Installation Instructions
v1.0
Warning: To be installed and/or used in accordance with
appropriate electrical codes and regulations. If you are not sure
about any part of these instructions, consult a qualified
electrician.
Introduction: Thank you for your purchase of a Knoll HDMI
wireless system. This system will take any HDMI signal and
transmit it to its receiver which can be up to 30 meters (about
100 feet) away in ideal conditions, even through walls.
Please note that this wireless system may not work well or not
at all in certain environments that have high electro-magnetic
interference at times. Suitability for use should always be tested
when possible.
Features:
Working frequency range: 2.4 GHz and 4.9 to 5.9 GHz
Supports video resolution: 480p, 576p, 720p, 1,080p
Supports HDMI® video audio format and HDCP 1.2 with
video encryption
Supporting link speeds: up to 2.5 Gbps per channel
Certification: 802.11a/n
Omni-directional antennas
Up to 30 meters transmit distance with ultra low latency
Infrared remote control pass through
Wiring:
Gently connect your HDMI source with a short as possible (less
than 10 meters or 30 feet) HDMI wire to the Transmitter.
Connect the Receiver to the TV, display or monitor with a
second short as possible HDMI wire. Make sure the HDMI wires
are top quality. If required connect the infrared emitter on the
Transmitter and place the emitter on the source component
needing control.
Power Supply Connection:
After connecting the HDMI wires, insert the 5 volt plug on each
of the supplied power supply to the Transmitter and Receiver.
Next plug the AC side of the power supply into wall outlets or if
possible the switched outlet on the source component. There is
no on/off switch.
LED Indicators:
Both the Transmitter and Receiver each have three front panel
LED’s. The red LED indicates that the units are powered up
correctly. The green on the right indicates when the units are
ready to receive or transmit. The middle green LED is on (not
blinking) when a good quality synced signal is going though its
processors.
Troubleshooting:
If the NOCAT-HDMI system does not appear to be functioning,
make certain the source and the destination devices connected
are functioning and turn on. Reconnect the devices using
maximum 3 meter (10 foot) long cables (in other words make
sure the problem is not long cables in which case a HDMI balun
may be required). If the signal is present then make sure both
the Transmitter and Receiver are getting power. If it still does
not work, carefully inspect the cables and connectors for any
damage. If the system is still not working the Transmitter and
Receiver may be too far apart. Try moving them closer.
If the Receiver picks up some interference it may result in a
poorer quality video or a buzz in the sound. If this persists try
unplugging the Receiver and plugging it back in to reset its
interference protection.
This product can get very warm when operating. This is normal.
Non HDCP Compliant Devices:
If a destination device does not appear to work, make certain
that the device is HDCP compliant. A non-HDCP compliant
device will not work with a signal that has HDCP encoding
present.
