Operating Your Waffle Maker
Before using the waffle iron, read this
entire manual and all safety warnings
and cautions which appear throughout
this manual.
In this electric waffle maker the batter is
simultaneously baked on both sides
between the heated waffle plates. The
degree of browning of the waffles can
be adjusted by setting the temperature
control.
The mixture of the batter also
influences the waffle results.
Where applicable, use a brush and a
little cooking oil to slightly grease the
waffle plates.
1. Close the waffle iron and insert the
plug in a grounded wall socket. The
red indicator light shines and shows
that the appliance is connected to
power.
2. Slide the temperature control to the
desired setting, typically from level 3 to
level 5. The red indicator light shines
and indicates that the appliance is
heating up. As soon as the chosen
temperature has been reached, the
green indicator light will glow. The
appliance is now ready for use.
3. Now open the waffle iron and pour
enough batter into the middle of the
lower waffle plate halves for it to
spread out to within about 2 cm from
the edge. If you wish to bake two
waffles simultaneously, pour as near
as possible equal amounts into the
two waffle plate halves in order to
obtain an even result.
4. Close the waffle iron. Briefly
afterwards the green indicator light will
turn off. The waffle iron is now baking.
5. As soon as the green indicator lamp
lights up again, open the waffle iron
and check whether the waffles are
cooked and brown enough. If the
waffles are not quite ready or not
brown enough, let them bake a
moment longer.
6. When the waffles are ready, open up
the waffle iron and take out the waffles
by lifting one side slightly with a heat-
resistant wooden or plastic utensil and
then removing them with a spatula. If
the waffles are too dark, select a
correspondingly lower setting on the
temperature control for the next batch
of waffles or shorten the baking time
accordingly. After a couple of waffles,
you will have found the setting that is
exactly right for the way you like your
waffles.
7. Now that the appliance is heated up,
you can pour in the batter for the next
waffles immediately.
8. After use, remove the plug from the
wall socket and let the appliance cool
fully before cleaning.
9. After the appliance has cooled, clean it
as described in the chapter "Care and
Cleaning".
