• Ifalarmed,theTagAlertindicatorprovidesamechanismtodetermineatwhichpointduring
thetriptherstalarmwastriggered.ThisAlarmAlert™featurecanaccommodatetripsup
to10daysinduration.
• ReadtheTagAlertandrecordwhichalarmshavetriggered(Figure 2).
• Followthenextthreestepstodeterminewhichalarmwastriggeredrstandtheapproximate
timeatwhichthealarmtriggered:
1.PresstheStartbuttontodeterminewhichalarmtriggeredrst.Thenumberrepresent
ingtherstalarmthattriggeredwillashfor4seconds.TheLCDdisplaywillthenclear
for2seconds.
2. Thesumofthenumbersthatappearnextwillequalthedayintothetripthattherstalarm
was triggered (Figure 4).Thiswillbedisplayedfor2seconds.
3. Thesumofthenumbersthatappearnextwillindicatethe3-hourtimeintervalwithinthe
daytherstalarmwastriggered(Figure 5).

Starting a TagAlert® Indicator
• PushtheSTARTbuttononthefrontofthedeviceandholdfor
approximately1second.
• TheLCDdisplaywillrespondbydisplaying“OK”(Figure 1).
• Oncethe“OK”isdisplayed,theTagAlert®indicatorhasbeen
activatedandentersthestart-updelayasprogrammedintotheunit.
• Onceactivated,removethebackstickerlabelandafxtoan
instructioncardorattachdirectlytoaclean,drysurfaceofthe
productorpackage.
Reading a TagAlert Indicator
• Oncethepackagehasarrivedatitsdestination,removethe
TagAlertindicatorfromthepackage.
• IftheLCDdisplays“OK”,noalarmshavebeentriggered
duringthetrip(Figure 1).
• IftheLCDdisplaysblacksquaresoverthe“OK”andthenumbers
1,2,3and/or4,thenanalarmhasbeentriggered(Figure 2).
Forexample,ifthenumbers1and4aredisplayed,thenthe1stand
4thalarmconditionswereexceeded.
• Thereceivinglocationshouldfollowtheappropriateprotocolto
determineproductdispositionifanalarmhastriggered.
Fail Safe Protection
• TheTagAlertindicatorperformsasystemcheckduringoperation
andincorporatesaFail-Safeprotectionmodetoalerttheuser
shouldtheunitfailtofunctionproperly.
• IftheTagAlertindicatordetectsafaultytemperaturesensororthe
temperatureexceedstheoperationallimits(70ºC(158ºF)to-20ºC
(-4ºF))intransit,theunitwillenterintothismodeandwill
discontinuetemperaturemeasurement.
• TheLCDwilldisplayblacksquaresoverthe“OK”.Nonumbers
willbedisplayedontheLCD(Figure 3).
NOTE: If any numbers appear on the LCD, that alarm has
triggered. The “OK” may still be visible through the black
squares even if an alarm has triggered.
NOTE: Days are calculated in 24 hour increments. This begins when the start button is
rst pressed and the “OK” is displayed on the LCD.
