What you will need to install your new Plasma TV:
Drill
1/8” Drill Bit
Level
Measuring Tape
Phillips Screw Driver
Ratchet
7/16” Socket
Stud Finder
Pencil or Pen
Step # 1
Determine Wall Mounting Height and Location
Choose the height and location where you will mount your new Plasma TV. Measure the
screen’s overall length and height in the mounted position. Calculate the centerline for both
measurements; this will give you the location of the screen’s center point. Determine the final
mounting position of the center point, vertically (height) and horizontally (length). Mark this
point on the wall using your pencil or pen.
Step # 2
Locate Wall Studs
The Plasma TV is designed to mount on a wall with a minimum of 2” X 4” studs. Wall studs
should run vertically (up and down) inside the wall. Use a stud finder to identify your wall
stud locations. Mark the location of the two studs closest to the center point at approximately
the same height as the center point, using your pencil or pen.
Repeat the previous process to mark the same stud locations approximately 6” above and 6”
below your first stud location mark
Use the level to connect these three points with a “best fit” line using your pencil or pen. This
should provide the approximate centerline of the wall stud. Note: If your three stud marks
do not line up vertically using the level, something is wrong. Repeat Step # 2 and
make sure wall studs are continuous in the vertical (up and down) direction. Do not
mount the screen on a wall if the studs are not continuous.

How to locate wall studs without a stud finder:
Find an electrical box (light switch or power outlet) on the same wall you intend to
mount the Plasma TV. Electrical boxes are always mounted to studs. Turn the
power off at the electrical panel and then remove the electrical box cover.
CAUTION! Make sure the power is off by trying to turn on lights or using outlet
before you attempt to remove the cover. Now you should be able to locate the stud
by shining a flashlight through holes in the electrical box.
Using your knuckles, lightly rap the wall looking for a solid (rather than hollow)
sound over the studs.
If all else fails, use a 6d (6-penny) finish nail and probe carefully just above the
baseboard until the nail finds a stud.
Use your level to transfer the stud location up to height of the centerline and
continue on with Step # 2.
Tips:
1. Most studs are 1-1/2 inches wide with their centers 16 inches apart.
2. Don't use studs framing doors or windows as a reference.
Step # 3
Determine Mounting Hole Locations
Use the level to make a vertical (up and down) line that extends from the center point to 3 ¼”
above the center point. Mark this ending point on the wall using your pencil or pen. Now use
the level to make a vertical line that extends from the center point to 3 ¼” below the center
point. Mark this ending point on the wall with your writing location.
Draw a horizontal (side to side) line through the upper center point that connects it with both
stud centerlines. These intersection points are the locations where the upper mounting holes
will be drilled.
Draw a horizontal (side to side) line through the lower center point that connects it with both
stud centerlines. These intersection points are the locations where the lower mounting holes
will be drilled.
Step # 4
Drill Pilot Holes
Drill pilot holes 2 1/2" deep using a 1/8” diameter drill bit at the four intersection points (upper
and lower mounting holes) that were identified in Step # 3.

Step # 5
Anchor Base Plate To Wall
Align the center of the base plate with
the center point as close as possible
Position the base plate so that the
mounting slots align with the pilot
holes that were drilled in Step # 4
Anchor the base plate into the wall
using the ratchet and the four 1/4" X
2” lag bolts provided
Note: All four mounting bolts must
be used and fastened securely into
wall studs for proper installation!
Step # 6
Mount Brackets on Plasma TV
Note: The orientation of the
mounting brackets is critical!
There is a “Left Hand” and a “Right
Hand” bracket, make sure that the
hook portion of the bracket is on the
top side and that hand knob is on the
outer edge of the bracket when
mounted on the rear of the Plasma
TV.
Attach the mounting brackets to the
Plasma TV using the hardware
provided
Center the brackets on the Plasma TV
vertically (up and down)

Step # 7
Lower Plasma TV onto Base Plate
Pick up the screen and tilt the top
slightly towards the wall
Slowly lower the screen until the
hooks make contact with the base
plate and then carefully let the Plasma
TV move into the vertical position.
Note: Make sure the screen has
hooked on to the base plate
before you release the Plasma TV!
Step # 8
Tighten Thumbscrews
You will need to tighten the
thumbscrews on the bottom of the
mounting brackets to secure the
Plasma TV on the base plate
Before tightening the thumbscrews
make sure the Plasma TV is in the
desired position as it can be slid left or
right a few inches.
Turn the thumbscrews clockwise until
they contact the base plate
Note: The Plasma TV should not be
able to slide from side to side, or be
pulled away from the wall at the
bottom if the thumbscrews are
secured properly!

Step # 9
Adjust Screen Angle (If Necessary)
You can adjust the screen angle using
the knobs located on the outside edge
of each mounting bracket
The knobs on both sides will have to
be made loose in order to make
adjustments
Turn each knob counter-clockwise
one full turn
Adjust the Plasma TV to the proper
angle
Hold the Plasma TV in place, while
you tighten the closest knob by turning
it clockwise
Tighten the knob on the other side
Step # 10
Position Cords
Position power cord and other cables
Wrap any excess cord length around
the base plate (If necessary)
