Read this manual carefully, especially precaution on microwave
energy, and follow the procedure strictly. Careless ser-
vicing and testing may expose yourself to the microwave energy leakage.
PRECAUTIONS
~ECA@~ TO BE OBSERVED BEFORE AND DURING SERVICING TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO EXCES-
SIVE MICRO1/dWE ENERGY
(a) Do not operate or allow the oven to be operated with door open.
(b) Make the’followir?g ,Stity checks on all ovens to be serviced before activating the magnetron or other micro-
wave source, and make ret?airs as necessa~:
(1) Iqterlock operation, (2) proper door closing, (3) seal and sealing surfaces (arcing, wear, and other dam-
age), (4) damage to or loosening of hinges and latches, (5) evidence of dropping or abuse.
(c) Before turning on “microwave power for any service test or inspection within the” microwave generating com-
partments, check the magnetron, wave guide or transmission line, and cavity for proper alignment,” integrity,
and connections.
(d) Any dafs!ctiye or misadjusted components in the interlock, monitor, door seal, and microwave generation and
transmission systems shall be repaired, replaced, or adjusted by procedures described in this manual before
the oven is released to the owner.

1. ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES
TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO MICROWAVE
ENERGY LEAKAGE, THE FOLLOWING ADJUST-
MENT OF THE INTERLOCK SWITCHES SHOULD BE
MADE ONLY BY AUTHORIZED SERVICE PERSON-
NEL.
A. INTERLOCK MONITOR SWITCHES AND DOOR
SENSING SWITCH ADJUSTMENT
(Figure 1)
(1) Loosen 2 screws securing the lever stopper.
(2) Adjust the lever stopper position so that it
pushed up and rotated counterclockwke until
there is about zero gap between the latch lever
.,
ad fhe switch bodies when the door latch is
securely locked.
(3) Tighten the lever stopper screws securely.
{4) Make sum- the latch interfock switch and the
door sensing switch open before the interlock
. .monitor switches closes when the door is
opened very slowly, according to “CHECKOUT
PROCEDURE FOR SWITCHES” on page 8.
(5) Make sure the microwave energy Igakage is below
the limit of the regulation (5mW/c@ when
measur’ with a detector.(All setvice”

microwave energy l~age readings.)

3. POWER OUTPUT MEASUREMENT
(1)Prepare 1000*5g tap water.
(2) Adjust water temperature
to 10 °&20C.
(3) -Pour water into a container made of borosilicate
:‘ ,glass, 190mm outer diameter cylinder, maximum
$rnm tk~knesa.
Note: Use ttie container kept on the room
temperature.

Place the container in the center of oven cavity.
Set the heating time for 26 seconds and rating
full power and then start oven.
Take the container out immediately when heating
time is up.
Stir water for making even water temperature in
the contarner.
Measure water temperature.
Water temperature rise shall be to 12°C.

PRECAUTIONS AND REPAIR SERVICE TIPS
PRELIMINARY
A. SINCE NEARLY 4,000 VOLTS EXISTS IN SOME
CfRCUIT OF THIS MICROWAVE OVEN, REPAIRS
WOULD BE CARRIED OtJT WITH GREAT CARE.
E. ~ AVOID POSSIBLE ‘EXPOSURE TO MICRO-
WAVE ENERGY LEAKAGE, THE FOLLOWING
PRECAUTIONS MUST BE TAKEN BEFORE
SERVICING.
(a) Open and close the door several times to make
sure the latch interlock switches, the interlock
monitor switches and the door sensing switch
operate properly.
Listen for the clicking sound from the switches.
Make sure the interlock monitor switches closes
after the latch interlock switches opens when the
door is opened.
(see pages 1 and 6 )

(b) Make sure the perforated screen and the choke
dielectric of the door are correctly mounted.
(2) After the power is applied.
(a) Open and close the door to see if the interlock
mechanism operates properly.
(b) Check microwave energy leakage with a leakage
detector and confirm the energy leakage is below
5mW/cmZ.
(3) Do not operate the unit until it is completely re-
paired, if any of the following conditions exists.

Door does not close firmly against the cavity front.
The hinge is broken.
The choke dielectric or the door seal is damaged.
The door is bent or warped, or there is any other
visible damage to the oven that may cause micro-
wave energy leakage.
NOTE: Always keep the seal clean.
Make sure that there are no defective parts in the
interlock mechanism.
Make sure that there are no defective parts in the
microwave generating and transmission assembly.
(especially waveguide).
(4) Following items should be checked after the unit is
repaired.
(a) The interlock monitor switch is connected correctly

and firmly.
The magnetron gasket on the magnetron is proper-
ly positioned.
Waveguide and oven cavity are intact (no leakage
of microwave energy).
The door can be properly closed and the safety
switches work properly.
The oven must be stopped when the door is
opened or the time is up.
The oven must not be operated with any of the above
components removed or bypassed.

HINT FOR LAMP-CHANGE
Before removing the cabinet, pull out the mains-plug.
If you want to check the new lamp with the open
cabinet, take care of the following safety-cautions :
Do not touch live parts. The lamp holder is not con-
nected to the eatth protection lead by’ a metric screw.

- DISCONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY CORD
FROM THE WALL OUTLET WHENEVERRE-
MOVING THE CABINET FROM THE UNIT. PRO-
CEED WITH THE TESTS ONLY AFTER DIS-
CHARGING THE HIGH VOLTAGE CAPACITOR
AND REMOVING THE LEAD WIRES ON THE
PRIMARY WINDING OF HIGH VOLTAGE TRANS-

NOTE
Proceed with the check of tie step-down
transformer, to see if any one of the measur-
ed values is different from the specified
values.
RESULT
Normal reading:
Momentarily indicates several ohms, and
gradually returns to 10 meg-ohms.
Abnormal reading:
Indicates continuity or 10 meg-ohms
from the beginning.
Normal reading:
Indicates about the middle position in
one direction (forward direction) and
infinite ohms in the reverse direction,
using meter which is provided with a
9-volt battery.
NOTE
Some digital meter may show over
even in a forward direction because low
measuring voltage of meter does not
allow the meter current to Pass through
the high voltage diode.
Abnormal reading:
Indicates continuity or infinite ohms in
both directions.
Normal reading:
Indicates infinite ohms in both directions.
Abnormal reading:
Indicates continuity in both directions or
continuity in one direction and infinite
ohms in reversed direction.

B. TROUBLE SHOOTING
HINT for repair - Magnetron and high voltage circuit;
Find which is defective magnetron, front or back before following chari below.
(1) Remove the lead wire on the primaty winding of high voltage transformer
for front magnetron.
(2) Put the water load in the cavity and start about one minute.
(3) Check the water temperature.
(4) When water is warm, the circuit of back magnetron is normal.
When water is still cool, the circuit of front magnetron is defective.

7. DISASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
-OVEN
MUST BE DISCONNECTED FROM
ELECfRICAL OUTLET WHEN MAKING
REPLACEMENT, REPAIRS, ADJUSTMENT AND
CONTINUITY CHECKS BEFORE PROCEEDING
WITH ANY REPAIR WbRKS AFTER DIS -
CONNECTING. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTES,
UNTIL THE CAPACITOR IN THE HIGH VOLTAGE
AREA HAS FULLY DISCHARGED.
- WHEN REPLACING ANY DOOR MICROSWITCH,
REPLACE WITH THE-SAME TYPE SWITCH
SPECIFIED ON THE PARTS LIST.
A. REMOVING INTERLOCK MONITOR SWITCHES

(1) Disconnect all lead wires from the interlock
monitor switches.
(2) Remove 1 screw securing the interlock monitor
switches.
(3) Make necessaIy adjustment. and make
microwave energy leakage check according to

(1) Disconnect all lead wires from the interlock
monitor switches and door sensing switch.
(2) Remove 2 screws the lever stopper.
(3) Remove 2 screws and nuts from the door
sensing switch.
(4) Make necessary adjustment, and make
microwave energy leakage check according to
“1. ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES”on page 1,
after it is replaced with new one, and check
proper operation of it according to “CHECK-
OUT PROCEDURE FOR SWITCHES” on
page 6.
C. REMOWNG LATCH INTERLOCK SWITCH
(See Figure 2 on page 1)
(1) Disconnect all lead wires from the latch
“1. ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES”on page 1,

after it is replaced with new one, and check

proper operation of it according to “CHECK-

D. REMOVING FUSE
Remove the 10A fuse with a screw driver.
NOTES
When replacing the 10 A fuse, be sure an exact
repair part.
If the 10A fuse blows immediately, check the latch
interlock switch, the relay 7(on the control circuit
board) and the intertock monitor switch
according to “CHECKOUT PROCEDURE FOR
SWITCHES” on page 6. and make sure to check
the microwave energy leakage according to “1.
ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES” on page 1,
when the latch interlock switch, the relay 7 or the
intetlock monitor switch is adjusted or replaced.
If the latch interiock switch, the relay 7 and
the interlock monitor switch is defective, replace
not only the latch interlock switch but also the
interlock monitor switch. Then install a new 10 A
fuse.
If the latch interlock switch, the relay 7 and the
interlock monitor switch operate properly, determine
which of the followings is defective control circuit
board, blower motor, high voltage transformer, or
magnetmn.
If the high vottage diode is defective, replace not
only the high voltage diode but also fuse diode.
E. REMOVING FUSE HOLDER
Fuse holder is fitted without screw in the parts base.
(1) Push fuse folder with screw driver as shown figure 13.
(2) Push

When ref~ing, first must insert in the opposite side of
the hook, and then insert hook side into the part base,
or fuse holder is free from the part base.

F. REMOVING CONTROL CIRCUIT BOARD
(1) Remove the all connectors and lead wires from
the control circuit board.
(2) Remove 3 screws to detach the control panel
complete from the oven cavity.
(3) Remove the FPC connector from the connector
S101 while pushing up the end of the plastic
fastener.
(4) Remove 6 screws securing the control circuit
board.
(5) Lift up the control circuit board from its left
side and take out from the control base.
G. REMOVING TOUCH KEY BOARD

(1) Remove the FPC connector from the connector
S101 while pushing up the end of the plastic
fastener.
(2) Remove the control plate which is held on the
control base with the adhesive tape from the
front of control base.
H. REMOVING TIME CONTROLLER
After removing control circuit board;
(1) Pull out the control knob.
(2) Remove 6 screws securing the control frame.
(3) Remove a hex. nut securing the time controller
to the control base.
1.REMOVING DOOR
(1) Remove 2 bolts secu~.the upper hinge.
(2) TM the top of the door toward you.
(3) Lift up the door to remove it.
NOTES
After replacing the door, be sure to ~eck that
the latch interlock switches, monitor and door
sensing switches operate normally.
(See 1 and 6)
After replacing the door, check for microwave
energy leakage with a leakage detector.
Microwave energy leakage must be below the
limit of 5 mW/cm2.

J. CHANGING POWER SUPPLY CORD
(For EM-C2000 Germany)
(1) Unfasten 3 screws of the connector socket and
pull out the tip of the power supply cord securing
connector socket.
(2) Remove lscrewsecuring the bottom bracket
which is mounted the cord busing.
(3) Install the new power supply cord with reverse
procedure of above(1) to (2).
WARNING :
For changing the power supply cord, never use other
parts than following.

K. REMOVING MAGNETRON
(See Figure 15)
1. When removing Magnetron on the front side;
(1) Remove all lead wires from blower motoc
magnetron and thermal protection
magnetron.
(2) Remove the exhaust duct on the rear cavity by
loosing 4 screws to detach 1 screw securing the
stay.

Re-move the stay by removing screw securing 2
magnetrons, front and rear cavity and 2 blower
motor assembly.
Remove 1 screw securing the duct covered on
2 magnetrons.
Remove 4 hex. nuts securing the front side
magnetron to the wave guide.
Draw out the left side end of blower duct by
twisting to left turn to draw out from the upper
lever stopper.
Note; When the connectors of the door sensing
switch disturb the above action, remove
them.
(7) Remove magnetron with blower assembly
from the wave guide VERY CAREFULLY.
Note;
When replacing magnetron, install
magnetron, blower and duct after
assembled them.

2. When removing Magnetron on the back side;
(1) Remove all lead wires from blower motor,
magnetron and thetmal protector on
magnetron.
(2) Remove the stay.
(3) Remove 2 screws securing the back side
duct.
(4) Remove magnetron with blower assembly
from the wave guide VERY CAREFULLY.
NOTES
When removing the magnetron, make sure that
its dome does not hit any adjacent parts, or it
may be damaged.
When replacing the magnetron, be sure to install
the magnetron gasket in the correct position and
be sure that the gasket is in good condition.
After replacing the magnetron, be sure to check
the microwave energy leakage with a leakage
detector and confirm the leakage is below 5
mW/cm;

HOW TO RESET THE MEMORY OF
ACCUMULATIVE COOKING TIME;
Note ; Number of the door operating time can
not be clear.
When new magnetron is replaced, accumulative
ooddng time must be set to “zero” as follows.
(1) Touch “C key. The “O” will appear on the display.
(2) Touch “Clock matk” key. The colon and power
level ten bar will appear on the display.
(3) Touch number key “8” three times. The “8.88”
will appear on the display.
(4) Continuously touch course key”1”. “88.81” will

Touch “Start” key again. The displayed number
shows the accumulative cooking time.
