Definitions
A2DP Advanced Audio Distribution Profile, the
Bluetooth
® protocol that is built
into MediaHub HD for streaming high quality audio wirelessly between devices.
For example, music can be streamed from a mobile smartphone to an in-room
stereo/TV speaker using MediaHub HD as the receiver.
Auto-Sensing the automatic detection of a device plugged into an audio/video
port of the MediaHub. For example, MediaHub will auto-sense a Composite AV
source when a device is connected to the 3RCA ports and begin playing the
Composite AV Out content. When a laptop is plugged into the PC socket,
MediaHub will detect a PC Video source and switch to play the laptop video.
Auto-Switching the automatic switching of the TV input away from
regular tuner mode (TV Mode) to the MediaHub’s portable device content
(MediaHub Mode).
Control Cable MediaHub HD uses serial or game control protocol for
implementing the TV auto-switching feature. Most hospitality TVs support control
protocols through the following ports:
RS232 Serial Port (DB9)
Serial Control Jack (3.5mm)
Ex-Link Serial Control Jack (3.5mm)
RJP (RJ45 LG Remote Jack Pack)
GAME/DATA (RJ12 on TV or STB)
DIP Switches MediaHub HD has eight (8) DIP Switches located on the rear
of the unit. (Figure 1) These switches must be configured accordingly to allow
appropriate communication between MediaHub and TV/STB. See Installation
& Usage section for DIP Switch setting required for standard installation, and the
TV/STB-Supported Installation section for setting required for specific TV/STB
auto-switching installation.
RS232 MediaHub HD supports RS-232 serial control protocol for implementing
the TV auto-switching feature. Most hospitality TVs support RS232 protocol through
their RS232 Serial port (circular port with nine pins), or through their 3.5mm Serial
Control port.

Electrical Requirements
A 120-volt, 60Hz, 15-Amp electrical supply is required for the TA-7650. A
standard duplex (2) 120-volt, 60Hz, 15-Amp electrical supply is required for
the TA-7650 plus TA-7500L.
Care and Maintenance
Though TeleAdapt MediaHubs are designed for durability, they still remain
complex electronic devices. As such, care needs to be taken with how they are
handled. The following are tips to care for your system:
If the MediaHub has visible smudges, fingerprints, or other foreign material,
you can clean it by using a soft clean cloth such as a lens or eyeglass
cleaning cloth.
Slightly dampen a corner of the cloth with water and wipe off the unit
housing to loosen any dirt or foreign material. Using a dry portion of the same
cloth, wipe the housing to dry.
Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to
clean the MediaHub.
Your TeleAdapt MediaHub should never be positioned or installed anywhere
where it could get hit, dropped, or banged around.
Do not drop, knock, or shake the device. Rough handling can harm
internal operations.
Your MediaHub should be dry. Liquids or moisture can cause damage to
internal electronic circuits. If your unit gets wet, immediately remove power
allowing the unit to dry before re-applying power.
Do not store the MediaHub in hot areas. High temperatures can shorten the
life of electronic components and warp or melt certain plastics.
Do not attempt to open the MediaHub gaining access to the internal
infrastructure. Please notify TeleAdapt service and support personnel
regarding return materials authorization policy.

reminds you that in the European Union all electrical and electronic products must
be taken to separate collection at the end of their working life. Do not dispose of
these products as unsorted municipal waste.
Return the products to collection to prevent possible harm to the environment or
human health from uncontrolled waste disposal and to promote the sustainable
reuse of material resources.

in-room entertainment system, allowing guests to access the MediaHub HD plug
ports can be done through one of three common guest-access techniques.
Option 1:
“Channel map” the TV’s HDMI AUX port used to connect MediaHub HD
(e.g., HDMI1) to a number in the VOD/PPV/FTG channel roster. Using the
guest remote control, guests simply change the channel to the number
assigned to MediaHub HD.
Option 2:
Program the guest remote control to make the in-room TV’s HDMI AUX
available to the guest via the INPUT button. Using the guest remote
control, guests simply press the INPUT button to play content from the
MediaHub HD.

Standard Auto-Sensing Feature
MediaHub HD has been engineered with a built-in auto-sensing audio/video
function. Multiple devices may be connected to the MediaHub HD at once. The
connectivity panel will recognize and automatically play content from the most
recently populated AV socket. To switch back to a previously used audio/video
port, press the LED/button above the desired AV socket.
Using MediaHub HD
When in use, MediaHub HD’s LED/buttons located above the sockets will light up notifying
you of which port is in use.
To change devices, plug in a new device using a new socket. TV will automatically play
content from the most recently populated socket. When connecting multiple devices, guests
may toggle between devices by pressing the LED/buttons located above the sockets.

TV/STB Supported Installation
For Implementing Auto-Switching Feature
MediaHub HD can be configured to automatically switch the TV input source to the TV’s
HDMI Auxiliary port once a device is plugged into the panel, without the need to use the
remote control INPUT button, channel map or on-screen prompts. This configuration requires
a serial control connection to a hospitality TV or Tuner Card/Set Top Box that has firmware
integrated with the TeleAdapt MediaHub HD.
The following pages outline instructions are for installing MediaHub HD with a specific brand
TV/STB supported serial control installation.
For hotel room environments that are integrating a TV plus VOD STB, MediaHub
may have direct serial control integration with both the TV serial port and the VOD
serial or data port. Please use the following list of priority connections when
determining which connection you should use to install MediaHub:
#1 PriorityConnect to LodgeNet Game/Data port
#2 PriorityConnect to RJP port (on most LG TVs)
#3 Priority Connect to VOD STB Serial Control port (such as Enseo)
#4 PriorityConnect to TV Serial Control port
