This device is intended for the reception of FM/ AM
radio transmissions as well as for the playback of
audio signals from external devices. This device is
intended for use only in domestic environments.
It is not suitable for use in commercial or industrial
applications.

Notice

adjustable frequency range from 87,5 - 108 MHz
resp. 522 – 1620 kHz. In some countries, different

not be exploited, passed on to third parties or other-
wise misused.
Safety information
• This device is not intended for use by individuals
(including children) with restricted physical, physio-
logical or intellectual abilities or deficiences in
experience and/or knowledge unless they are
supervised by a person responsible for their safety
or receive from this person instruction in how the
device is to be used.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the device.
• Keep batteries well away from children. Children
can put batteries into their mouths and swallow
them. If a battery is swallowed medical assistance
must be sought immediately.
To avoid potentially fatal electric shocks:
• Connect the device only to correctly installed and
earthed mains sockets. Ensure that the rating of
the local power supply tallies completely with the
details given on the rating plate of the device.
• Ensure that the power cable never becomes wet
or damp during operation. Lay the cable so that
it cannot be trapped or otherwise damaged.

• Always grasp the power cable by the plug. Do
not pull on the cable itself and never touch the
power cable with wet hands, this could result in
a short circuit or you receiving an electrical
shock.
• Arrange for defective power plugs and/or cables
to be replaced at once by qualified technicians
or our Customer Service Department.
• Arrange for Customer Services to repair or re-
place connecting cables and/or devices that are
not functioning properly or have been damaged.
• Only use the device in dry environments.
NEVER submerse the device in water.
Wipe it only with a slightly damp cloth.
• Ensure that liquids or foreign objects are never
able to penetrate into the device.
• Do not place water-filled receptacles (e.g. flower
vases) on the device.
• Position the device close to an electrical power
socket. Ensure that the wall socket is easily ac-
cessible at all times.
• To avoid the risks of tripping, do not use an
extension cable. In the event of danger, the plug
must be quickly and easily accessible.
• Do not open the housing or attempt to repair the
device yourself. Should you do so, device safety
can no longer be assured and the warranty will
become void. Repairs are to be carried out ex-
clusively by a specialist firm or the service centre.
Notice regarding separation from
mains-power
The STANDBY/ON switch for this device does NOT
completely separate it from the mains power
source. Additionally, the device consumes power
when in standby-mode. To completely separate
the device from mains power, the plug MUST be
removed from the power socket.
Information regarding the handling
of batteries
For retention of the time settings, the device requires
batteries. For the handling of batteries please observe
the following:
Risk of explosion!
Do not throw batteries into a fire. Do not re-
charge the batteries.
• Never open batteries, never solder or weld
batteries. The risk of explosions and injuries
exists!
• Regularly check the condition of the batteries.
Leaking batteries can cause damage to the
device.
• If you do not intend to use the device for an
extended period, remove the batteries.
• In the event of the batteries leaking acids, wear
protective gloves when removing the batteries.
• Clean the battery compartment and the battery
contacts with a dry cloth.
To avoid the risks of fire or injury:
• Do not place candles or other open fire sources
on the device.
• Do not use the device in the vicinity of hot surfaces.
• Do not place the device in locations exposed to
direct sunlight. If you do, it may overheat and be-
come irreparably damaged.
• To prevent heat build up, place the device at a
location with adequate ventilation .
• Never cover the ventilation openings!
• Avoid any additional heat build up, e.g. direct
sunlight, heaters, other devices, etc.
• Keep children away from the connecting cable and
the device. Children frequently underestimate the
dangers of electrical devices.
• Provide for a safe location for the device.

• Do not operate the device if it has sustained a
fall or is damaged. Arrange for the appliance
to be checked and/or repaired by qualified tech-
nicians.
• Keep batteries away from children. Children can
put batteries into their mouths and swallow them.
If a battery is swallowed immediately seek medical
assistance.
Thunderstorm warning!
Before a storm and/or a thunderstorm with a risk
of lightning, please separate the device from the
electrical power source!
Notice regarding electrical power
surges (EFT / electrical fast transient)
and electrostatic discharges:
In a case of malfunction due to an electrical
fast transient (power surge) and/or electrosta-
tic discharge, the device must be returned to
default settings in order to re-establish normal
operation. Possibly the power supply must be
separated and then reconnected.
Note:
This device is equipped with non-slip rubber pads.
As furniture surfaces may be made of a variety
of materials and are treated with many different
types of cleaning agents, it cannot be completely
ruled out that some substances contain ingre-
dients which may corrode the rubber rests and
soften them. If possible place an anti-slip materi-
al under the pads of the device.

Commissioning
Unpacking the device
• Remove all packaging material.
Attention!
Do not permit small children to play with plastic
packaging. There is a risk of suffocation!
Check the items supplied
Whilst unpacking, check that all of the following
items are available to you:
- Compact radio
Placement
• Place the radio on a level and horizontal surface.
Inserting the back-up batteries
With back-up batteries fitted, the adjusted timings
will not be lost in the event of a power failure.
For this, you require two 1.5V batteries of the type
Micro AAA/R03 (not supplied).
1. Open the flap of the battery compartment on the
rear of the radio.
2. Insert the batteries. Make sure the polarities are
correct.
3. Replace the flap of the battery compartment.
The flap must audibly engage.
Note:
When the device is separated from mains power
the time is not displayed, however, the internal
clock continues to run.
Antenna
The swivelling telescope aerial on the device is
effective in the FM transmission range.
• Completely withdraw and extend the aerial
and then adjust it into the position for the best
possible reception.
The telescope aerial does not function in the MW
transmission range. In these ranges, reception is
made by the built-in ferrite aerial.
• Position the device for the best possible recep-
tion.
Additional audio device
You can connect additional audio devices to the
radio, for example, an MP3 player, for playback
through the radio.
• Connect the stereo jackplug of the audio device
with the socket AUX on the rear of the device.
Power supply
• When all of the required connections have been
made, insert the plug on the power cable into
a wall power socket. The device is now in stand-
by and the time is shown in the display.
If the time has not yet been programmed in, it
begins with 0:00. In this case, programme in
the time as described in the next section.
Setting the time
1. In standby, press and hold the button TIME SET.
2. Enter in the hour by repeatedly pressing on the
button
HOUR.
3. Enter in the minutes by repeatedly pressing on
the button
MIN.
4. Release the button
TIME SET. The time display is
now programmed.
Note:
So that the time is saved in the event of a power failure
or withdrawal of the plug, the back-up batteries
must be inserted.

Utilisation
Device on/off switch
• Switch the device on by pressing the button
STANDBY/ON on the front side of the device.
The green operational LED
POWER glows.
• To switch the device back into the standby mode,
press the button
STANDBY/ON once again. The
green operational LED
POWER extinguishes.
• To switch the device off completely, remove the
plug from the power socket.
Radio/AUX operation
• First of all, switch the device on as described
above.
• Turn the regulator
VOLUME/BUZZ to the right, until
you feel that a slight resistance has been overcome.
The Radio/AUX operation is now switched on.
• For radio operation, use the switch
AUX/AM/FM
to select either the wave band AM or FM.
In radio operation:
To select the radio station frequency
To select the radio station frequency, turn the tuning
regulator to either the left or the right. The station
frequency will be shown in the display.
• For playback of an external audio device, use
the switch
AUX/AM/FM to select the setting AUX.
Adjusting the volume.
• Turn the regulator VOLUME/BUZZ further to the right
to increase the sound level.
• Turn the regulator
VOLUME/BUZZ to the left to
decrease the sound level.
Setting the alarm time
1. Press and hold the button AL. SET. A bell symbol
appears on the display .
2. Enter in the hour by repeatedly pressing on the
button
HOUR.
3. Enter in the minutes by repeatedly pressing on
the button
MIN.
4. Release the button
AL. SET. The bell symbol
extinguishes. The alarm time is now programmed.
Alarm with the buzzer (BUZZ)
• To programme an alarm call with the buzzer,
turn the regulator
VOLUME/BUZZ all the way to the
left, until you feel that a slight resistance has
been overcome.
Alarm with AUX-/Radio operation
• Turn the regulator VOLUME/BUZZ all the way to the
right, until you feel that a slight resistance has been
overcome, and then set the sound level at which
you wish to be woken.
• Using the switch
AUX/AM/FM select the manner in
which you wish to be woken. If you wish to be
woken by the radio, tune in to a radio station
as described under “Radio/AUX operation”.
Aktivating the alarm
• To activate the alarm, press the button AL.ON/OFF.
In the display the symbol appears.
Note:
So that the alarm can switch itself on, the radio must
be in the standby mode.
Deactivating the alarm/Ending the alarm
• When the alarm has switched itself on, you can
switch the alarm off by pressing the button
AL.ON/OFF. The alarm switches itself off, however,
it remains activated.
• To deactivate the alarm, press the button
AL.ON/
OFF until the symbol in the display ex-
tinguishes.

Cleaning
• Clean the housing exclusively with a soft damp
cloth and a mild detergent. Ensure that moisture
cannot permeate into the device during cleaning!
Warning!
Moisture penetrating the device creates the
risk of electric shock! Additionally, the device
could become irreparably damaged!
Disposal
Do not, under any circumstances, dispose
of the device with household waste. This
product is subject to the provisions of
European Directive 2002/96/EC.
Dispose of the device through an approved disposal
centre or at your community waste facility.
Observe the currently applicable regulations. In
case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal
centre.
Disposal of batteries/accumulators
Used batteries/rechargeable batteries may not be
disposed of in household waste. Every consumer
is statutorily obliged to dispose of batteries at a
collection site of his community/city district or at a
retail store.
The purpose of this obligation is to ensure that batte-
ries are disposed of in a non-polluting manner. Only
dispose of batteries when they are fully discharged.
Dispose of the packaging materials in an
environmentally responsible manner.
Warranty and Service
You receive a 3-year warranty for this device as of
the purchase date. Should you, in spite of our high
quality standards, have grounds for complaint please
contact our Service Hotline.
In the event that processing of your complaint is not
possible by telephone, here you will receive
• a processing number (RMA-Number) as well as
• an address, to which you can send your
product for warranty processing.
In the case of a mail-in shipment please enclose a
copy of the purchase receipt (sales slip). The device
must be securely packed and the RMA number clearly
visible. Goods sent in without the RMA number cannot
be processed.
Notice
The warranty provisions cover only material
or factory defects.
The warranty is not valid;
• for parts subject to wear
• for damage to breakable parts such as
switches or consumables such as or re-
chargeable batteries.
This product is for private use only and is not inten-
ded for commercial use. The warranty is void in the
case of abusive and improper handling, use of force
and internal modifications not carried out by our
authorized Service Centre.
Your statutory warranty claims are not restricted by
this warranty.

vaihdettavaksi vaarojen välttämiseksi.
• Jos johto tai laite eivät toimi moitteettomasti tai ovat
vahingoittuneita, toimita ne välittömästi valtuutettuun
huoltoliikkeeseen korjattaviksi tai vaihdettaviksi.
• Käytä laitetta vain kuivissa tiloissa.
Älä koskaan upota laitetta veteen. Pyyhi laite
ainoastaan kevyesti kosteutetulla liinalla.
• Huolehdi siitä, että laitteeseen ei koskaan pääse

Ohjeita verkosta irrottamiseen
Laitteen valmiustilakytkin ei erota laitetta kokonaan
sähköverkosta. Lisäksi laite ottaa virtaa valmiusti-
lassa. Erota laite verkosta kokonaan vetämällä
verkkopistoke verkkopistorasiasta.
Ohjeita paristojen käsittelyyn
Laite tarvitsee kellonajan tallentamista varten paristot.
Huomaa paristojen käsittelystä seuraavaa:
Räjähdysvaara!
Älä heitä paristoja tuleen. Älä lataa paristoja
uudelleen.
• Älä koskaan avaa paristoja, älä koskaan juota
tai hitsaa paristoja. On olemassa räjähdyksen
ja loukkaantumisen vaara!
• Tarkasta paristot säännöllisesti. Vuotavat paris-
tot saattavat vahingoittaa laitetta.
• Jos et käytä laitetta pidemmän aikaa, poista
paristot.
• Käytä suojakäsineitä paristojen vuotaessa.
• Puhdista paristokotelo ja paristoliitännät kuivalla
liinalla.
Palo- ja loukkaantumisvaarojen
välttämiseksi:
• Älä aseta kynttilöitä tai muita avotulen lähteitä
laitteen päälle.
• Älä aseta laitetta kuumien pintojen lähelle.
• Älä sijoita laitetta paikkaan, jossa se altistuu suoralle
auringonvalolle. Muutoin laite saattaa ylikuumentua
ja vaurioitua korjauskelvottomaksi.
• Aseta laite niin, ettei sen ympäristö ylikuumene, ts.
hyvin tuuletettuun paikkaan, jossa sen ympärillä
on vapaata tilaa.
• Älä koskaan peitä ilmanottoaukkoja!
• Älä altista laitetta ylimääräiselle lämmölle, esim.
suoralle auringonsäteilylle, lämmittimille tai muille
laitteille.
• Pidä liitäntäjohto ja laite poissa lasten ulottuvilta.
Lapset aliarvioivat usein sähkölaitteiden vaaran.
• Huolehdi siitä, että laite on turvallisessa kunnossa.

nopea sähköinen transientti) ja säh-
köstaattisten purkausten varalta:
Jos esiintyy nopeista sähköisistä transienteista
(häiriöpurskeesta) tai sähköstaattisista purkauk-
sista johtuva toimintahäiriö, tuote on nollattava
normaalikäytön palauttamiseksi. Laite on mah-
dollisesti erotettava virtalähteestä ja liitettävä
siihen uudelleen.
Huomaa:
Tämä laite on varustettu liukumattomilla kumijaloilla.
Koska huonekalujen pinta voi olla mitä erilaisim-
mista materiaaleista ja koska niitä käsitellään mitä
erilaisimmilla hoitoaineilla, on mahdollista, että

Käyttöönotto
Laitteen purkaminen pakkauksesta
• Poista kaikki pakkausmateriaalit.
Huomio!
Älä anna lasten leikkiä pakkausmateriaalilla.
On olemassa tukehtumisvaara!
Tarkista toimituksen täydellisyys
Kun purat laitetta pakkauksesta, tarkista, että
seuraavat osat ovat toimituksen mukana:
- Kompaktiradio
Pystytys
• Laita radio tasaiselle, vaakasuoralle alustalle.
Varaparistojen laittaminen
paristolokeroon
Varmistusparistojen ansiosta kellonajan asetusta ei
menetetä virtakatkossa.
Tähän tarvitaan kaksi 1,5 V paristoa, tyyppi Micro
AAA/R03 (ei sisälly toimitukseen).
1. Avaa paristolokeron kansi radion takaosasta.
2. Aseta paristot paikoilleen. Varmista tällöin oikea
napaisuus.
3. Laita paristolokeron kansi takaisin paikalleen.
Kannen täytyy lukittua kuuluvasti paikalleen.
Huomaa:
Kun laite on virtaverkosta erotettuna, kellonaika
ei näy näytössä, mutta sisäinen kello käy kuitenkin
eteenpäin.
Antenni
Laitteen käännettävä teleskooppiantenni vaikuttaa
FM-kaistalla.
• Vedä antenni kokonaan ulos ja suuntaa se niin,
että vastaanotto on paras mahdollinen.
Keskipitkällä KA-kaistalla teleskooppiantennilla ei
ole vaikutusta. Tällä aaltoalueella laitteen vastaanotto
toimii sisäänrakennetun ferriittiantennin avulla.
• Suuntaa laite niin, että vastaanotto on paras
mahdollinen.
Lisäaudiolaitteet
Voit liittää radioon lisäaudiolaitteita, kuten esim.
MP3-soittimen, voidaksesi toistaa äänen radion
kautta.
• Liitä audiolaitteen stereojakkipistoke laitteen
taustapuolella olevaan pistorasiaan AUX.
Verkkoliitäntä
• Kun olet suorittanut kaikki liitännät, liitä verkko-
kaapelin verkkopistoke verkkopistorasiaan. Laite
on nyt valmiustilassa ja näytössä näkyy kellonaika.
Jos et ole vielä asettanut kellonaikaa, aika alkaa
0:00:sta. Aseta tässä tapauksessa kellonaika
kuten seuraavassa kohdassa selostetaan.
Kellonajan asettaminen
1. Pidä valmiustilassa painiketta TIME SET painettuna.
2. Aseta tunnit painamalla useamman kerran paini-
ketta
HOUR.
3. Aseta minuutit painamalla useamman kerran
painiketta
MIN.
4. Päästä painike
TIME SET jälleen irti. Kellonaika on
nyt asetettu.
Huomaa:
Jotta kellonaika pysyy virtakatkon jälkeen tai kun
verkkopistoke on vedetty irti, varmistusparistojen
täytyy olla laitettuina laitteen sisään.

Käyttö
Laitteen kytkeminen päälle/sammuttaminen
• Kytke laite päälle painamalla laitteen etupuolella
olevaa painiketta
STANDBY/ON.
Vihreä toiminta-LED
POWER syttyy.
• Laitteen kytkemiseksi jälleen valmiustilaan paina
uudelleen painiketta
STANDBY/ON. Vihreä toiminta-LED
POWER sammuu.
• Laitteen kytkemiseksi kokonaan pois päältä vedä
verkkopistoke pois pistorasiasta.
Radio-/AUX-käyttö
• Kytke laite ensiksi päälle edellä kuvatulla tavalla.
• Kierrä säädintä
VOLUME/BUZZ oikealle niin paljon,
kunnes tunnet, että olet voittanut vastuksen.
Radio-/AUX-käyttö on nyt päällä.
• Valitse radiokäyttöä varten kytkimellä
AUX/AM/
FM kaista-alue AM tai FM.
Radiokäytössä:
Kanavataajuuden asettaminen
Kanavataajuuden asettamiseksi kierrä TUNING-viri-
tyssäädintä oikealle ja vasemmalle. Vastaava taajuus
näkyy näytössä.
• Valitse ulkopuolisen audiolaitteen toistoa varten
kytkimellä
AUX/AM/FM asetus AUX.
Äänenvoimakkuuden säätäminen
• Kierrä säädintä VOLUME/BUZZ lisää oikealle
äänenvoimakkuuden suurentamiseksi.
• Kierrä säädintä
VOLUME/BUZZ vasemmalle
äänenvoimakkuuden pienentämiseksi.
Herätyksen asettaminen
1. Pidä painiketta AL. SET painettuna. Näyttöön
ilmestyy kellosymboli .
2. Aseta tunnit painamalla useamman kerran paini-
ketta
HOUR.
3. Aseta minuutit painamalla useamman kerran
painiketta
MIN.
4. Päästä painike
AL. SET jälleen irti. Kellosymboli
sammuu. Herätysaika on nyt asetettu.
Herätys summerilla (BUZZ)
• Kierrä säädintä VOLUME/BUZZ niin paljon vasem-
malle, kunnes tunnet, että olet voittanut vastuksen
summeriherätyksen asettamiseksi.
Herätys AUX-/radiokäytöllä
• Kierrä säädintä VOLUME/BUZZ oikealle, kunnes tunnet,
että olet voittanut vastuksen, ja aseta äänenvoi-
makkuus, jolla haluat tulla herätetyksi.
• Aseta kytkimellä
AUX/AM/FM, millä käyttötavalla
haluat tulla herätetyksi. Jos haluat radion herättävän
sinut, aseta radioasema kuten kohdassa “Radio-/
AUX-käyttö” selostetaan.
Hälytyksen aktivoiminen
• Paina hälytyksen aktivoimiseksi painiketta
AL.ON/OFF. Näyttöön ilmestyy symboli .
Huomaa:
Jotta hälytys voi kytkeytyä päälle, radion täytyy olla
valmiustilassa.
Hälytyksen deaktivoiminen/Hälytyksen
lopettaminen
• Kun hälytys on kytkeytynyt päälle, voit sammuttaa
sen painamalla painiketta
AL.ON/OFF. Hälytys
sammuu, mutta jää kuitenkin vielä aktivoiduksi.
• Paina hälytyksen deaktivoimiseksi painiketta
AL.ON/
OFF, kunnes symboli sammuu näytössä.

Puhdistus
• Puhdista kotelo ainoastaan kevyesti kostutetulla
liinalla ja miedolla astianpesuaineella. Varo,
ettei puhdistuksen yhteydessä laitteeseen pääse
kosteutta!
Varoitus!
Mikäli laitteeseen joutuu kosteutta, on olemassa
sähköiskun vaara! Lisäksi laite saattaa vaurioitua
korjauskelvottomaan kuntoon!
Hävittäminen
Älä hävitä laitetta tavallisen talousjätteen
mukana. Tämä tuote on eurooppalaisen
direktiivin 2002/96/EC alainen.
Anna laite hyväksytyn jätehuoltoyrityksen tai kunnal-
lisen jätelaitoksen hävitettäväksi.
Noudata voimassa olevia määräyksiä. Epäselvissä
tilanteissa ota yhteyttä paikalliseen jätehuoltovirano-
maiseen.
Paristojen/akkujen hävittäminen
Paristoja/akkuja ei saa hävittää kotitalousjätteiden
seassa. Jokaisella käyttäjällä on lakisääteinen velvol-
lisuus luovuttaa paristot/akut kuntansa/kaupungi-
nosansa tai kaupan keräilypisteeseen.
Näin varmistetaan, että paristot/akut hävitetään
ympäristöystävällisellä tavalla. Palauta paristot/
akut ainoastaan lataus purettuna.
Hävitä kaikki pakkausmateriaalit
ympäristöystävällisesti.
Takuu ja huolto
Laitteen takuu on 3 vuotta ostopäivästä. Jos sinulla
on korkeista laatustandardeistamme huolimatta syytä
valituksiin, ota yhteyttä palvelunumeroomme.
Mikäli vikaa ei voida korjata puhelimitse, saat
• käsittelynumeron (RMA-numeron) sekä
• osoitteen, johon voit lähettää tuotteesi takuuta
varten.
Laita lähetyksen mukaan kopio ostotositteesta (kas-
sakuitti). Laite tulee pakata kuljetuksen kestävästi ja
RMA-numeron tulee olla selkeästi esillä. Ilman RMA-
numeroa lähetettyjä tuotteita emme voi käsitellä.

• kuluvia osia
• herkkien osien, kuten kytkinten tai akkujen,
vauriot.
