Wet and Forget 805048 User guide

  • Hello! I've reviewed the Wet & Forget Hose End 48 ounce user manual. This document describes how to attach and use the hose end application system with both 'Fan Tip' and 'Jet Tip' options and provides application tips for best results. I understand how to use this device for cleaning different surfaces, including treating moss and lichen, and am ready to answer your questions.
  • What are the two types of hose end tips?
How do I start applying Wet & Forget?
How do I know the product is being dispensed?
What is the recommended surface preparation?
SETTING UP YOUR HOSE END
Once the Wet & Forget Hose End has been attached to the garden hose, turn on water
at the spigot.
Next choose the correct hose end tip for your application.
‘Fan Tip’
- for application to
large, ground level surfaces such
as concrete patios, driveways or
tennis courts.
‘Jet Tip’
- for application to high elevations
such as roofs or siding.
To secure the tip during application, align the notch on the tip with the bottle and snap into place. This will
secure the tip during application.
Next, turn the black dial counter clockwise to the
‘WATER’
setting and begin watering all plants and
landscape in the surround application area.
BEGIN APPLICATION
Once you have a protective coat of water on your landscape, turn the black dial further counter clockwise
until it stops at the
‘ON’
setting. You are now ready to start applying the product. Apply to a dry surface.
For roofs or vertical surfaces, start at the top of the surface and work your way down moving side to side.
Be sure to fully saturate the surface. You should see a white bubbling foam on the surface.
Once the entire surface has been treated, turn the black dial clockwise to the ‘WATER’ setting and give your
plants and landscape a final rinse.
Your job it done! Wet & Forget will do the hard work for you.
TIPS & TRICKS
Surface Preparation:
Apply Wet & Forget to a dry surface.
Dispensing of Product: When the dial is set to ‘ON’, product will dispense from the bottle and mix with the
water coming from the water hose. You should see a white bubbling foam on the surface being treated. You
will also notice the product level will slowly start to decrease in the bottle. If this is not the case, check the
black dial to assure it is set to the ‘ON’ position.
Obtaining up to 30’ Reach:
Water pressure from the spigot and the type of garden hose can affect the
Wet & Forget nozzle reach on the ‘JET’ setting. Wind will reduce reach, apply on a windless day.
Landscape Preparation:
Cover plants and landscaping with a tarp or rinse the plants with water before and
after application. Wet & Forget will not leach into the soil.
Ideal Environment:
For best results, apply Wet & Forget on a windless, dry day with no chance of rain for 4-
5 hours after application. Morning is ideal but no matter when you apply, make sure the surface being
treated stays wet for an extended period of time, giving Wet & Forget more time to work.
Temperature:
Temperatures should be above 35 degrees during application and for the 4-5 hours after
application. It’s best to apply on a cool day, or during the coolest part of warmer days, to avoid rapid
evaporation.
Coverage:
Wet & Forget hose end, 48 ounce will treat up to 2,000 square feet. Porous surfaces, such as
concrete and asphalt shingles, will require more product than non-porous surfaces. The density of the
growth will also determine the amount of product used.
Application:
Saturate the surface completely with Wet & Forget to remove moss, mold, mildew & algae
stains. Do not rinse.
Additional Assistance:
If an area is particularly bad, or the growth has been on the surface for many years,
re-apply Wet & Forget approximately one month after the first application.
Maintenance Applications:
After the stains have disappeared, use Wet & Forget as a maintenance tool.
Re-apply at the first sign of new growth to keep stains from re-appearing. In most cases, an annual
application of Wet & Forget will keep surfaces clean.
Treating Moss:
To get rid of moss, completely saturate the moss making sure Wet & Forget
soaks through and comes in contact with the surface beneath the moss. Over the next few
days or weeks, you’ll notice the moss turning brown, curling up and detaching from the
surface. The wind and rain will help wash away any remaining moss.
Treating Lichen:
Lichen is a complex combination of fungus and algae that have learned to
live together, forming a unique type of growth with two layers. Thoroughly saturate the lichen,
wait 15 minutes, and spray a second time. This will allow Wet & Forget to penetrate both
layers. It is important to spray lichen on a day that is not too warm or sunny, to prevent rapid
evaporation.
