Congratulations on your investment in the MT5000 Tote
for walk behind mowers. This Tote has been designed
to ensure your precision valuable mower is safely and
gently transported from place to place with no disruption
to cutting height settings. The springing arrangement
ensures no mower fatigue occurs. It is ergonomically
designed to suit most operators which makes this unique
Tote a pleasure to work with.
The following operation and maintenance manual
has been prepared for use with the MT5000 Tote for
walk behind mowers. It is intended as a guide and
supplemental updates to the manual may take place at a
future date.
This machine is engineered to be simple and easy to
maintain. If you have any questions or concerns that this

Safety Information
Safety Information
Safety is of the utmost importance when operating
turf equipment.
To ensure safe operation of the MT5000 Tote, please
follow the safety guidelines.
Always make a pre-operation inspection. If this
procedure is not carried out damage to property or
personnel may occur.
Keep children, pets and inexperienced personnel away
from the Tote. This tote should only be operated by
trained and skilled personnel.
check with your supervisor if you are unsure.
Maximum recommended towing speed is not to
exceed 12 mph (20 kph). Subject to conditions.
Recommended maximum tow hitch coupling height
300mm (12”). Minimum 250mm (10”).

Warranty
Universal Conditions
Tru-Turf Pty. Ltd. (Tru-Turf) will repair or replace any item or part
of a Tru-Turf Golf Greens Roller that is defective in workmanship
or material for a period of twenty four (24) months or unless
otherwise stated, from the date of delivery of the new product
to the original end user. Items identi ed as warrantable will be
repaired or replaced by an approved Tru-Turf Dealer.
Products Protected By This Warranty
This Warranty relates to the following products
manufactured by Tru-Turf, listed by model series;
a). GR7000, GR11000, RB48, RS48, R52 & SC48 series golf
greens rollers.
b). TR66 triplex smoothing heads and triplex mower
attachment hardware.
c). SR72 Sports Turf Roller.
d). MT5000 Series Totes are covered for a period of twelve
(12) months.
Ensure that your dealer has completed and submitted the
Online Warranty Registration and Inspection Report Form
applicable to your unit. This will ensure that it has been sent
directly to Tru-Turf for registration.
Parts Warranted by OEM Suppliers to Tru-Turf
Speci c component parts supplied to Tru-Turf Pty. Ltd. by OEM
suppliers are covered by that supplier’s Warranty. These parts
and components include Eaton Transmissions, Honda Engines,
Sevcon & Curtis Controllers & Foot Pedals, Falk Gearboxes &
Electric Motors. Only Tru-Turf manufactured parts qualify for the
twenty four (24) month warranty.
Normal Wear and Tear
Tru-Turf will not repair or replace parts that are subject to
normal wear and tear and or that are subject to regular
maintenance intervals as speci ed in the product Operators
Manual. These parts include, but are not limited to, oils,  lters,
tyres, shafts, bearings, blades, spikers, slicers, brakes, belts,
hoses, spark plugs, drive chains, sprockets, drive rollers &
smoothing rollers.
Other Items Not Covered By This Warranty
Tru-Turf will not repair or replace any item that has been
damaged by accident, lack of reasonable care and protection or
lack of suitable storage. Tru-Turf will not warrant parts that have
been altered or modi ed, nor aftermarket parts  tted without
written Tru-Turf approval. Tru-Turf will not warrant used parts
that are installed in place of failed parts.
Tru-Turf will not warrant parts that have not been installed by
an approved Tru-Turf dealer, nor will Tru-Turf warrant parts that
have not been maintained per the Operator’s Manual.
The product is to be made available for Warranty repairs at the
approved Tru-Turf dealer’s premises or by arrangement with the
approved dealer.
Service calls, overtime-labour rates and freight costs related to
the return of the faulty product to Tru-Turf or its agents are not
included.
Tru-Turf shall not be liable for any consequential loss, damage
or costs incurred by or incidental to the failure of any new part
supplied with the original purchase or any new part supplied as
a replacement for any failed part.
Ensure that you the owner or the Dealer has lodged the
completed Warranty Registration and Inspection Report Form,
On-line, applicable to your unit and that it has been returned to
Tru-Turf for registration. This record must be referred to along
with the reasons why the purchaser believes that the product
or a part is defective in the categories of faulty material or
workmanship.
Acceptance or rejection of the Warranty Claim is entirely at the
discretion of Tru-Turf or their OEM Suppliers who warrant their
own part/s.
The Warranty Registration and Inspection Report Form along
with the TRU-TURF Pty. Ltd. Warranty Terms & Conditions
statement are available for viewing, download or printing as
a ready reference by simply clicking the link provided on our
website.
The Warranty Registration and Inspection Report Form must be
signed by both the Dealer Rep and the Customer and returned
or any warranty claim/s will be denied.
No person or organisation has the authority to modify the terms or conditions or limitations of this Warranty without the written consent of Tru-Turf.

When you receive the carton, it will contain various
components ready for assembly.
If you have any problems during assembly, please call
your local distributor or agent.

Assembly Procedure
Remove components from cardboard carton.
In conjunction with drawings on pages 9, 17 and
assemble as follows: Starting with Lower or Bottom
Main Frame (MT142).
Slide the drawbar (MT102) into the locating section on
the front centre of Main Frame (MT142) at point (A),
fasten with /” x 2 /” bolt & Nyloc nut.
Tighten Bolt.
Remove the 4 nuts from each hub, then  t the two
wheels (R6039) onto the hubs,  t the nuts and tighten
the nuts securely.
Check tire air pressure 15psi (103kpa)
Take upper locking bar (MT103) slide it into receptacle
on (MT101) upper or top frame at point ‘B’. Then place
mower rest (MT107) Jake & John Deere page 16 or
(MT106) Toro page 15 over the receptacle at point ‘B’
on (MT101), align all holes and fasten with a /” x 3” NF
bolt and Nyloc nut, tighten.
For Baroness mowers (refer to page 17 for drawing).
Before  tting the upper locking bar (MT103), remove
the plastic plug from the end of the upper locking bar
that  ts into the socket on the upper frame (MT101).
Fit the upper locking bar (MT103) into the socket, then
slide the tube end of the Catch assembly (MT170) into
the upper locking bar, align holes then  t bolt & nut,
then tighten.
Ensure the rest used has the sloping surface facing in
the correct direction and the latch (MT170) is facing
upwards as per the images on page 17.
Attach Mower Tray (MT104) to the outside of the top
frame (MT101). Use four /” x 2/” NF Bolts and Nyloc
nuts, tighten securely.
Tighten All Bolts Securely.
Select the axle retainer brackets (MT130) and (MT131).
Bolt them to the side of the tray (MT104), use the
adjustable holes to correctly position the bracket to
ensure the mower axle being used will  t between the
vertical down plates, a minimum end of axle clearance
to the down plate is /” (20mm) is desirable.
When mower is loaded drop safety pin inserted into
plates (MT130) and (MT131) respectively, this prevents
the mower moving o the tote backwards when
transporting.
Attach gas Strut (MT113) shaft end to (MT102) upper
drawbar; ensure locking nuts are tight against the
frame and not the rod end as these are pivot points.
Slide Drawbar tongue (MT105) into end of drawbar
(MT102) and attach with two /” x 2” bolts and / Nyloc
Nuts.
Use clasp & ratchet strap unit (MT148) for Toro, John
Deere & Jake or latch (MT170) for Baroness.
ENSURE ALL BOLTS ARE TIGHTENED & FITTINGS ARE
CORRECTLY INSTALLED.

Operation Procedure
Step 1:
Connect Trailer to Towing Vehicle.
For safe operation when loading or unloading a mower,
leave the TOTE connected at all times.
Step 2:
Loading Mower onto Tote:
A. Release Upper Frame Locking Catch; (MT115).
B. Raise the Upper Draw Bar (MT103) this will lower
Mower Support Tray (MT104) to the ground.
C. Raise the pins in (MT130) & (MT131), roll the mower
onto the mower tray, ensuring that it is located
between and under the axle retainer brackets
(MT130) and (MT131).
Step 3:
Securing the mower before towing Tote:
A. Tilt mower handle forward until it rests on the
handle support bracket; (MT107) John Deere &
Jake, (MT106) Toro or (MT170) Baroness.
B. Use the correct clasp, strap & ratchet unit (MT148)
John Deere, Jake and Toro or (MT170) Baroness to
retain mower handle.
C. Use the Ratchet to tighten the strap.
D. Drop safety pins in (MT130) and (MT131) to prevent
mower from escaping from the tray (MT104) during
towing.
Step 4:
Push down on upper frame at handle until catch (MT115)
locks down on top of the drawbar (MT102).
Step 5:
Turn o the fuel tap. The mower is now ready to be
transported to it’s next location.
Step 6:
Unloading the Mower is the reverse procedure to loading.
Step 7:
Maximum recommended towing speed for MT5000 Tote
is not to exceed 12 mph (20kph).
Step 8:
Allow a few seconds for the mower to be lowered to the
ground after releasing the catch (MT115). The mower is
lowered through strut (MT113).
Note for John Deere mowers:
Drill two holes thru the existing bracket under the handle
and attach bracket (MT171). Use the (MT148) clasp, strap
& ratchet unit. Detailed  tting instructions for (MT171) are
on page 14. For Baroness mowers - the ’U’ bracket located
under the handle is used to secure the mower into catch
(MT170).

Adjusting the Axles for Camber & Toe In
To adjust the axle camber if required:
NOTE :
The axle camber should be set to 1° positive.
1. Loosen the nut(s) on the pivot bracket only.
2. Insert shim packer/s between the swing arm & pivot
bracket.
3. When the required axle camber is achieved tighten
the nut(s).
To adjust the axle toe in if required:
1. Loosen the nut on the inner pivot bracket where it
attaches to the swing arm. The hole in the swing
arm is slotted to allow it to be moved into a positive
toe in position.
2. When the correct alignment is achieved tighten the
nut.

Fitting Instructions - John Deere
John Deere Mower Clasp Bracket
Fit bracket (MT171) to cross member joining the handle
tube sections by drilling 2 x /” holes, using the bracket
to determine the hole centres.
Take care not to drill into the control cables.
Use the 2 of /” x 1” long bolts supplied to attach the
bracket tightly in place.
Use this bracket to hook the clasp onto when the mower
is loaded onto the tote and when transporting it.
