wheretheapplianceislocatedintheevent

ofaleakintherefrigerantcircuit.Thequan-

tityofrefrigerantusedinyourapplianceis

indicatedonthetypeplateontheinsideof

theappliance.

•Onlyusetheappliancewhenitisinstalled.

•Donotcoverventilationopenings

orgrille.

Exiting set-up mode:

• Exit the set-upmode bypressing the On/Offbutton

normaloperatingmodeisactivatedagain.

Power failure „frost-control“ display

IfnAappearsinthedisplay,thismeansthatthefreezertempera-

turehasrisentoohighduringthelastfewhoursordaysduetoa

powerfailure.

Ifyoupressthe„ALARM“buttonwhilstthedisplayisreadingnA,

thehighesttemperatureregisteredduringthepowerfailurewill

bedisplayed.Checkthequalityofthefoodanditssuitabilityfor

consumptionincaseithasbecometoowarmorevendefrosted.

Thehighesttemperaturewillappearforappox.1minute.Afterthat,

theactualtemperatureinthefreezerwillre-appear.Thedisplay

canbeswitchedoffbyrepeatedlypressingthe„ALARM“button.

Audible warning signal

Theapplianceisequippedwithanalarmfunction.

Audible/visual temperature alarm:

Itsoundswhenitisnotcoldenoughinthefreezercompartment.

Thetemperaturedisplaywillalsoflash;

Theaudiblewarningdeviceisswitchedoffbypressingthe button.

Thetemperaturedisplaywillcontinuetoflashuntilthecauseof

thealarmhasbeenrectified.

This can be caused by:

• thefreezerdoorbeingleftopenforalongtime,allowingwarm

ambientairtoenter;

• alongpowerfailure;

• afaultintheappliance.

Ineachcase,makesurefoodhasnotdefrostedorperished.

Setting the temperature

actualtemperaturewillbedisplayed.

- Youcanchangethetemperatures

 inthefreezerbetween-16°Cand-26°C.

Switching the appliance on and off

Youarerecommendedtocleantheappliancebeforeswitchingit

onforthefirsttime(see„Cleaning“).

Switching on:PresstheON/Offbuttons(onleftforrefrigerator,on

rightforfreezer)sothatthetemperaturedisplaylightsup/flashes.

Switching off: PresstheOn/Offbuttonsforapprox.twoseconds

sothatthetemperaturedisplaygoesout.

Note

Ifthefreezercompartmentisswitchedoff,theapplianceisout

ofoperation.

Temperature display

Innormaloperation,theaveragerefrigeratortemperature7and

thewarmestfrozenfoodtemperature

1willbedisplayed.

Whenstartingupforthefirsttimeorwhentheapplianceiswarm,

dasheswillappearuntilthetemperaturereachesalevelthatcan

bedisplayed(19°to0°Cintherefrigeratorandbelow0°Cinthe

freezer).

IfF1 toF5appearsinthedisplay,theappliancehasafault.Con-

sultthecustomerservicedepartmentindicatingthefaultnumber

displayed.

Button

The buttonswitchestherefrigeratorcompartmenttomaximum

cooling.Thisisrecommendedparticularlyifyouwishtocoollarge

quantitiesoffreshfoodordrinksasfastaspossible.

After approx. 6 hours, however, the refrigerator switches back

automaticallytonormaloperation.

Cooling with fan

Withthefanfunctionswitchedon,auniformtemperaturedistribu-

tionwillbeattainedintherefrigeratorcompartment.

Thisisrecommended:

- in high room temperatures

(approx.33°Corhigher),

- iftheairhumidityishigh(e.g.

duringthesummer).

The light intensity of the LED

light corresponds to laser class

1/1M.

Important

The light cover may only be removed by customer service

staff. If the cover is removed, do not look directly at the

light through optical lenses from close distance. This can

damage your eyes.

Repositioning the door racks

thefrontandre-insertatadifferent

height,followingthesestepsinthe

reverseorder.

The individual storage times and

whether or not the lower or upper

valueisapplicabledependonthefood

quality,itsprocessingpriortofreezing,

andtheindividualhousehold‘squality

requirements.

Thelowervaluesalwaysapplytofood

withahighfatcontent.

Freezer tray

Youcanusethefreezertraytogentlyfreezefruit(e.g.berriesor

slicesoffruit),herbsandvegetablesforservingorgarnishing.

Spreadthefoodoutlooselyonthetray

(thepiecesoffruitwillretaintheirshape

andwillnotsticktogether).Freezefor

10to12hoursthentransfertoafreezer

bagorcontainerandstoreinoneof

thedrawers.

Notes on freezing

• Packfoodwhichyouarefreezingyourselfinquantitiesappropriate

toyourhousehold.Toensurethatthefoodfreezesrightthrough,

thefollowingquantitiesshouldnotbeexceededperpackage:

fruit,vegetables:upto1kg,meat:upto2.5kg.

• Packfrozenfoodinstandardfreezerbagsorreuseableplastic,

metaloraluminiumcontainers.

• Donotallowfreshfoodwhichistobefrozentocomeintocontact

withfoodalreadyfrozen.Alwayskeeppacksdryinordertoavoid

themstickingtogether.

•Donotfreezebottlesandcanswhichcontaincarbonateddrinks

astheymightburst.

Making ice cubes

• Filltheice-cubetraywithwater.

andleaveittofreeze.

• Theicecubescanberemovedfromthe

traybytwistingorbyholdingupsidedown

forashorttimeunderrunningwater.

Freezing with SuperFrost

ByactivatingtheSuperFrostfunctionthetemperatureinthefreezer

compartmentwilldroptothelowestattainablevalue.Thusfood

canberapidlyfrozentothecoreandthequalityispreserved.

• PresstheSuperfrostbutton

• Wait24hours.

•Place the fresh food in the

freezer.

• The Superfrost facility auto-

maticallyswitchesthefastfreezingprocedureoffafter65hours.

You should not switch on the Superfrost function:

- whenplacingfrozenfoodinthefreezer;

- whenfreezinguptoapprox.2kgfreshfooddaily.

Freshfoodshouldbefrozentothe

coreasrapidlyaspossible.Frozen

foodcanalsobegivenacoldboost.

Thisisprovidedbythe„Superfrost“

facility.

Defrosting

Refrigerator compartment

The refrigerator compartment de-

frostsautomatically.Thecondensate

evaporatesautomaticallythroughthe

compressorheat.

Ensurethatthewatercanflowwithout

hindrancethroughtheholeabovethe

vegetablebins.

Freezer compartment

Aftertheappliancehasbeeninoperationforsometime,alayer

offrostoricewillformontheinsidewalls.Thisincreasesenergy

consumption.Thereforedefrostthefreezercompartmentregularly.

•Switch the appliance off to

defrost.Pulloutthemainsplug

orpressthefreezercompart-

ment- On/Offbutton

thatthetemperature display

goesdark.

• Removethedrawersandglassshelves.

• Wrapthefrozenfoodinpaperorblanketsandstoreinacool

place.

• Tospeedupthedefrostingprocessputasaucepanofhotwater

onthecompartmentfloor.

• Leave thedoorofthe appliance openwhile defrosting. After

defrostingmopuptheremainingwaterandcleantheappliance.

Do not use any mechanical devices or other

artificial aids for defrosting other than those

recommended by the manufactur er.

Shutting your appliance down

Ifyourapplianceistobeshutdownforanylengthoftime,switch

itoffanddisconnecttheplugorswitchofforunscrewthefuse.

Cleantheapplianceandleavethedooropeninordertoprevent

unpleasantsmells.

Theappliancecomplieswiththerelevantsafetyregulationsand

ECDirectives2004/108/ECand2006/95/EC.

Alltypesandmodelsaresubjecttocontinuousimprovementand

themanufacturerthereforereservestherighttomakemodifica-

tionstotheshape,equipmentandtechnology.

Malfunctions

You may be able to rectify the following faults by checking

the possible causes yourself:

• Appliance does not function:

–Istheapplianceswitchedon?

–Istheplugcorrectlyfittedinthemainssocket?

–Isthefuseintact?

• Loud running noise:

–Istheappliancesetupfirmlyonthefloor?

–Doestheappliancecausenearbyitemsoffurnitureorobjectsto

vibrate?Pleasenotethatnoisescausedbytherefrigerantcircuit

cannotbeavoided.

• The temperature is not low enough:

–Isthetemperaturesettingcorrect(see"Settingthetemperature")?

–Haveexcessiveamountsoffreshfoodbeenplacedintheappli-

ance?

–Does the separatelyinstalled thermometershow the correct

reading?

–Istheventilationsystemworkingproperly?

–Istheappliancesetuptooclosetoaheatsource?

• The inside of the appliance may feel warm in places

–Thatisquitenormal.Thedissipatedheatisnecessaryfornormal

operationoftheappliance.

Cleaning

Before cleaning, always switch o the appliance. Disconnect

from the mains or unscrew or switch o the fuse.

•Cleantheinside,equipmentandouterwallswithlukewarmwater

andalittledetergent.Donotuseabrasiveoracidcleanersor

chemicalsolvents.

•Ensure that no cleaning water penetrates into the electrical

componentsorventilationgrille.

• Dryallpartswellwithacloth.

• Donotdamageorremovethetypeplateontheinsideofthe

appliance.Itisveryimportantforservicingpurposes.

Do not use steam cleaners because of the risk

of injury and damage.
