5.2 Charging the Ni- Cd batteries
The trans m i t t e r a n d r eceiver batteries included with y o u
FS-TH9X s y s t em are r e c h a r g eable,Ni-Cd b a t t e r i e s .Ni-Cd
batteri e s r e q u i r e s pecial care and charging.
NOTE: T h e b a t t e ries are partially charged,but wi l l r e q u i r e
a full, ove r n i g h t c h arge before the model may be flown.
1.Connect the transmitter chargi n g cord coming from the
A/C wa l l charger to the ch a r ge jack in th e r i ght side of
the transmitter case. The receiver charging cord m ay b e
connect e d to th e batteries t w o different ways:The cha r g e
cord m a y be connected directly t o the battery pack, o r t o
the vacant c h a r g e connecto r ( l l a c k ) coming fr o m the on/off
switch in t h e m o d e l . Charging"through the switch"is p r e f e r r e d
as there wi l l b e n o n e e d d isconnect the battery.
2.Plug the A/C w a l l charger into a wall outlet. N o t e : I f the w all outlet can b e turned
off by a swit c h i n t h e r o m m, be certain the switch remains on afte r l e a v i n g t he room.
Otherwi s e , t h e b a t teries will not be charged!
3.The LEDs( l i g h t - e mitting diod e s ) s h o u ld light red, indi c a t i n g that current is flowing
and the batteries a r e being charged.Discha r g e d b a t t e r i e s w i l l t a k e a b o u t 1 5 h o u r s t o

instruc t i o n s pr o v i d e d wi t h th e charg e r so you d o no t ove r c h a r g e th e bat t e r i e s . NEVER
charge the batterie s at a r a t e h i g h e r t h a n 1 0 0 0 m A . The b a tteries should also be d i scharged
periodi c a l l y to periodically to prevent a co n d i t i o n called"memory".If, f o r example,
only two flights are mo d e each time you go flyin g , t h e batter i e s will not have"reached
"very far down into their full capacity.A f t e r d o i n g t h i s s e v e r a l t i m e s t h e b a t t e r i e s
will"re m e m b e r " a nd ev e n tually"think"they can supply only enougt power for two fi g h ts.
After tw o flights the ba t t eries may not pr ovide enough po w e r to operate th e system,
thus causing a crash.To erase any potentia l memory,cy c l e the batteries by discharging,
then c h arging them with a c ommercial battery c y c l e r ,or leave the s y s t e m on and exercise
the servos b y m o v i n g t h e t r a n smitter sticks until the even during the winter or periods
of l o n g storage.If using a cycler with a r e a d o u t , note the cajpacity a f t er the batteries
have been cyc l e d . I f t h e re is a noticeable drop in capacity the batteri e s s h o u l d b e

NOTE :charging your batteries wi t h t h e i n c l uded FLYSKY A/C battery charger i s a l w a y s
safe.Ho w e v e r , f a st-charging w i th an aftermarket charger i s acceptable as l o n g as you
know how t o pr o p e r l y operate the charger,NEVER charge a t a rate h i g her than 1000mA.If
not done co r r e c t l y ,fast-charging can damage the batt e r i e s .
