Intended use

■ For use in the household only.

■ The washing machine is suitable for

washing machine-washable textiles

or hand-washable wool in washing

water.

■ The appliance is suitable to be

operated with cold drinking water

and commercially available

detergents and care products which

are suitable for use in washing

machine.

■ When dosing all detergents,

cleaning aids, cleaning products

and cleaning agents, always follow

the manufacturer's instructions.

■ The washing machine may be

operated by children from 8 years of

age, by persons who have limited

physical, sensory or mental abilities

and by persons who have

inadequate experience or

knowledge, provided they are

supervised or have been instructed

by a responsible person.

■ Keep pets away from the washing

machine.

■ Install and operate the washing

machine in a room which has an

outflow.

installation instructions and all other

Hints and tips

■ Utilise the maximum amount

of washing for the particular

programme. Overview of

■ Wash normally soiled washing

without Prewash.

■ Instead of the Cottons 90°C

programme, select Cottons 60°C

and ¦ ecoPerfect additional

function. Comparable cleaning result

with significantly lower energy

consumption.

■ Energy saving mode: The display

panel light goes out after several

minutes, button Ü Start/Reload

flashes. To activate the light, select

any button.

The energy-saving mode is

not activated if a programme is

running.

■ Measure detergent according to the

manufacturer’s instructions and

water hardness.

■ Automatic switch off: If the

appliance is not operated for a

prolonged period, it automatically

switches off before the programme

starts and when the programme has

ended to save energy. Switch on by

pressing main switch # button.

■ If the washing is then dried in the

appliance, select the fastest possible

spin speed. The less water the

washing contains, the less time and

energy are required for drying.

Do not dry dripping wet washing.

■ When dosing all detergents,

cleaning aids, cleaning products

and cleaning agents, always follow

the manufacturer's instructions.

■ Do not exceed maximum load.

Overfilling will impair the washing

result.

■ Keep detergents and agents for the

pretreatment of washing (e.g. stain

remover, prewash sprays, ...) away

from the surfaces of the washer

dryer. Using a damp cloth,

immediately remove any fine spray

residue and other residue/droplets.

■ Empty pockets. Remove foreign

objects.

■ Remove metal parts (paper clips,

etc.).

■ Trousers, knitwear and knitted

textiles, e.g. jersey garments, Tshirts

or sweatshirts should be turned

inside out.

■ Ensure that underwire bras are

machine-washable.

■ Wash delicates in the net/bag

(tights, underwired bras).

■ Close zips, button up covers.

■ Brush sand out of pockets and

collars.

Switching on the appliance

The washing machine was tested before

delivery. To remove residual water from

the test procedure, the first wash cycle

should be run without washing using the

Drum clean (in Additional programs)

programme. Before washing for the first

programme

1. Turn the programme selector to the

desired programme. Presettings and

maximum load are indicated in the

display field, e.g. Cottons

programmes.

■ The indicator lamp is lit on the pro-

gramme selector and the main menu

for the selected programme is indi-

cated on the display panel.

■ For appliances with drum light:

After swithching on the appliance,

after opening and closing the wash-

ing machine door as well as after

starting the programme, the drum is

lit. The light goes out automatically.

– Select programme using the

buttons (1) under the arrows. The

selection is acknowledged by

a tick.

– Wait or back by pressing Main

menu button(2), selected

programme is indicated on the

display panel.

– To change the programme,

select button(3) under the black

highlighted programme and

change programme.

3. You can use the displayed

presettings or adjust the selected

programme optimally to the items of

washing by changing the presettings

or selecting additional settings/

options.

– Change Temp., Spin Speed or

Finish in time:

settings are active without

acknowledgement and are

displayed in the main menu.

programme is running if the

programme duration requires

changing, e.g. due to changes in

the programme settings/options,

Loading the laundry

Insert the washing.

The load screen for the selected

programme (e.g. for Cottons) is

indicated on the display panel. The load

screen is indicated when the door is

opened or when the amount of washing

is changed.

Notes

■ Unfold and load presorted items of

washing. Mix large and small items.

Washing items of different size

distribute themselves better during

the spin cycle. Individual items of

washing may cause imbalances.

■ Do not load washing until the main

menu for the saved programme is

displayed after the Siemens logo.

■ The load bar progresses as the

washing machine is loaded. If the

max. load is exceeded, the bar

flashes. Do not exceed indicated

max. load. Overfilling reduces the

washing result and encourages

creasing.

■ Take care not to trap any items of

clothing between the loading door

and rubber seal.

Close the door.

The main menu for the selected

programme is indicated again on the

display panel.

care product

Caution!

Damage to the appliance

Detergents and agents for the

pretreatment of laundry (e.g. stain

remover, prewash sprays, etc.) may

damage the surfaces of the washer

dryer.

Keep these agents away from the

surfaces of the washer dryer. Using a

damp cloth, immediately remove any

fine spray residue and other residue/

droplets.

Dosing

Dose the detergents and care products

according to:

■ water hardness (ask your water

supply company),

■ the manufacturer’s specifications on

the packaging,

■ the amount of laundry,

■ soiling.

Filling the dispensers

1. Pull out the detergent drawer.

:Warning

Eye / skin irritation!

If the detergent drawer is opened

while the appliance is running,

detergent/care product may run out.

Carefully open the drawer.

If detergent/care product comes into

contact with eyes or skin, rinse

thoroughly.

If accidentally swallowed, seek

medical advice.

2. Pour in detergent and/or cleaning

product.

■ If liquid detergent is used, put them

into the right dispenser or pour into

the drum directly.

■ Dilute viscous fabric softener

and fabric conditioner with water.

This will prevent blockages.

■ Be careful when opening the

detergent drawer while the appliance

is running.

Touch Start/Reload Ü button.

The indicator light is on.

Washing sequence steps

During the wash cycle the programme

progress is indicated by a bar on the

display panel. The bar progresses in the

course of the wash cycle and provides

information about the current

programme progress.

The arrows are switched on and off

according to the programme progress.

They indicate the programme settings/

options which can be changed/added

as the programme progresses.

are displayed during the wash cycle.

Childproof lock

To prevent the set functions of the

washing machine from being

accidentally changed, the childproof

lock can be activated.

Activating/deactivating: Press button

Finish in for approx. 5 seconds. The

symbol w is indicated in the display

field. If the button signal is activated, an

acoustic signal sounds.

Display panel goes back to the Main

menu after approx. 3 seconds.

If the programme selector is adjusted or

a button is selected while the childproof

Dispenser I Detergent for prewash.

Dispenser i Softener, starch. Do not exceed

the maximum load.

Dispenser II Detergent for main wash, water

softener, bleach, stain remover.

Reload the laundry

When the programme has started,

washing can be reloaded or taken out

as required.

Select Start/ReloadÜ.

Changing the programme

if you have mistakenly started a wrong

1. Select Start/Reload Ü.

2. Select another programme.

programme starts from

the beginning.

Interrupting or ending the

programme

For programmes at high temperature:

1. Select Start/Reload Ü.

2. Cool down washing: select Rinse/

Freshen Up (see Additional

Programs).

3. Select Start/Reload Ü .

For programmes at low temperature:

1. Select Start/Reload Ü.

2. Select Spin or Drain *.

(* set spin speed to 0)

3. Select Start/Reload Ü.

End of the programme

If option Rinse hold $ was selected:

1. Select Spin (If required, adjust the

spin speed, spin speed=0 is Drain)

2. Select Start/Reload Ü.

After the programme finished:

Finished, remove washing is indicated

on the display panel.

If Foam has been detected is also

indicated on the display panel, the

washing machine has detected too

much foam during the wash programme

and therefore automatically activates

After washing

1. Open appliance door and remove

washing.

Notes

– Do not leave any items

of washing in the drum.

In the next wash they may shrink

or discolour something else.

– Remove any foreign objects from

the drum and the rubber seal.

– Leave detergent drawer and door

open so that residual water can

evaporate.

Before switching the machine off:

Notes

– Always remove the washing.

– Always wait until the programme

ends, as the appliance could still

be locked. Then switch

the appliance on and wait for the

unlocking device.
