1.1 Problem
Upgrade failure
Upgrading the Windows XP Pro OS to service pack 2 is curren tly not possible. Due to an
incompatibility with the single board computer’s video card driver (native resolution of 1366
x 1024) upgrading will result into a “crashed” WinXP operating system.
1.2 Solution in case of a crashed OS

In case the service pack 2 has been installed and the operating system do
es not start
anymore, the update should be rem oved. Please proceed as follow.
How to restore the crashed OS
1.Start windows into the Save mode by press ing F 8 button before Windows is loaded.
Tip: Make sure you press th e F8 key at the right time. If the F8 m e thod does not wor k,
repeat the steps, but press the F8 key more quickly, or press it seve ral times.
2.Once Windows is started up , click Start, click Run, type appwiz.

Tip: You can also use the Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
3.Click to select the Show Updates check box.
4.Click W indows XP Service Pack 2, and th en click Remove
5.Follow the instruction s on the screen to remove W indows XP SP2.
