your ISP if provided.
c. If you choose PPPoE, you should enter the following parameters.
User Name/Password - Enter the User Name and Password provided by your ISP.
These fields are case-sensitive.
Connection Type:
Connect on Demand - You can configure the router to disconnect your Internet
connection after a specified period of inactivity (Max Idle Time). If your Internet
connection has been terminated due to inactivity, Connect on Demand enables the
router to automatically re-establish your connection as soon as you attempt to access
the Internet again. If you wish to activate Connect on Demand, click the radio button.
If you want your Internet connection to remain active at all times, enter 0 in the Max Idle
Time field. Otherwise, enter the number of minutes you want to have elapsed before
your Internet connection terminates.
Manually - You can configure the router to make it connect or disconnect manually.
After a specified period of inactivity (Max Idle Time), the router will disconnect from the
Internet connection, and you will not be able to re-establish your connection
automatically as soon as you attempt to access the Internet again. To use this option,
click the radio button. If you want your Internet connection to remain active at all times,
enter "0" in the Max Idle Time field. Otherwise, enter the number time in minutes that
you wish to have the Internet connecting last unless a new link is requested.
Click the "cancel" button to cancel the setting.
Click the "Back" button to return to top-level directory.
Click the "Next" button to get into the next-level directory.
1.5 Wireless Basic Settings
You can configure the parameters for wireless LAN clients which may connect to your
Access Point.

1.6 Wireless Security Setup
You can setup the wireless security. Turn on WEP, WPA, WPA 2 or WPA 2 Mixed by
using Encryption Keys could prevent any unauthorized access to your wireless
network.
While you choose one of the encryption mode, you should set the encryption key.
Click the "cancel" button to cancel the setting.

4. Operation Mode
As the following screenshots, you can setup different modes to LAN and WLAN
interface for NAT and bridging function.
Gateway: In this mode, the device is supposed to connect to internet via ADSL/Cable
Modem. The NAT is enabled and PCs in LAN ports share the same IP to ISP through
WAN port. The connection type can be setup in WAN page by using PPPOE, DHCP
client, PPTP client, L2TP client or static IP.
Bridge: In this mode, all ethernet ports and wireless interface are bridged together and
NAT function is disabled. All the WAN related function and firewall are not supported.
Wireless: In this mode, all ethernet ports are bridged together and the wireless client
will connect to ISP access point. The NAT is enabled and PCs in ethernet ports share
the same IP to ISP through wireless LAN. You must set the wirel ess to client mode first
and connect to the ISP AP in Site-Survey page. The connection type can be setup in
WAN page by using PPPOE,DHCP client, PPTP client,L2TP client or static IP.

5. Wireless
There are seven submenus under the Wireless menu : Basic Settings, Advanced
Settings, Security, Access Control, WDS settings, Site Survey and WPS. Click any of
them, and you will be able to configure the corresponding function. The detailed
explanations for each submenu are provided below.
3.1 Wireless Basic Settings
You can configure the parameters for wireless LAN clients which may connect to your
Access Point. Here you may change wireless encryption settings as well as wireless
network parameters.

Mode you can choose four types of mode: Client, AP, WDS, AP+WDS.
Network Type while you choose client mode, you can configure the network type.
SSID Enter a value of up to 32 characters. The same name (SSID) must be
assigned to all wireless devices in your network. The default SSID is RTK 11n AP, but
it is recommended strongly that you change your networks name (SSID) to a different
value. This value is case-sensitive.
Channel Width - you can select two kinds of channel width: 20MHz or 40MHz
Broadcast SSID - If you select the Enable SSID Broadcast checkbox, the Wireless
Router SSID will broadcast its name (SSID) on the air.
Click the button "Multiple AP", you can see the wireless setting for multiple APs.

While you choose AP or AP+ WDS mode, you can click "Show Active Clients" to look
over the active clients. AS follows:
This table shows the MAC address, transmission, receive packet counters and
encrypted status for each associated wireless client.
Click "Apply Change" button to enable configuration to take effect.
Click "Reset" button to reset.
3.2 Wireless Advanced Settings
These settings are only for more technically advanced users who have a sufficient
knowledge about wireless LAN. These settings should not be changed unless you
know what effect the changes will have on your Access Point.
You can select the Authentication Type, set the Fragment Threshold, RTS Threshold
and Beacon Interval.

3.3 Wireless Security Setup
You can setup the wireless security. Turn on WEP or WPA by using Encryption Keys
could prevent any unauthorized access to your wireless network.
