operation

CAUTION
4.1 Safety
4.2 Initial use
Spread the electric underblanket flat out on your mattress so that the cable entrance is located approximately at shoulder height.
The electric blanket can be used on both sides. Then put on your bedsheet in the usual manner so that the electric underblanket is
between your mattress and the bedsheet.
CAUTION
Make sure that the underblanket is always spread out flat and does not get pushed together or wrinkle during use. Check its
position when making the bed. The electric underblanket may only be switched on when it is spread out flat.
We recommend switching on the electric underblanket and covering it with the quilt for approx. 30 minutes before going to bed to
prevent the heat from escaping. First select the highest temperature setting (level 6). This produces the fastest warming.
First, connect the controller to the blanket by inserting the plug-in connector.
Then connect the mains cable to the transformer.
Then plug the mains plug into the socket.
The red indicator lamp on the transfomer lights up.
HNL4112Z has 1 transformer
HNL4212Z has 2 transformers
This heated underblanket is equipped with the INVENTUM SAFETY SYSTEM (ISS). This sensor technology prevents the
entire surface of the heated underblanket from overheating by automatically switching off the heated underblanket in the
event of a fault. If the safety system has switched off the heated underblanket, the temperature setting is not illuminated
any more even when the heated underblanket is switched on.
Please note that the heated underblanket is not operable any more due to safety reasons in this case and has to be sent to
the service address indicated.
Do not connect the defective heated underblanket with another control of the same type. This would trigger a permanent
switch off via the control’s safety system.

4.3 Switching on
Slide the on-/ off button (9) on the side of the controller (2) to position 1 ( I ), to switch the electric blanket on.
When it is switched on, the LED-indicator for temperature setting 1 lights up.
4.4 Setting the temperature
Press the button (7) to increase the temperature.
Press the button (8) to decrease the temperature.
Position 1: minimum warmth
Position 2-5: individual warmth
Position 6: maximum warmth
CAUTION
If the electric underblanket is used continuously (for several hours)
it is recommended to use the lowest setting (1) of the control to
avoid overheating of the user.
NOTE
• The foot area of this electric underblanket is heated to a greater temperature than the rest of the blanket.
• The fastest way to warm up the electric underblanket is to initially set the highest temperature setting.
• We strongly recommend switching on the electric underblanket approx. 30 minutes before going to bed and
covering it with the duvet in order to prevent heat loss.
4.5 Switching off
Slide the on-/ off button (9) at the side of the controller to position 0, to switch the electric blanket off.
Only the red LED on the transformer is then lit. When you remove the mains plug from the socket, the red LED on the transformer also
switches off.
4.6 Automatic switch off
This electric underblanket switches off automatically after 12 hours. Once the electric underblanket has switched off, it is no longer
heated and the LED for temperature setting 1 flashes.
To switch on the electric underblanket again, first set the ON/OFF switch on the side of the controller to the OFF ( 0 ) position for 5
seconds. Then set the ON/OFF switch back to ON ( I ) and select the desired temperature setting.
WARNING
Always disconnect the power plug from the socket outlet before cleaning the electric blanket. Otherwise,
this could cause an electric shock. Then remove the controller from the electric underblanket by
disconnecting the plug-in connector.
CAUTION
The controller and the transformer must never come into contact with water or other liquids. Otherwise,
this could damage them.
To clean the controller and transformer, use a dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use any chemical or abrasive cleaning agents.
Small marks on the electric underblanket can be removed with a damp cloth or sponge, or if necessary, with a little liquid detergent for
delicate laundry.
16 English
CAUTION
Please note that the electric blanket should not be dry-cleaned, wrung out, machinedried, pressed or ironed.
In case of heavier soiling, this electric blanket can be washed in a washing machine. Set the washing machine to a particularly gentle,
30°C cycle (woollens programme). Use a wool laundry detergent and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
If the electric underblanket is not being used for several days, slide the ON/OFF switch [9] to the OFF ( 0 ) position and
remove the mains plug from the socket.
NOTE
CAUTION
Please note that excessive washing will wear out the electric blanket. For this reason, the electric blanket
should only be machine-washed a maximum of 5 times throughout its entire life.
Immediately after washing, reshape the electric underblanket to its original dimensions while it is still wet and spread it out flat over a
clothes horse to dry.
CAUTION
Do not use pegs or similar items to attach the electric underblanket to the clothes horse. Otherwise, the electric
underblanket may be damaged.
Do not reconnect the controller to the electric underblanket until the plug-in connector and electric underblanket are
completely dry. Otherwise, the electric underblanket may be damaged.
storage
6
CAUTION
Please allow the electric underblanket to cool down first.
Otherwise, the electric underblanket may be damaged. To avoid
sharp folds in the electric underblanket, do not place any objects
on top of it while it is being stored.
If you are not going to use the electric blanket for some time, we recommend storing it in its original packaging in a dry place without
weighing it down. For this purpose, disconnect the controller from the electric underblanket by unplugging the plug-in coupling.
disposal
7
Legislation requires that all electrical and electronic equipment must be collected for reuse and recycling. Electrical and
electronic equipment marked with the symbol indicating separate collection of such equipment must be returned to a
municipal waste collection point.
