MATERIALS NEEDED
Calibration probe (colorimeter or spectrophotometer)
Calibration software/pattern generator compatible with the calibration probe (e.g., LightIllusion ColourSpace, SpectraCal Calman)
USB drive
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Connect a pattern generator or a computer running calibration software to HDMI, SDI, or DVI input (other inputs would work as well, but
digital inputs don’t require DA/AD conversion and should be more accurate).
a. The monitor should be running for at least 30 minutes prior to calibration.
2. Ready the monitor by turning on the color calibration mode.
3. Run color analysis pass to gauge color accuracy before calibration.
a. This monitor uses the full 0-255 luminance range in the RGB channels, so ensure that the pattern generator or calibration software is
set for that range.
4. Generate a 17×17×17 .cube calibration LUT using the color accuracy information gathered from the analysis pass.
a. Calibration LUT should be constrained to Rec 709 color space.
b. Calibration LUT requires table order to be RGB.
5. Save the calibration LUT to the home directory of a USB drive.
a. The drive should be FAT32 formatted using the option for Master Boot Record if available.
6. Name the LUT le Rec709.cube.
7. Insert the USB drive into the monitor.
8. The monitor will ask if you would like to load the calibration LUT within 5 seconds after the USB drive is inserted.
Note: This calibration only affects the Rec709 color space setting. Other settings (native, HDR10, etc.) will not be affected by calibration.
