Read the instructions, keep them safe, pass them on if you pass the appliance on.
Remove all packaging before use.
A IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Follow basic safety precautions, including:
1 This appliance must only be used by or under the supervision of a responsible adult. Use and
store the appliance out of reach of children.
2 Don’t put the appliance in liquid, don’t use it in a bathroom, near water, or outdoors.
3 Unplug the appliance before fitting or removing attachments.
4 Keep your hands away from the blades – they’re sharp
5 Don’t fill with anything hotter than you can comfortably handle (i.e. liquid temperature
below 40°C).
6 The appliance is fitted with a safety switch to prevent the motor operating unless the jug is in
place and the lid correctly fitted. Don’t use this to switch the appliance on and off.
7 Don’t leave the appliance unattended while plugged in.
8 Don’t let the jug overflow. If liquid gets under the motor unit, it may be sucked into the motor,
damaging it.
9 Don’t run the motor continuously for more than 5 minutes, it may overheat. After 5 minutes
switch off for at least 2 minutes, to recover.
10 Don’t use accessories or attachments other than those we supply.
11 Don’t use the appliance for any purpose other than those described in these instructions.
12 Don’t use the appliance if it’s damaged or malfunctions.
13 If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or
someone similarly qualified, in order to avoid hazard.

C PREPARATION
1 Sit the motor unit on a dry, firm, level surface, near a power socket.
C FIT THE DRIVE SHAFT
2 Push the drive shaft up through the bottom of the jug.
3 Use the tabs to turn it clockwise and lock it to the bottom of the jug.
, If you need to rinse the jug, turn the tabs anti-clockwise, and remove the drive shaft first, to
avoid getting it wet.
C FIT THE JUG
4 Sit the jug on the motor unit, with the handle to the right of the controls.
5 Turn the jug clockwise to bring the handle between the controls.
C FIT THE ACCESSORY
6 To process, fit the chopper over the pillar in the centre of the jug.
7 To grate or slice:
a) Fit the disc support inside the pillar, over the drive shaft.
b) Lower the disc on to the disc support.
c) To slice, the slicing blade must be on top of the disc.
d) To grate, the slicing blade must be on the bottom of the disc.
C FIT THE LID
8 Hold the lid over the jug, with the safety switch to the right of the handle.
9 Lower the lid on to the jug.
10 Turn the lid clockwise to bring the safety switch into the gap at the top of the handle.
11 The controls will only operate with the lid and jug in this position.
12 The jug will not move while the safety switch is engaged.

13 To release the jug, you must first turn the lid to bring the safety switch to the right of the
handle.
, Don’t try to move the lid or the jug while the motor is running.
C THE CONTROLS
1 Press the right hand button to run the motor continuously.
0 1 Press the left hand button to cancel continuous running, and to pulse the motor (run in
bursts) – press 0 1 to start the motor, release it to stop.
C SWITCH ON
14 Put the plug into the power socket.
r USING THE CHOPPER
15 You may use continuous running (1) or pulse (0 1).
16 Continuous running is easier, if you have to add ingredients one after another.
17 Pulse gives better control over what is happening inside the jug.
18 To add ingredients while the motor is running:
a) Lift the pusher out of the tube.
b) Add the ingredients via the tube.
c) Replace the pusher.
19 If you’re using just liquids, don’t fill the jug past the MAX LIQUID LEVEL mark.
20 If you’re using solids, or a mixture of liquids and solids, don’t fill the jug past the MAX FOOD
LEVEL mark.
, If you need to rinse the jug, turn the tabs anti-clockwise, and remove the drive shaft first, to
avoid getting it wet.
s USING THE SLICING/GRATING DISC
21 Press 1 to run the motor continuously.
22 Remove the pusher, and drop the ingredients down the tube.
23 Replace the pusher, and use it to push the ingredients gently down the tube.
24 Don’t use fingers or cutlery to push food down the tube – only the pusher.
25 The blade(s) on top of the disc will slice or grate the food into the jug.
26 Don’t let the jug get more than about half full – stop and empty it.
C CARE AND MAINTENANCE
27 Switch the appliance off (0 1) and unplug it.
28 Wash the removable parts in warm soapy water, rinse well, drain, and air dry.
29 Wipe the outside of the motor unit with a clean damp cloth.
30 Don’t put any part of the appliance in a dishwasher.
H ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
To avoid environmental and health problems due to hazardous substances in electrical
and electronic goods, appliances marked with this symbol mustn’t be disposed of with
unsorted municipal waste, but recovered, reused, or recycled.

60 g Parmesan, grated
Process the coriander, garlic, pine nuts and half the oil till smooth. Transfer to a large bowl.
Stir in the Parmesan. Add oil to adjust the consistency: For a dip: thick. For a topping: medium.
For pasta sauce: thin.
