Regional Codes
This unit has a regional code printed on the rear of the unit. This unit can play
only DVD discs labeled same as the rear of the unit or “ALL”.
Most DVD discs have a globe with one or more numbers in it clearly visible
on the cover. This number must match your unit’s regional code or the disc
cannot play.
If you try to play a DVD with a different regional code from your player, the
message “Check Regional Code” appears on the TV screen.

are recorded on some discs. When recording and playing the pictures of these

owners. Use of this copyright protection technology must be authorized by
Macrovision Corporation, and is intended for home and other limited viewing

(or DVD±R/RW) disc itself, some CD-R/RW (or DVD±R/RW) discs may
not be played on the unit due to the recording quality or physical condition
of the disc, or the characteristics of the recording device and authoring
software. The disc will not play if it has not been correctly finalized. Player
does not support these kinds of discs.

Setting up
FM Telescopic Antenna
Pull the telescopic antenna out and adjust the
angle and direction for better reception.
The AC Power Cord Connection
1. Before connecting the AC power cord, check
that the operating voltage of your unit is
identical with the voltage of your mains label.
2. Connect one end of the AC power cord
(supplied) to the AC IN socket located at the
backside of your unit.
3. Plug the other end into the wall outlet.
Note:
Unplug the AC power cord from the wall outlet if

Use your player as an alarm clock
Press and hold TIMER for two seconds. Each function, TUNER, CD,
TAPE flashes for two seconds. Press SET when the function you want to
be woken by is showing.
If you choose TUNER, “PLAY” and “REC” flashes in the display window
alternately. Choose one of them by pressing the SET.
If you choose CD or TAPE you will be shown below.
You will be shown the ON TIME display. This is where you set the time
you want the alarm to go off. Use

Adjust the audio settings
DRC (Dynamic Range Control)
The dynamic range (the difference between the loudest sound and the quietest
one) can be compressed during playback of a DVD encoded in Dolby Digital
format. This function takes effect when a DVD VIDEO disc recorded in Dolby
Digital format is played back at low or middle volume. Set DRC to On for this
effect.
Adjust the others settings
PBC (Playback Control) – Playback control provides special navigation fea-
tures that are available on some disc. Select [On] to use this feature.
Adjust the language settings
Menu Language – Select a language for the Setup menu and on-screen dis-
play.
Disc Audio/Subtitle/Menu Select a language for the Audio/ Subtitle/ Menu.
[Original]: Refers to the original language in which the disc was recorded.
[Others]: To select another language, press number buttons then ENTER to
enter the corresponding
4-digit number according to the language code list in the reference chapter
(see page 15). If you make a mistake while entering number, press CLEAR
repeatedly to delete numbers one by one then correct it.
[OFF] (for Disc Subtitle): Turn off Subtitle.

Press REPEAT repeatedly to select an item to be repeated. The current title,
chapter or track will be played back repeatedly.
To return to normal playback, press REPEAT repeatedly to select [OFF].
