KNOW YOUR KETTLE
Warning: Do not insert any
foreign objects or allow any
liquid spilling to the Power
Connector Hole.
BEFORE USING YOUR KETTLE
If you are using the kettle for the first time, clean your kettle by boiling a full kettle of water twice and then discarding
the water. Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft damp cloth.
USING YOUR KETTLE
1. To fill the kettle, remove it from the stand and open the lid. Fill with the desired amount of water. The water level
should be between the MAX and MIN marks. Too little water will result in the kettle switching off before the water
has boiled. Close the lid.
CAUTION: If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
2. Place the kettle on the stand.
3. Connect the plug to a power outlet. Move the On/Off switch to the ON position (indicated by the symbol "I"). The
indicator will light. The kettle will switch off automatically once the water has boiled.
NOTE: Ensure that the switch is not obstructed and the lid is firmly closed. The kettle will not turn off if the switch
cannot move or if the lid is open.
4. Lift the kettle from the power base and then pour the water. Be careful when pouring the water as boiling water
will scald.
NOTE: After removing the kettle, there may be some water on the surface of the stand. This is condensation
from the steam that causes the kettle to automatically switch off after boiling. This is normal and should not be a
cause for alarm.
BOIL-DRY PROTECTION
If you accidentally let the kettle operate without water, the boil-dry protection will automatically switch off the power. If
this occurs, allow the kettle to cool for ten minutes before refilling with cold water and re-boiling.
CLEANING THE KETTLE
Delicate marks will be left on the power-base when rotating the kettle, this can be easily removed by using a soft
damp cloth, but never allow water spilling to the power connector hole. The kettle’s exterior can also be cleaned with
a soft damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads which may damage the finish of the kettle. Never
immerse the kettle or power-base in water and always keep the electrical contacts dry. Disconnect from the mains
before cleaning the power-base.
CLEANING THE REMOVABLE SCALE FILTER
To prevent loose particles of limescale being poured into your beverage, your kettle is designed to fit with a scale
filter.
x To fit in the filter, open the lid, place the the filter inside the bracket at the
spout, and push it down till it fit in place.
x To remove the filter, open the lid, lift up the filter from the bracket at the spout.
DESCALING THE KETTLE
After some time, limescale may be deposited on the inside of the kettle. This normal build-up is not harmful to health
but an excessive amount of scale may affect the operation of the kettle. If this happens use a descaling solution,
following the manufacturers’ instructions. Never attempt to descale the kettle by chipping or scraping with a sharp
implement.
