CARE OF FILTER

For greatest efficiency the permanent

type aluminum foil filter should be removed and cleaned periodically.

To clean, the filter should be soaked in hot water and detergent, then

thoroughly rinsed.

CARE OF EXTERIOR SURFACE

- Your Exhaust Unit is

a beautifully finished addition to your kitchen. Clean with a mild deter-

gent to reserve its lasting beauty.

DO NOT

use abrasive cleansers.

tions completely and carefully. If followed, they

will simplify the installation.

Use

this unit only in the manner intended by the manufacturer. If you

have questions, contact the manufacturer. Before installation

and before servicing or cleaning unit, switch off power at ser-

vice panel and lock service panel to prevent power from being

switched on accidentally. When the service disconnecting

means cannot be locked, securely fasten a prominent device,

such as a tag, to the service panel.

Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by quali-

fied person(s) in accordance with the National Electrical Code

and all applicable codes and standards, including fire rated

construction. When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not

damage electrical wiring and other hidden utilities. Use only

metal ductwork or ducted fans, routed to the outdoors.

Use with approved cord connection kit only.

ELECTRICAL GROUNDING

- Permanently ground this

unit in accordance with the latest National Electrical Code and

applicable local codes and ordinances.

A permanent ground connection should be made to the unit

using a conductor of appropriate size from a grounded continu-

ous metallic cold water pipe, a grounded lead in the service

panel, or a properly driven and electrically grounded ground

rod. Do not ground to a gas supply pipe.

ARNING!!

Sufficient air is needed for proper combus-

tion and exhausting of gases through the flue (chim-

ney) of fuel burning equipment to prevent back draft-

ing. Follow the heating equipment manufacturer's guidelines

and safety standards such as those published by the National

Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the American Society

for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers

(ASHRAE), and the local code authorities.

TOOLS REQUIRED

1. Drill, electric or ratchet drive with 1-1/4"

wood bit (to drill an access hole in the

cabinet or kitchen wall for the electric power

line)

2. 1/4" metal drill bit

3. One 3/8" nut driver (to secure hood mount-

ing screws to the cabinet and hood sheet

metal parts)

4. Pliers (for opening knockouts)

5. Pencil, ruler and level for marking cabinet

locations

6. Saber saw or keyhole saw for cutting the

wall or cabinet openings

7. Straight blade screwdriver and Phillips head

screwdriver

INSTALLATION OF EXHAUST UNIT

NOTE

: When installing 90026WHI1 into liner

with (4) mounting studs, mount unit from below

aligning studs with appropriate holes. Secure

with nuts provided. For installation of liners

without mounting studs, proceed to step #1.

1. Set Power Module into place on top of

installed liner (refer to liner instructions), line

up the mounting holes and fasten in place

using (4) 10-24 x 1/2” bolts and nuts sup-

plied.

2. Cut out additional opening in wall and roof

as required.

3. Remove junction box cover from exhaust

unit.

4. Pull wiring through cutout in wall. Feed wir-

ing through access hole in junction box and

connect per wiring diagram.

5. Install and align duct. The ducting system is

not included with your Exhaust Unit. These

items must be purchased separately.

6. Make electrical connections according to

the latest National Electrical Code and appli-

cable local ordinances.

7. Replace junction cover.

8. Seal holes around ventilating pipe and wir-

ing passing through ceilings or walls with

caulking or insulation to prevent air loss.

9. Install decorative range hood cover.

ARNING!!

To reduce the risk of fire, use only metal

ductwork.

ARNING!!

Do not use this fan with any solid-state

speed control device.

ARNING!!

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF A RANGE

TOP GREASE FIRE: 1) Never leave surface units unat-

tended at high settings. Boilovers cause smoking and greasy

spillovers that may ignite. Heat oils slowly on low or medium

settings. 2) Always turn hood ON when cooking at high heat

or when cooking flaming foods. 3) Clean ventilating fans fre-

quently. Grease should not be allowed to accumulate on fan or

filter. 4) Use proper pan size. Always use cookware appropriate

for the size of the surface element.

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY TO

PERSONS IN THE EVENT OF A RANGE TOP GREASE

FIRE, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING: SMOTHER FLAMES

with a close fitting lid, cookie sheet, or metal tray, then turn

off the burner. BE CAREFUL TO PREVENT BURNS. If the

flames do not go out immediately, EVACUATE AND CALL

THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. NEVER PICK UP A FLAMING

PAN YOU MAY BE BURNED. Do not use water, INCLUDING

WET DISHCLOTHS OR TOWELS - A VIOLENT STEAM

EXPLOSION WILL RESULT. Use an extinguisher ONLY if: 1)

You know you have a class ABC extinguisher, and you already

know how to operate it. 2) The fire is small and contained in the

area where it started. 3) The fire department is being called. 4)

You can fight the fire with your back to an exit.

OMEGA NATIONAL PRODUCTS, LLC. RESPONSIBILITY: Parts: For a period of one (1) year after

date of original purchase, Rangaire will provide at no charge replacement parts for any parts of

your kitchen ventilating equipment (other than consumable parts) which are defective in material or

workmanship. The replacement parts are warranted for the remaining portion of the original warranty

period.

Labor: Omega National Products, LLC is not responsible for labor costs incidental to the replacement

of defective parts.

OWNER RESPONSIBILITY: Your warranty begins on the date of original purchase. In order to estab-

lish the date of original purchase keep the dated bill of sale, canceled check, or other evidence of the

original purchase date.

EXCLUSIONS: This warranty does not cover consumable parts such as charcoal filters and light bulbs.

This warranty does not apply if this product has been subjected to faulty installation, misuse, abuse

or neglect. This warranty excludes any consequential expense or damage resulting from any use or

malfunction of the product. All implied warranties are limited to the duration of this warranty. Some

states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or limitations on

how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.

SERVICE: Contact the distributor or dealer from who you purchased this product for replacement

parts covered by this warranty and they will obtain them for you free of charge. If your distributor

or dealer is unable to provide you with replacement parts covered by this warranty, please contact

INSTALLATION OF EXHAUST UNIT

1. Remove packaging material from inside the

blower unit.

2. Remove control knobs by pulling straight off

and set exhaust unit into opening in installed

metal liner (refer to liner instructions) by tip-

ping forward to allow control knob stems to

clear metal liner. Line up mounting holes

and fasten in place using (4) 1-/24 x 1/2"

bolts and nuts supplied.

3. Replace control knobs.

4. Cut out additional opening in wall and roof

as required.

5. Remove junction box cover from exhaust

unit.

6. Pull wiring through cutout in wall. Feed wir-

ing through access hole in junction box and

connect per wiring diagram.

7. If a ducted installation, install 3 1/4" x 10"

damper to top of unit. If ductless, remove

blade from damper and use the remain-

ing collar and supplied screws to assist

in mounting plenum to power unit. Install

and align duct. The ducting system is not

included with your Exhaust Unit. These

items must be purchased separately.

8. Make electrical connections according to

the latest National Electrical Code and appli-

cable local ordinances.

9. Replace junction cover.

10. Seal holes around ventilating pipe and wir-

ing passing through ceilings or walls with

caulking or insulation to prevent air loss.

11. Replace blower housing and filters.

12. Install decorative range hood cover.

If you have a motor speed problem, please check

the following list for possible causes.

1. Knockouts not removed from hood.

2. Blower assembly installed incorrectly;

intended for vertical discharge but installed

for horizontal discharge and vice versa.

3. Damper blade not opening.

4. Duct undersized causing reduced airflow

(duct too small or too long).

5. Restriction in duct from foreign materials

or debris

6. Undersized or restrictive wall or roof

cap.

7. Damper blade in wall or roof cap not

opening.

8. Wait for 20 - 30 seconds between speed

changes for RPM to adjust.

By removing or correcting these adverse fac-

tors, the motor speed control will be able to

decrease from maximum RPM.
