Introduction
Windows CE is an OS designed intended for embedded use with a modular structure allowing only the
required modules to be implemented. It is one of the OSs which have big advantages for embedded
use, such as being lighter than the other types of Windows OSs, ease of turning the power on/off, fast
boot, and low price.
Small BOX-PCs with Windows CE installed have been used as embedded PCs in place of conventional
PC/AT compatible PCs, PLCs, and dedicated microcontrollers for embedded applications. They can
provide further probabilities depending on your ideas.
The IPC-BX/M10DC5 is a Windows CE installed, small BOX-PC based on the SH-4(HD6417751R)
CPU. It was developed as the compatible but faster successor to the IPC-BX/MSH3 series based on
the SH-3 CPU.
The IPC-BX/M10DC5 is designed as a general-purpose hardware platform with basic I/O interfaces
such as the COM ports and Ethernet connector as found on the IPC-BX/MSH3 series and insulated I/O
and USB channels as well, capable of serving for Windows CE applications.
Features
The IPC-BX/M10DC5 is a small "postcard size" box computer (BOXPC®). It provides standard
interfaces such as the COM ports, LAN connector, and USB connectors as well as the PC/104 bus for
future enhancement.
- Compact design (Almost the A6 size)
- 128MB(SDRAM) system memory standard
- 128MB of internal, erasable programmable Flash ROM available as a user area, allowing user
programs to be added and deleted
-
Equipped with serial ports (2ch), USB ports (2ch), PC card slots, 100BASE-TX, general
purpose I/O, stereo sound function as standard. Installed supporting I/F drivers as
standard.
- XIP & memory loading boot function enabling quick startup in shortest about 10 seconds
- Installed "CONTEC Manager" for system development support
(such as scheduling, FTP server, autorun).
- PC/104 Bus
