Install AVMW Box
1. Use retro ring template sheet (included with Raco® retro
ring packaging) to trace hole to be cut at desired mounting
locations. (See Figure 2)
NOTE: AVMW must be installed within 10’ of the AVMA input
box so that the cables can be easily attached from the
AVMA to the AVMW. The AVMW should be installed at
lightswitch height. (See Figure 1)
NOTE: If AVxTR (assisted listening device) is to be installed,
refer to AVxTR installation instructions to install AVxTR
module into AVMW prior to installation into wall!
Figure 1
2. Use drywall cutter to cut hole at marked location on wall.
(See Figure 2)
Figure 2
3. Connect retro ring to electrical box outlet by removing two
screws from box and using those screws to connect ring to
box. (See Figure 3)
Figure 3
4. Remove knockout from electrical box and route 48" CAT5e
cable from AVMA through hole.
IMPORTANT ! : In order to comply with building codes, it
is highly recommended that a conduit and/or strain relief
clamps are used to route cables through electrical boxes.
5. Place electrical box into cut hole and secure using retro
ring. Turn screws clockwise to extend work wings and
secure box to wall. (See Figure 4)

Wireless Microphone (AVxHM)
All CoPilot microphone devices use a battery charger with 6V
wall power supply included. The power supply is UL/Energy
Star rated and plugs into a standard 120VAC outlet.
All microphone devices have a fast charging time; 50%
recharge in 30 minutes, 100% FULL recharge in 90 minutes.
During charging front LED will begin as bright green and when
fully charged will dim. This is normal. The units will operated for
5-6 hours of continuous talk time when fully charged.
Charging Stand Assembly
1. Insert the metal holder into the base allowing the
microphone to be placed into the holder and supported
vertically in the base. (See Figure 7)
2. Plug charging cable into wall and charging base. (See
Figure 7)
3. Insert microphone into metal holder on base until
microphone is fully charged (LED light = green). (See Figure
7)
NOTE: The 6V wall charger power supply terminates to the
USB mini jack on the base. When fully charged in 90
minutes, the microphone will operate for 6-8 hours of
continuous talk time.
NOTE: Charging stand has LED charging status colors of:
Blue = ON
Red = Charging
Green = Fully Charged

Wireless Device Activation
The AVMW module has two channels operating at independent
frequencies (2.4GHz/900MHz).
Channel 1 is for the Teacher Microphone (AVxLM)
Channel 2 is for the Student Microphone (AVxHM)
Figure 8
AVxLM (Teacher lanyard microphone)
1. Press the POWER button on the AVMW receiver module for
Channel 1. Power On = Blue LED flashing (See Figure 8)
Figure 9
2. Press the ON/OFF button on the transmitter for the teacher
microphone (AVxLM). ON = Blue LED flashing or Blue LED
steady.
Figure 10
NOTE: If the LED’s on both units continue flashing, then
proceed to Step 3. If the LED’s are solid (ON, but not
flashing) then the units linked themselves and are
ready to broadcast. Go to Step 5.
3. Press the "pairing" button for 2-3 seconds separately on
both the AVMW and on the right side of the AVxLM
transmitter until the LED flashed alternating red/blue
indicating units are ready to be paired. Pairing Ready =
alternating red/blue steady flash (See Figure 10)
Figure 11
NOTE: Steady flash indicates that the units are looking for an
ID match.
4. Locate the IR lens on the left side of the transmitter unit
(opposite side from the pairing button). While both units are
in the pairing-ready mode: point the transmitter IR lens at
the AVMW module from a maximum distance of 1 meter/3
feet for at least 3-4 seconds. The alternating blue/red flash
sequence will commence a fast flashing sequence for 2-3

Troubleshooting
1. Read and review all sections and follow all instructions in
this manual.
2. If any of the AVMW microphones or receivers experience
intermittent noise or drop out, please check to ensure
batteries are charged.
NOTE: The microphones are designed for a fast recharge as a
50% charge is achieved in as little as 30 minutes.
3. If any of the RF microphones or receivers do not show
connection or have continuous flashing Blue LED please
ensure units are properly 'paired'.
4. If after successful wireless install and both AVxLM Teacher
Microphones and AVxHM Student Hand held microphone
are confirmed to be performing properly (without noise, drop
out with acceptable coverage throughout the room) and
then after installing the AVxVR transmit module in the
RIGHT SLOT of AVMW with corresponding receiver/
headphones you now notice intermittent noise or drop out of
the microphones, perform the following steps to change the
ID frequency.
1. In the power off mode for AVMW module, press both
the power and pairing botton down for 3-5 seconds
until the LED starts a steady RED flash rate.
