What you will need to install your new Plasma TV:
• Drill
• 1/8” Drill Bit
• Level
• Measuring Tape
• Phillips Screw Driver
• Ratchet
• 7/16” Socket
• Stud Finder
• Pencil or Pen
Step # 1
Determine Wall Mounting Height and Location
Choose the height and location where you will mount your new Plasma TV. Measure the
screen’s overall length and height in the mounted position. Calculate the centerline for both
measurements; this will give you the location of the screen’s center point. Determine the final
mounting position of the center point, vertically (height) and horizontally (length). Mark this
point on the wall using your pencil or pen.
Step # 2
Locate Wall Studs
The Plasma TV is designed to mount on a wall with a minimum of 2” X 4” studs. Wall studs
should run vertically (up and down) inside the wall. Use a stud finder to identify your wall
stud locations. Mark the location of the two studs closest to the center point at approximately
the same height as the center point, using your pencil or pen.
Repeat the previous process to mark the same stud locations approximately 6” above and 6”
below your first stud location mark
Use the level to connect these three points with a “best fit” line using your pencil or pen. This
should provide the approximate centerline of the wall stud. Note: If your three stud marks
do not line up vertically using the level, something is wrong. Repeat Step # 2 and
make sure wall studs are continuous in the vertical (up and down) direction. Do not
mount the screen on a wall if the studs are not continuous.
