It utilizes ion exchange resin, magnesium oxide buffering agent, and precoat filtration to reduce hardness, chlorine, off tastes, and odors. The small amount of carbon filtered water bypasses the softening resin to maintain low TDS levels, while the buffering agent prevents the water from becoming too acidic.
