TROUBLESHOOTING
If your cord/cordless trimmer does
not seem to be taking a charge, take the
following troubleshooting steps before
returning it for repair:
1. Be sure the electrical outlet is working
by plugging in another appliance to test it.
2. Make sure the electrical plug is not
connected to a switch that turns power
off when lights are turned off.
3. Make sure that the adapter is inserted
into the trimmer properly, all connections
are secure and the trimmer switch is in the
OFF position.
OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Before using your trimmer for the first time,
charge continuously for 16 hours. Maximum
battery capacity will only be reached after 3
charging and discharging cycles. Always switch
off trimmer for charging.
2. Always check to see if the charging light is
on when the cord is connected to the trimmer
and the unit is not in use.
3. Plug the adapter into any wall outlet (at
the voltage listed on the label affixed to the
adapter). Unplug the adapter when not in use.
4. The adapter may become warm while
charging – this is normal.
5. The battery life can be improved by
periodically allowing the trimmer to run until
the motor stops. Immediately turn the switch
and fully recharge.
FOR CORDED OPERATION
1. Connect the charging jack into the receptacle
at the bottom of the trimmer.
2. Plug the adapter into the electrical outlet.
3. Make sure the switch is in the Off position
and let the trimmer charge for a few minutes
before use.
4. Turn switch to the On position for use.
5. Unplug the adapter from the electrical outlet
after use and store in a dry place away for
small children.
6. Do not wrap cord around trimmer.

TAKING CARE OF YOUR TRIMMER
BLADE CARE
Remove the cutting guide after each use.
Cleaning the trimmer blades regularly will
maintain their optimal performance.
Removable blades
To make cleaning easier, the Conair trimmer
blades can be removed. Make sure the trimmer
is turned off. Hold the trimmer with the blades
pointing up and remove them by pressing the
top of the blade (Fig. 1).
Brush the blades using the cleaning brush to
remove any hair.
Periodically, it may be necessary to oil the
blades. After cleaning, attach a trimmer head,
switch unit on and oil the blades using a few
drops of lubricating oil.
Oil is specially formulated for trimmers;
it will not evaporate or slow the blades down.
SELF-LUBRICATING BLADES
The blades of your trimmer have a reservoir
pad for releasing the necessary amount of oil
for proper operation of your trimmers, time
after time. Nevertheless, it is recommended
that it be refilled occasionally when you notice
performance is not as high.
Remove the blades as
described above.
Squeeze a few drops of oil
onto the pad (Fig. 2).
Then replace the blades on
the trimmer.
The oil is specially formulated for the trimmer;
it does not evaporate nor does it slow the
blades.
It is also possible to obtain replacement blades
when these are worn out or damaged.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING
THE NI-MH BATTERIES OF THIS UNIT
To obtain and maintain the longest battery
autonomy possible, allow unit to charge for
16 hours before using it for the first time
and then repeat process approximately every
three months. Full autonomy of the unit will be
obtained after three complete recharge cycles.
CHARGING THE UNIT
Before using the trimmer for the first time,
allow it to charge for 16 hours. A full charge
will allow you 30 minutes of autonomous use.
WATERPROOF
For greater comfort and convenience, your
trimmer is waterproof and can even be used
in the shower. Easy to clean, it guarantees
maximum hygiene.
WARNING: The cord must be unplugged
from the handle before using the appliance
in the shower.
ATTACHING AND REMOVING ACCESSORIES
Make sure that the unit is switched off before
changing the trimmer head or
accessories. To attach a head,
fit the base of the accessory
onto the unit, pressing it until
you hear a click. To remove a
head, hold the handle of the
unit in one hand and push up
on the head with your free
hand (Fig. 3).

Limpie las cuchillas con el cepillo de limpieza

CUCHILLAS AUTO-LUBRICANTES
Su recortadora está equipada con una
compresa-depósito de aceite lubricante que

Patterning your hair and giving it
a perfect finish:
Use the precision trimmer. Your precision
trimmer comes with an exclusive special
short cut blade. Its narrow size (7mm) enables
you to pattern your hair and beard with
great accuracy.
To eliminate undesirable nose and ear hairs:
Gently insert trimmer head into the ear or
nose and cut the hairs. NOTE! Use only in the
opening of the nostrils or ears to avoid any risk
of injury.
BODY
Thanks to the shaving head for the body, you
can trim or shave any part of your body quickly
and evenly (chest, stomach, legs, etc.).
The shaving head includes 2 blades. These
blades shorten long hair and allow you to easily
achieve precise shaving.
The cutting guide used with the shaving head
cuts hair to 3mm when you don’t want to shave
completely (e.g., underarms).

TYPES OF BEARDS/MUSTACHES
GETTING STARTED
Decide on the type of beard or mustache
that best suits your face, taking into account
the size of your face and natural growth and
thickness of your beard and/or mustache.
After deciding on the form of the beard and/or
mustache, it is easy to maintain its appearance
by using the trimmer as soon as you feel it is
necessary. For better results, we recommend
cutting the beard when it is dry. This helps
make the cut precise and comfortable.
OUTLINING YOUR BEARD
1. It is always best to begin with a dry, clean
beard.
2. After you have combed through your beard
in the direction it grows naturally, you will want
to outline the desired shape, beginning under
your jawline.
3. Begin defining your beard’s shape under
your chin and work upward on each side of
your face toward your ears. Then define the
upper outline of your beard across your cheeks,
past your sideburns and toward your hairline.
The shaving head adapts perfectly to the
contours of your face and gives even the most
difficult parts a close shave. Result: a neat and
precise cut in less time, for an impeccable look.

TRIMMER
USING THE CUTTING GUIDE
The cutting guide guarantees equal cutting length.
IMPORTANT: Always attach the cutting guide
BEFORE turning the trimmer on, and turn unit
off before changing the guide. The cutting
length of your FBT1 trimmer is manually
adjustable. To increase the cutting length,
push the cutting guide up. To reduce the
cutting length, push the cutting guide down.
The selected length is displayed at the back of
the trimmer.
Make sure you always trim or style your beard
against the hair growth.
DISPOSAL OF NI-MH BATTERIES
This trimmer has nickel-metal hydride
batteries. To protect the environment, these
batteries should be removed and properly
disposed of when the unit is no longer
operating. To remove the battery block for
disposal or recovery, follow these instructions:
1. First, unplug the trimmer.
2. Open the trimmer and remove the batteries
using wire cutters.
3. To protect the environment, do not
dispose of your batteries with your ordinary
household waste.

Elija del tipo de barba/bigote que mejor le
convenga según la forma y el tamaño de su
rostro, la implantación del pelo y el espesor
de su barba/bigote. Una vez que determine la
forma, será fácil mantener el aspecto de su
barba/bigote, usando la cortadora cada vez que
la necesite. Para lograr resultados óptimos, le
recomendamos que corte su barba cuando esté
seca. Esto logrará resultados más precisos, más
cómodamente.
EL CONTORNEO
1. Se le hará más fácil cortar la barba si está
limpia y seca.
2. Peine la barba en la dirección del crecimiento
natural del pelo antes de empezar a darle
forma.
3. Dele forma a su barba empezando por debajo
de la quijada y subiendo hacia la oreja, en cada
lado del rostro. Siga dando forma al área de la
mejilla, a las patillas y a la línea de nacimiento
del cabello.
El cabezal de afeitado se adaptará
perfectamente a la forma de su rostro, para un

UTILIZACIÓN DE LA GUÍA
Las guías permiten cortar el pelo
uniformemente.
IMPORTANTE: Siempre instale la guía ANTES
de encender el aparato y apague el aparato
antes de cambiar la guía. La longitud de corte
puede ajustarse manualmente. Para conseguir
un corte más largo, empuje la guía hacia arriba.
Para conseguir un corte más corto, empuje
la guía hacia abajo. La longitud seleccionada
aparecerá en la parte trasera del aparato.
Siempre corte la barba en dirección contraria al
crecimiento del vello.
RECICLAJE DE LAS BATERÍAS NIMH
Este aparato está equipado con baterías
recargables de níquel e hidruro metálico
(NiMH). Para proteger el medio ambiente, estas
baterías y el aparato deben reciclarse según
las leyes vigentes al final de su vida útil. Siga
las instrucciones a continuación para retirar las
