Introduction

Information for these operating instructions

These operating instructions are a component of the Mini Hair Straightener

SRHG 15 A1 (henceforth designated as the appliance) and they provide you

with important information about the intended use, safety and connection as well

as operation of the appliance.

These operating instructions must be constantly kept available close to the appli-

ance. They are to be read and applied by everyone assigned to operate, and

eliminate faults in, the appliance.

Retain these operating instructions and pass them on, with the appliance, to any

future owners.

This documentation is copyright protected.

Any copying or reproduction of it, including as extracts, as well as the reproduction

of images, also in an altered state, is only permitted with the written authorisation

of the manufacturer.

Limitation of liability

All technical information, data and instructions for the connection and operation

contained in these operating instructions correspond to the latest available at the

time of printing and, to the best of our knowledge, take into account our previous

experience and know-how.

No claims can be derived from the details, illustrations and descriptions in these

instructions.

The manufacturer assumes no liability for damage caused by failure to observe

these instructions, improper use, incompetent repairs, making unauthorised modi-

Intended use

This Hair Straightener is intended for the smoothing and shaping of human hair,

under no circumstances may it to be used for wigs and hairpieces made of

synthetic material. You may use this hair straightener for domestic purposes

only. Pay heed to the information in this operating manual, especially the safety

instructions. This appliance is not intended for commercial applications.

Any other or any additional use is considered as improper use. Claims of any kind

for damage resulting from unintended use will not be accepted. The operator alone

bears liability.

Safety instructions

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

Connect the appliance only to correctly installed mains power sockets sup- ►

plying a mains voltage of 120 - 240 V

/ 50/60 Hz.

The power cable on this appliance cannot be replaced. In the event of it ►

being damaged the whole appliance must be disposed of.

In the event of operating malfunctions and before cleaning the appliance, ►

remove the plug from the mains power socket.

To disconnect the power cable, always pull the plug from the mains power

►

socket, do not pull on the power cable itself.

Do not kink or crimp the power cable and place it in such a way as to ►

prevent anyone from stepping on or tripping over it.

Ensure that the power cable cannot become wet or damp while the appli-

►

ance is in operation. Place it such that it cannot be crushed or damaged.

Should the appliance, the power cable or the plug become damaged, ►

to avoid personal risks arrange for it/them to be repaired by Customer

Services.

Do not use this appliance outdoors. ►

Do not wrap the power cable around the appliance and protect it from ►

being damaged. Under no circumstances may the appliance be submersed

in ﬂ uids or ﬂ uids be allowed to permeate the housing. Do not expose the

appliance to humidity and do not use it outdoors. Should liquids enter the

housing, unplug the appliance from the power socket immediately and

arrange for it to be repaired by a qualiﬁ ed technician.

To ensure that you can disconnect the appliance quickly in an emergency, ►

do not use extension cables.

NEVER grasp the appliance, power cable or power plug with wet hands. ►

Disconnect the appliance from mains power immediately after use. The ►

appliance is completely free of electrical power ONLY when unplugged .

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

Never use the appliance near water, particularly not near sinks,

baths or other containers. The proximity of moisture presents a

danger, even when the appliance is switched oﬀ . After use, always

remove the plug from the power socket. As additional protection,

the installation of a faulty-current protection unit with an activation

power rating of not more than 30 mA is recommended for the

power circuit in the bathroom. Consult your electrician for advice .

NEVER leave a switched on appliance unsupervised.

Do not place the appliance close to sources of heat and protect the power ►

cable against damage..

Do not operate the appliance if it has fallen or is in any way damaged.

Arrange for the appliance to be checked and/or repaired by qualiﬁ ed

technicians.

Do not attempt to open the housing or to repair it yourself. Should you ►

do so, appliance safety can no longer be assured and the warranty will

become void. Permit only authorised technicians to repair a defective

appliance if repairs should be necessary.

This appliance becomes hot during use. Hold it only by the grip when it is ►

hot.

This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children)

with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deﬁ ciences

in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person

responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the

appliance is to be used. Children should be supervised to ensure that they

do not play with the appliance.

NOTICE

If the delivery is not complete, or is damaged due to defective packaging ►

or through transportation, contact the Service Hotline (see section

"Warranty and Service").

Unpacking

Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the ♦

carton.

Remove all packaging material.

WARNING

Packaging material should not be used by children as a play thing. ►

There is a risk of suﬀ ocation.

Disposal of the packaging

The packaging protects the appliance from transport damage. The packaging

materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness

and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.

The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material and

reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging material that is

no longer needed as per the regionally established regulations.

NOTICE

If possible preserve the appliance's original packaging during the warranty ►

period so that, in the event of a warranty claim, you can package the appli-

ance ideally for its return.

Before straightening

The hair should be clean, dry and free of styling products. Excepted are the ■

special products that support a straightening of the hair.

With very curly or very thick hair,

■ lightly moisten the hair.

Comb the hair thoroughly before straightening so that there are no knots in it.

■

To achieve an especially good straightening result, spread special products ■

for hair straightening through the hair.

NOTICE

The hot plates ► 4 must be free of soiling. If necessary, clean them before

taking the appliance into use (see chapter "Cleaning").

The appliance is locked, the restraining device 1 has been slid to the position

Slide the on/oﬀ switch 2) 2 to "I". The control lamp 3 glows.

The hot plates 4 are being heated up.

Wait for approx. 1-2 minutes, then the hot plates 3) 4 will be heated up.

Straightening hair

Prepare the hair as described in "Before straightening". ■

Start with the lower hair pieces at the back of the head. Work over the sides ■

to the front.

Separate a ca. 3 cm wide hair strand.1)

WARNING - RISK OF BURNS!

Ensure that you do not touch the scalp or other skin on the body with the ►

hot plates 4.

During the procedure you may only take hold of the appliance by the

►

handle!

Clamp the strand of hair close to the scalp between the hot plates 2) 4 and

press them together.

Draw the entire strand of hair through the hot plates 3) 4 by pulling the hair

straightener downwards.

Repeat the process with each individual strand.4)

When you have smoothed all of the strands, slide the on/oﬀ switch 5) 2

to "0".. The control lamp 3 extinguishes.

Remove the power plug from the wall socket.6)

Press the hot plates 7) 4 together and slide the restraining device 1 to the

position

Safety switch oﬀ

This appliance is ﬁ tted with a safety switch-oﬀ .

After approx. 30 minutes, and without activation of the on/oﬀ switch 2, the

appliance switches itself oﬀ automatically. After approx. 25 minutes the control

lamp 3 starts to blink, to remind you it is about to switch oﬀ automatically.

Should you wish to continue using it for longer than 30 minutes, switch the appli-

ance oﬀ and then immediately back on. The 30 minutes start from the beginning

again.

NOTICE

The safety switch-oﬀ is not intended to replace switching the appliance ►

oﬀ manually with the on/oﬀ switch 2! It is only for your safety, should you

forget to switch it oﬀ !

Cleaning

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

Before cleaning, ALWAYS remove the plug from the mains power socket. ►

Risk of electic shock!

WARNING - RISK OF BURNS!

Always allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning it. ►

WARNING - PROPERTY DAMAGE!

Potential damage to the appliance.

Do not use any aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents, these could ►

damage the surfaces.

Wipe the housing and the hot plates

■ 4 with a soft damp cloth.

In cases of stubborn soiling, use some mild detergent on the moistened cloth.

■

Do not use the appliance again until it has dried completely. ■

Storage

WARNING - RISK OF BURNS!

Always disconnect the plug from the mains power socket when the appli- ►

ance is no longer in use, so as to prevent accidental activation.

WARNING - PROPERTY DAMAGE!

NEVER wrap the power cable with plug around the appliance. This could ►

lead to irreparable damage to the power cable!

When it is cooling down, always place the appliance on a heat resistant

■

surface.

Press the hot plates

■ 4 together and slide the restraining device 1 to the

position

Slide the appliance into the storage pouch

Store the appliance at a clean and dry location.

Warranty and Service

The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from the date of purchase. The

appliance has been manufactured with care and meticulously examined before

delivery.

Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the case of a warranty claim,

please make contact by telephone with our service department. Only in this way

can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.

NOTICE

The warranty covers only claims for material and maufacturing defects, not ►

for transport damage, wearing parts or for damage to fragile components,

e.g. bulbs or switches.

This product is for domestic use only and is not intended for commercial applica-

tions. The warranty is void in the case of abusive and improper handling, use of

force and internal tampering not carried out by our authorized service branch.

Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty.

The warranty period is not extended by repairs made under the warranty. This

applies also to replaced and repaired parts.

Damages and defects extant at the time of purchase must be reported immedi-

ately after unpacking, resp. no later than two days after the date of purchase.

Repairs made after the lapse of the warranty period are subject to charge.

Tämä käyttöohje on osa minisuoristusrautaa SRHG 15 A1 (jatkossa "laite") ja se

antaa tärkeitä ohjeita laitteen määräystenmukaisesta käytöstä, turvallisuudesta,

liittämisestä sekä käytöstä.

Tämän käyttöohjeen on oltava jatkuvasti käytettävissä laitteen lähellä. Jokaisen

laitteen käytön ja häiriönpoiston kanssa tekemisissä olevan henkilön on luettava

SÄHKÖISKUN VAARA

Älä koskaan käytä laitetta veden lähellä, erityisesti pesualtaiden,

kylpyammeiden tai vastaavien lähellä. Veden läheisyys aiheuttaa

aina vaaran, mikäli laite on kiinni sähköverkossa. Irrota siksi verk-

kopistoke jokaisen käyttökerran jälkeen. Lisäsuojaksi suosittelemme,

että kylpyhuoneen sähköpiiriin asennetaan vikavirtasuojalaite, jonka

mittauslaukaisuvirta ei ole enempää kuin 30 mA. Kysy neuvoja

sähköasentajaltasi .

Pakkauksen hävittäminen

Hiusten tulisi olla puhtaat ja kuivat eikä niissä saa olla muotoiluaineita. ■

Poikkeuksena ovat erityiset, hiusten suoristamista tukevat aineet.

Jos hiukset ovat erittäin kiharat tai erityisen paksut, kosteuta hiuksia

■ kevyesti.

Kampaa hiukset ennen suoristamista perusteellisesti, jotta hiuksissa ei ole

takkuja.

Suoristettaessa saavutetaan erityisen hyvä tulos, kun hiuksiin levitetään erityisiä

■

hiusten suoristukseen tarkoitettuja tuotteita.

Lämpölevyissä ► 4 ei saa olla epäpuhtauksia. Puhdista ne tarvittaessa

ennen käyttöä (katso luku "Puhdistus").

Laite on lukittu, kun lukitus 1 on työnnetty asentoon

Liitä verkkopistoke verkkopistorasiaan.1)

Työnnä virtakytkin 2) 2 asentoon "I". Merkkivalo 3 palaa. Lämpölevyt 4

kuumenevat.

Odota n. 1-2 minuuttia, sitten lämpölevyt 3) 4 ovat lämmenneet.

Työnnä lukitus 4) 1 asentoon

Hiusten suoristaminen

Valmistele hiukset kohdassa "Ennen suoristamista" kuvatulla tavalla. ■

Aloita takaraivon alimmista hiuksista. Työskentele sivujen kautta eteen. ■

Erota n. 3 cm leveä hiussuortuva.1)

VAROITUS - PALOVAMMOJEN VAARA!

Varmista, ettet koske lämpölevyillä ► 4 päänahkaa tai muita hiusten osia.

Koske käytön aikana vain laitteen kahvaan!

►

Purista hiussuortuva päänahan läheltä lämpölevyjen 2) 4 väliin ja paina

lämpölevyt yhteen.

Vedä koko hiussuortuva lämpölevyjen 3) 4 välistä vetämällä suoristusrautaa

alaspäin.

Toimi näin jokaisen hiussuortuvan kanssa.4)

Kun kaikki suortuvat on suoristettu, työnnä virtakytkin 5) 2 asentoon "0".

Merkkivalo 3 sammuu.

Vedä verkkopistoke pistorasiasta.6)

Paina lämpölevyjä 7) 4 yhteen ja työnnä lukitus 1 asentoon

Turvasammutus

Tämä laite on varustettu turvasammuttimella.

Jos virtakytkintä 2 ei käytetä n. 30 minuuttiin, laite kytkeytyy automaattisesti

pois päältä. N. 25 minuutin kuluttua merkkivalo 3 alkaa vilkkua muistutukseksi

turvasammutuksesta.

Jos haluat käyttää laitetta 30 minuuttia pidempään, kytke laite pois päältä ja heti

uudelleen päälle. Silloin 30 minuutin jakso alkaa alusta.

Turvasammutus ei korvaa sammutusta käsin virtakytkimellä ► 2! Se on tarkoi-

tettu ainoastaan suojaksi, jos sammuttaminen unohtuu!
