Minimum requirements

The Mobile PhoneTools ASUS utility requires Windows

2000/XP/Vista operating

systems.

To ensure a successful operation of the Mobile PhoneTools ASUS, your computer

must meet the following requirements:

• A PC with a Pentium

II 460 MHz or higher level CPU

• Local hard drive with 40 MB free space

• High speed data networks options included in the subscription contract with

your mobile phone operator (for high speed e-mail and Internet use on the

mobile phone network); data service is a network and subscription dependent

feature that may not be available in all areas. Contact your wireless service

provider for details

With Microsoft Windows

• Minimum active memory: 256 MB of RAM

With Microsoft Windows

Vista

• Minimum active memory: 512 MB of RAM

The screen shots in this guide correspond to the use of the Mobile PhoneTools

ASUS in a Windows

XP environment. When running the application in other

operating systems, the screens may change. This will not impair the

software’s functionality.

Help

The Mobile PhoneTools ASUS has a context sensitive online help that can be

accessed by clicking the Help option or by pressing F1 on your keyboard. Detailed

information on how to use the Mobile PhoneTools ASUS can be found in the help

les.

Installing Mobile PhoneTools ASUS

Before connecting the mobile device to your PC, you need to install the

Mobile PhoneTools ASUS utility.

To install the Mobile PhoneTools ASUS on your hard drive, insert the CD-ROM

containing the program in the appropriate drive, and the installation process starts

automatically.

Should the installation program not start, execute the following instructions:

1. From the Start menu (accessible from the task bar), select the Run command.

2. Select the drive that contains the CD or type

D:Start

(D: represents the CD-

ROM drive).

3. To run the le, click OK.

An installation wizard will guide you step-by-step through the installation process,

prompting for needed information. During the installation procedure, the Mobile

PhoneTools ASUS utility is copied onto your hard drive.

Depending on the operating system in your PC, when the installation process is

complete, the installation wizard may ask you to restart your computer so that all

system changes take effect.

The mobile PhoneTools ASUS utility group is then accessible from the Start menu

(from the task bar) and the icon will be added to the desktop, as a shortcut, to

start the utility.

At the rst launch, the utility automatically launches Live Update and checks for

any software updates.

Mobile Device installation and conguration

Do not connect your mobile device to your PC until the device installation

instruction screen pops up.

An installation wizard will guide you step-by-step through the installation process.

When prompted, insert your mobile device to your PC; your device will be detected

and set up automatically.

The application will be launched at the end of the installation process.

Online registration

To benet from the guarantee, free upgrades, register online with our services. The

online registration wizard is automatically launched at the end of the installation

process. Simply follow the instructions displayed on the screens.

To ensure an automatic Internet connection, check that your Internet

access is available and properly set up.

If online registration could not be completed during the installation, you can also

Uninstalling Mobile PhoneTools ASUS

1. From the Windows task bar, click the Start menu and select Control Panel.

The Control Panel window opens.

2. In the list, double-click the Add/Remove program option.

3. Highlight the Mobile PhoneTools ASUS utility group and click the

Change/Remove button. The uninstallation process starts.

With the Mobile PhoneTools ASUS, you can share the information contained on

your PC with your mobile device. When your mobile device is connected to your

computer, you can perform the following operations:

• Place and receive calls.

• Send and receive SMS.

• Synchronize, manage and backup phonebook.

• Launch an internet session.

From the taskbar, double-click the icon to display the Mobile PhoneTools

ASUS main screen.

displays the Phonebook.

displays the Call Logs.

Press to access all the functionalities and set options of the Mobile

PhoneTools ASUS.
