OWNER’S MANUAL
INTERNATIONAL LIMITED WARRANTY
ARX Systems (ARX) warrants to the first purchaser of any ARX equipment that it is free
from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service. ARX’s sole
obligation under this warranty shall be to provide, without charge, parts and labour
necessary to remedy defects, if any, which appear within twelve (12) months from date of
purchase, and for a further twelve (12) months supply parts only.
This is our only warranty. It does not cover finish or appearance items, or if the
equipment has been, in ARX’s sole judgement:
•Subjected to misuse, abuse, negligence or accident;
•Repaired, worked on, or altered by persons not authorized by ARX;
•Connected, installed, adjusted or used for a purpose other than that for which it was
designed.
This warranty gives you and us specific legal rights and you may also have other rights
which may apply.
Warranty Service Procedure
Should it become necessary to have your equipment serviced under the
terms of the warranty, please follow these steps:
1. Call your ARX distributor for a Return Authorization (RA) number;
2. Carefully repack the unit, in its original packaging where possible,
including a note with a description of the problem, and a copy of
the receipt showing date of purchase. Attach these to the actual
unit itself. Don’t forget to write your name and address clearly, and
include a phone number where you can be contacted during
normal business hours. Make it easy for our service technicians to
contact you if they have a question. Also, use plenty of packing
material - better to be safe than sorry.
3. Send the unit freight prepaid to ARX Systems, at the address given
you with your RA number. We will pay the return freight when the
serviced unit is returned to you.
4. We strongly recommend you insure the package. We can’t fix it if it
gets lost! Send it by UPS, Fedex, or any similar service that can track
the package. Parcel Post is not recommended
If Warranty Registration Card is missing, please write to ARX in the
country of purchase, stating model and where purchased, or to

ment. Replace with same type and value only
This symbol is intended to alert you to the presence of uninsulated
dangerous voltage within the product's enclosure that may be of
sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock.
This symbol is intended to alert you to the presence of important
operating instructions contained in this owner's manual
WARNING SYMBOLS USED ON THIS EQUIPMENT
IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
This is a dual voltage unit. It is essential that you check that the voltage on
the fuseholder cover below the AC connector on the rear of the chassis is
set correctly before connecting it to AC power.
To change, pull fuseholder out and rotate 180
o
, then push in again. Do not
insert power cable into unit until voltage has been correctly set. Do not plug
power cable into AC power until voltage has been correctly set
THIS IS SET FOR
100 V AC TO 120 V

Changing CP 32 Performance Parameters
• Crossover Frequency
Unless ordered specifically from the Factory the CP 32 is preset at a Crosso-
ver Frequency of 500HZ on all three channels. To vary the frequency the
values of RX1, RX2, RX3 & RX4 must be altered. Luckily these are all identi-
cal values so the operation is not overly complicated.
The technically minded can work out the values using the following
formula:
1
RX1,2,3,4 = 6.28 x (3.9 x 10
-9
) x Crossover Frequency in Hz
However, standard frequencies use the following resistor values:
Frequency RX1,RX2,RX3,RX4
250 Hz 163K Ohm
500 Hz 82K Ohm
800 Hz 51K Ohm
1 KHz 40K Ohm
• Low Frequency Equalisation.
Some Low Frequency Systems (especially those derived from Thiele Small
alignments) now require the use of low frequency equalisation to achieve
smooth frequency response. The CP 32 is supplied with this equalisation set
flat with the highpass set at 40Hz. To vary this parameter use the following
scale:
6dB boost at R11, RA11, RB11 R10, RA10, RB10
25Hz 18K Ohm 280K Ohm
32Hz 13K Ohm 220K Ohm
35Hz 12K Ohm 200K Ohm
40Hz 10K Ohm 180K Ohm
45Hz 9K Ohm 150K Ohm
50Hz 7.5K Ohm 140K Ohm
60Hz 7K Ohm 120K Ohm

Introduction
Thank you for choosing this ARX Cinema PRO series CP32 Three Channel 2
way Crossover. We hope you enjoy using it as much as we enjoyed creating
it. As with all ARX equipment, it has undergone extensive factory calibra-
tion and ‘burn in’ before shipping. To ensure continued trouble free use,
please familiarise yourself with the contents of this manual before using the
CP32.
About the CP32
The ARX Cinema Pro CP32 is a three channel Phase Correct 24dB Electronic
Crossover designed specifically for Professional Cinema applications.
• Tamper Proof Controls
To ensure the CP 32 is tamper proof Crossover points are internally adjusta-
ble. HF level and HF EQ are accessed via rear panel trim controls.
• Balanced Inputs & Outputs
The CP 32 features electronically balanced inputs and outputs using XLR
connectors or terminal blocks.
• High Pass Filter
All channels feature a pre-set 18dB per Octave high pass filter factory set at
40Hz to remove unwanted subsonics that can damage loudspeakers and
cause intermodulation distortion.
• State of the Art Filter Design
Innovative product design requires uncompromising circuitry. The CP 32
features Linkwitz Riley 24dB (fourth order) state variable filters to ensure a
smooth phase correct transition through the crossover region.
Universal AC Power
AC power range is a universal 100/ 120V or 220/240V AC, and is connected
