InstallingtheKit
1.Raisetherearofthemowerofftheground.
2.Removetheendcapsfromthereardoorpivotshaft
andremovethedoor.
3.Removetherearwheels.
4.Removetheretainingring,piniongear,key,washer,
retainingrings,andwasherfromeachside.
Note:Ensurethatthespringforthekeyremainsin
thekeywayontheaxle.
5.Removethesnapringoffeachpivotarmunderthe
mowerhousing.
6.Slidethepivotarmsandthespringarmsofftheaxle.
Note:Discardthespringarms.
7.Removetheoldangebushingsfromthemower
housinganddiscardthem.
8.Removethehandle.
9.Removeanddiscardthesideplates.
10.Installthenewsideplates.
Note:Torquethesideplatefastenersto70–110
in-lb.
11.Installthehandle.
12.Applyageneral-purposegreasetotheoutsideface
andinnerdiameterofthenewangebushings.
13.Installthenewangebushings.
14.Installanewspringarmontoeachpivotarm.
15.Installeachpivotarm/springarmassembly.
Note:Toinstallasnapringtoeachpivotarm,
clampthepivotarm/springarmassemblytothe
mowerhousing(Figure1).

16.Installaknobontoeachspringarmsothatthe
cuppedsideistowardthemowerhousing.
17.Installthewasher,retainingring,washer,key,pinion
gearandretainingringoneachside.
Note:Installthepiniongearsothatitratchets
(freewheels)whenthetopofthegearrotatestoward
therearofthemachineandengageswhenthetop
ofthegearrotatestowardthefrontofthemachine.
Thisallowsthewheeltoratchetorfreewheelwhen
yourotateitforward.
18.Installtherearwheels.
Note:Torquethewheelhex-headboltsto250–400
in-lb.
19.Installthereardoorandsecureitwithendcaps.
