These readings help you determine the ideal place in a garden for certain plants, even within a small area, based on the other plants in the vicinity, the amount and type of fertilizer you use, and how much you water.

How to use

1. Wipe the metal probes with a dry rag.
2. Insert the probes 4 to 6 inches into the soil.
3. Push the black switch to the middle to get a light reading.
4. Press the black switch to the left to get a moisture reading.
