Safer Paint & Varnish Stripper
contains no methylene chloride, caustic, petroleum distillates or acetone. It is
low odor and biodegradable. It is safe for indoor use and stays wet and active
up to 24 hours. Use to strip multiple layers of latex paint, oil-based paint,
varnish, lacquer, wax and stain from wood, metal and masonry surfaces.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: 1. Protect hands with chemical-resistant gloves and
eyes with chemical splash goggles. 2. Shake well. Pour into a metal or sturdy
plastic container and apply a thick coat with a paint brush. 3. After 30 minutes,
scrape a small test area to see if finish is ready for removal. Let the stripper do
the work. For oil-based coatings allow additional time up to 24 hours. Gently
scrape in direction of wood grain with a plastic stripping tool. For stubborn
areas, use an abrasive stripping pad dipped into Klean-Strip
®
Green
™
Paint &
Varnish Stripper. A toothbrush, toothpick or stripping brush will help remove old
finish buried in recesses. 4. You may use water as a wash to remove remaining
residue. Surface should be completely clean and dry before refinishing.
IMPORTANT: Carefully read all directions, notes and cautions prior to use. Only use this
product as directed on the label. Wash arms and hands after use even if gloves are
worn. HELPFUL TIPS: Test in an inconspicuous area before use on any plastic or
synthetic surface as strippers can damage these surfaces. For best results, use in
temperatures between 65° and 95°F and away from strong breezes and hot sun.
Protect surrounding areas with a heavy plastic drop cloth. CLEAN UP: The work area
and tools can be cleaned up with soap and water. DISPOSAL: If container shows signs
of deterioration, dispose of product. Dispose of leftover product at your local household
hazardous waste collection facility. If one is not available, dispose of in accordance with
federal, state and local regulations. STORAGE: Keep dry in a cool place. Avoid exposure
to high temperatures or prolonged exposure to sun.
Keep from freezing. Keep container closed
when not in use.
